I've been in the industry for a very long time. To be honest it's all the same except for what people are willing to pay for. Red Lobster is the most honest when it comes to actually serving a species of any seafood. I've worked at restaurants where I saw mystery fish passed of as say Mahi Mahi. It wasn't Mahi, but I no matter how long I waited, I never saw anyone notice 🤣😂🤣. Especially at so called classy joints. People will eat anything. Just trying to educate.

So you're saying even though you're going to a restaurant that is offering endless shrimp, which is over priced anyways, you shouldn't get your money's worth because your server wont get as many tables? I'm more likely to tip more on something like this because I'm more satisfied, more bang for my buck equals more money for the server.

Also, when we go for endless shrimp, we tell our server that we'll "pay rent" on the table and make sure to tip more generously than usual, since we know we've stayed longer and that a lot of people tend to be on the lean side when it comes to tipping. iI ove Red Lobster, at least I used to, until I saw a TH-cam video about a man who adopted a lobster from a seafood counter at a grocery store. I have only eaten at Red Lobster once, but after seeing a TH-cam video about a man who adopted a lobster from a seafood counter at a grocery store, I won't be doing that again. The cheesy biscuits are great and can be made at home. I like the idea of keeping a lobster as a pet in a huge aquarium far more than eating one.

If one orders endless shrimp, and if waitstaff knows they have less table, just tip them MORE!!! They’re going back and forth to refill ur order. If the staff attends to my shrimp refills and the AYCE shrimp is $20, I take that into account and tip accordingly. If staff does NOT ask if I need refill and asks me to pay right away, they deserve less; next table can tip them.
I waited tables too in my prior life…

think of the server first when it comes to endless shrimp?
    sorry but no.
it's the companies limited offer, obviously we should enjoy to the fullest when we can, most of us get maybe a couple days like that every year, vs the servers who can work there for months to years, they'll get normal business every other day, they can sacrifice that meager amount, ignot maybe work for a company that doesn't have such an offer.
ayce or all you can eat aka unlimited, means just that, one plate or a hundred plates, numbers are irrelevant, the company offers and the sever serves the customer, simple as that, it's a limited offer, nobody should leave before eating enough because tip for a day or so.

When I go to a restaurant to eat, I expect to be waited on. The server is there to bring me what I ask for, when I ask for it and be courteous about it. Snide remarks, funny looks, heavy sighs etc are deducted from a good tip. No server is going to tell me I can't take home any food left on the table when I'm full. If it's on the table, I paid for it and I'm taking it. What's next? If I only eat half my meal and ask for a container they're going to charge me a half plate price? 20 years in the restaurant business and I always told my servers, "You're not entitled to tips, you EARN them by how you treat the customer!"
Pet peeve, why do these commercial makers think it's appealing to customers to see food jabbed into butter so hard it splashes everywhere? How many customers have they seen doing that? Not many I bet.

I used to work for them. We always cooked the lobster the same and if someone wanted it grilled, it was thrown on the grill for a few mins for the grill marks. Crab legs were microwaved. Same with pasta, veggies, etc. Servers would pull them out of the plastic bags and put them on the plate. They did not even chop lettuce. All lettuce came in chopped and many times it was already brown in a vacuum sealed bag. Since I worked for them, I have never returned to eat. Rather spend a little more at mom and pop seafood places and get things fresh and not microwaved.
