I'm working on a StayPuft Marshmallow costume- I didn't want one of those with the pumps that run continuously. I just need a light form to go over my head and shoulders. I thought of inflatables. Great video, I'm glad you posted it. I wish more makers would post their mis-steps. Often they are more helpful than "solutions".
Hello Becky, look up a company called billboard tarps. They have the new vinyl fabric material that you want to use that HH-66 with. It is essentially pool vinyl. I use the 20 oz. white material as a waterproof roof covering material for many seasonal sunrooms at a coastal RV park. I am toying with the idea of making some home built, heavy duty swim rafts, and floats, unfortunately that HH-66 isn't cheap, but is sure does give an a nice, permanent, water proof, and air tight seal if done properly.
I watched this video because I'm going to 3D print a catamaran that will carry me to work along the canal, while I drink coffee and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.. great vid 👌👍 thanks.. to save weight I wondered if it would be possible incorporate an inflatable seat into the supporting aluminium frame that will keep the boat/pontoons square.. I have to get the boat 300m from the canal to work on foot, so reducing the burden on my glass back is a bonus.. and it at least might slow my sink rate 😁
hi, i found your channel because i was looking up how to make an inflatable tent. I subscribed, but I hope there's more videos since I'm seeing comments form 5 yearas ago.
That’s exactly why I’m here!!! Did you figure it out??? I’m convinced that I can do it and I refuse to pay for it! I mean they don’t even make them as big as I want mine to be! So let’s be friends and figure this thing out!! ❤😂❤
@Beky Marchall Design, what thickness is that vinyl and where can it be purchased? is it 4mil? can it be purchased on Amazon? working on some pool toy mods
I want to make an inflatable pool for testing kayaks I repair 20 ft X 4 ft at least 18" deep. I know it's possible but this is the first video I watch to learn where to start.
Dish soap and water in a spray bottle Will help you find a leak. Plumbers used that trick To find gas leaks. Better yet, considering The project here, maybe a little spritzer bottle Would be sufficient
Hey Becky this is unique content! Very original and exactly what I was looking for, so I am so grateful you have done all the R&D for me already! I must say it did catch my attention that you are a woman. I love seeing female makers on TH-cam at this level of engagement and sophistication. I must say I am quite curious about the place you are shooting this video from, is this a public makerspace? which one? is this TechShop before the bankruptcy? (still hurts that they went down)
Thanks Orwa for the love. This was filmed in the shop at my grad school. Unfortunately they’ve since moved campuses and the incredible shopmaster who made this space so magical also retired. Long live Ed Koizumi!!
@@BeckyMarshallDesign thank you! I’m looking into some 10 gauge vinyl, which seems relatively think that I want to play with. I’m going to be experiments to try to make inflatable frames for artworks. Any recommendations are helpful. I’ll probably experiment with some shower curtains also
I never got to test my prototyped inflatables on water so I can’t make any promises there, BUT with practice (aka after trying once or twice and failing, and getting better at bonding it…) and a perfect seal, I can’t imagine why it wouldn’t support a human in water. If you try it yourself, please come back and leave a comment!
I’m trying to make a outdoor dining cube so I can eat outdoor without contamination from Covid-19. The plan is to pump the inflatable dining cube with filtered air from a HEPA filter machine with its own portable battery.
you are the coolest person ever! Love how you're combining physical computing with inflatables !!

I found your video searching HH-66. I"m thinking of attempting to patch a vinyl boat. This was one vid that did not look like a glue selling company
This is a great video! Love that you used that Arduino pump.
This is the way I remembered you. Funny to find you recently in a VAN. :) Well - most pleasing.
Working on a replacement top for my canopy. Making it out of billboard vinyl material, and hoping to glue the pieces together.
I’m trying to make an airtight vinyl vacuum press for my 3d printed longboard molds. I’m deliberating between heat seaming or vinyl glueing.
Outstanding! Working on a diy inflatable tent. Any ideas?

Your cat litter vid randomly popped up. Loved it. Then I checked out your channel. Will subscribe!

A little soapy water spray can help locate leaks. Bubbles will pop up where the leak is.
Hi Becky. I found this video searching for how to make vinyl inflatables. I want to make a leading edge inflatable (LEI) kite. Thanks for the info!

Thank you for this video! I really want to make my own Bubble Buddy from SpongeBob 😂
Poovie is a doll.
What vinyl would you recommend for making inflatables? A thicker or a thinner vinyl? Or just reusing the vinyl from old rafts?
THICKER! Shower curtains were great and cheap and easy to get. Other inflatables might work but sheet material won’t have stretching etc

@@BeckyMarshallDesign Thanks becky! Where exactly do you source your material from? Is it good to use as a pool float?
