Give the Hazy Emperor snare side Head a try for the Snom. Its thicker than the Snare Side head that it came with to give it a true floor tom sound, but sensitive enough to articulate the snares. The Ambasador kills the snare wire sensitivity, Larnell Lewis quoted.

Hey Mike, Happy Easter! Well I finally did it, and thanks to you and your killer review. I got the seafoam green finish. I’m gonna be changing out the heads later this morning and just tweaking it in general. Like you I’m going to be putting non-coated heads on the two toms. I’ll take a couple of pics later and share with you. I had a rehearsal last night with them, I’m very excited about using this kit on smaller gigs. Thank you again for your review and hope to run into you soon.
@@casanodrums Hey now, today I I took all the stockheads off. I put the Evans G2 clear on both better sides of the two toms G one clear on the bottom Rezo side and wow what a humongous difference like tonality warmth and an actually depth. Put a G2 coded on the snare and I put a Emad Claire on the bass drum. Believe it or not I’ve put a check port on the bass drum. Sounds pretty decent. I’m playing my first gig with it tomorrow night I will definitely take some footage and probably go live on Facebook at some point. Again thank you because I really don’t think I would’ve bought the kid if it weren’t for your video and talk to me talking to me about it a couple months ago. Happy Easter Mike!
@@casanodrums I almost forgot. I tried to do exactly what you did putting the 4 drums in the bass drum case, for some reason I could not get the floor tom in there. I must be doing something wrong.
I think the stock heads are single-ply coated ambassadors. Pretty sure Remo makes these heads - as they do for the higher end Yamaha kits - but I could be wrong...
@@casanodrums You still liking the kit? Been on the fence about getting one for a while now, as I already have 2 other Yamaha kits with limited storage space. Still, this thing looks really fun to play. cheers
@@StephenSpivack yes I’ve been using it a ton! It’s great I think you’d have fun with it. I have 3 other sets too including a Yamaha maple custom absolute :)
Thanks man. I think you’re talking about the 18” K Sweet crash. That line of cymbals is great!! The hi hats are 14” K Custom Session (designed with Steve Gadd to sound like an old pair of hi hats he played for a long time).
i was disappointed the front and sides of the bass drum hoops were unfinished. I put a few coats of wax on to protect the wood.
Love this video, I purchased recentley a SC hip kit and this video was very helpfull, the head choice is very good love the sound!

What is the weight of the entire drum kit in the 22x16 bag please ? It's a very important and unique info :) thanks in advance

Hey! can You tell me what frequency(hz) your drums are tuned(snare, 1st tom, 3rd and kick) or what note?

@@drumgrooveguru3177 make sure it's a 22x18" bag and not a 22x16"??
@@casanodrums it is, still scratching my head.

I think you are correct. I feel like the coating doesn't seem to last as long as a regular Remo though

Great review thanks a lot 👌
Funny how everyone on TH-cam does the same beat at the beginning of the drum kit test.
Do you think this would be good for like playing in a church ?
Absolutely. Mic up the kick and it sounds amazing!
@@casanodrums what about without the mic ?
@@pocketking4152 if you don’t mic it up then don’t have a front hole in the head and it will be more punchy and you’ll get more volume.
@@casanodrums thanks man
Nice , a Hi hat is 10 inch ?
You mean the hi Tom? Yes 10”
