I go to the shop and leave my House unlocked and my second floor sliding doors open. I couldn't take it living in Joburg anymore, so many sleepless night waiting for someone to break into my house again. No one should have to live under those conditions.
guns are legal, but the dumbass government has it work like this: criminals with assault rifles break into your house, they aim at you. if you shot a warning shot and they still dont move, you shoot at them. guess what, next day the police show up and arrest you. nothing happens to these assholes. we have had many instances where the police "arrest" the criminals and just drop them off a few blocks further. time after time.
You know what's really disturbing? That we've reached the point where robberies like this is actually a relief- they had no weapons and didn't kill and torture someone. Cry the beloved country.
