- I posted on June 7 when I planted then I posted on July 7 and it had grown a lot.
I haven’t made it to August 7 because it was out of control 🤷🏼♀️
I gave it a big haircut and I’ll post August 7 with the new growth ,it was in need.

It’s so hot and humid in Houston right now. I can only tend to my garden in 10-15 minutes spurts. Evenings after 7 I can water and dead head. Love looking at your paradise 🪴🌸

You tree house garden is growing so fast. I never thought you could trim so much and manicure plants like that. Thanks for showing how you pick the seeds from the nasturtium. They’re on the bien part! Can’t wait to see what you do to the little cabinet. I painted the hallway Tuesday. Turned out great! I’m 66 and realizing I can do lots of things I was told I couldn’t do by my husband. Painting crown molding in the garage today. Have a good week!!!
I was just on my phone with my girlfriend who’s turning 70 in October. We’ve been dear friends forever and we were just talking how husbands like to keep us down by telling us we can’t do things …,more so my mothers generation than mine . But still ours too. it’s funny you said that. Obviously they’re insecurities not ours. Women are amazing creatures. We can do anything we put our mind to. Thanks for sharing .🍃🌸💗🐦⬛

Your chandelier vanished! 😂 Your flowers look beautiful. I planted lavender and yellow lantana last year. They are both trailing Florida natives, but I keep them trimmed to form a mounded habit. You are so very right-the more I trim them, the more they grow. But they look nice-not all leggy and weedy, but more compact. They are the one flower that can acquire the English Garden look and yet endure Florida heat. I can’t grow many of the flowers you have here, regretfully. 😢

@@mamabrooke Yes, heat indexes of 105 F to the insane 117 F. It was so hot a sparrow sought refuge in an alcove on the front of the house. He clung to the wall because it was deeply shaded and several degrees cooler there. Florida has very high humidity; we routinely awake in the morning to see the windows fogged with water on the exterior (because the a/c inside creates an extreme temperature difference). Unfortunately, the Gulf of Mexico has reached extreme temperatures of 100 F and it is killing the coral reef down in the Florida Keys. 🤬
Well with all the pollution,it’s not going to catch us eventually.

Thing is, I couldn’t remember your TH-cam channel name. I was bummed. I watch a wide variety of channels since covid. Absolutely zero on tv. But some things I watch are thrifting channels, gardening, good recipes easy to make, but also adding healthy dishes. I watch videos on Appalachia my fave is a woman from North Carolina, but her accent & the words she uses reminds me of my grandparents and their home down a winding road in WV. My siblings and I grew up spending weekends w/them about once a month or so. What memories! But just last week one of your videos came up on my “suggestions” videos. When I watched it, you were outside in your shade garden, and you mentioned the house was home w/3 renters and you were upstairs. But I heard your voice and thought, this is her! Oh, trust me, it’s my favourite spot, but when it gets too full, it takes 18 buckets of water a day also, it brings affects and no air circulation.then I trim it and it all grows back, my nest is where I’m sitting right now talking to you and laying on my chaise lounge .l love it. Well today was 92 f :33 c …and winter ❄️ well it’s very cold we have amazing summer the prettiest falls and well winter is just cold

Everything looks beautiful! I’m going to admit that I’m guilty for letting my plants go a little wild, but last week I actually trimmed one of my potted plants and it’s flourishing better than before.
Yes I do it every year but this year it was earlier then usual , this is 6 weeks in from planting I was 2 1/2 weeks behind even . 🍃🌸🐦⬛

I never tried to grow a lemon tree or lime..did you get fruit last yr. when you grew the lemon tree..I would probably just leave it in doors in my sunroom if I tried it...

Can you save your elephant ear plants for the next year? If so, how do you preserve them?
You can go right down to the root ball and store it in dormancy .Or you can try to keep it in the house. It’s not an easy one. 🍃
