Most effective test on drag , line and rod strength. You manage to stop a 50 kg prized catch. By the way do wear a pair of sunglasses nx time for protection from debris or broken rod, just in case. We don't want to be like Moshe Dayan.

Im going try that with my wife. That was really funny. When she tries to get away I can get my rod n reel I can catch her. Great video.
I am pretty sure she could have spooled you if she didn't go so hard so fast. If you can pull drag at walking pace, then you should be able to walk out the entire line capacity at full drag. In a sprint you can only sustain that pace for 100-150m let alone with added full locked drag.
Let someone swim and try to swim away it soooo funny... done it with a buddy on a cheap ugly stick spinning reel and he couldn't do it lol.

If you all are wondering, this reel costs ~$1200 give or take. If you buy directly from Daiwa they give you a 5 year warranty on it, and 5 years free cleaning and servicing. Honestly, if you are on the water daily or even weekly going for some megas, a badass spinning reel will make your life all the easier....of course for $1200 you could buy 10 new PENN Battle II 8000s or 3 8000 and 3-4 coastal fishing trips worth of fuel. This is a lambo of fishing tackle. A good truck will get you there too (just not as elegantly).

That was funny as! I'm still a bit meh on the design tho... The doggers and the older saltigas look better IMO... If they chucked in spool cuts like the 15 saltiga it would have been better aesthetically.
I like that it doesn't have spool cuts. It's a bold & admirable design decision that it doesn't have spool cuts. The reel looks very purposeful without them - strong, invulnerable, free of unnecessary decoration.
This catch is worth keeping, especially with this sense of a humor.
