Hopefully going to actually make it my first full backpacking trip but even if I day hike it I'm going to be ecstatic. Lifelong Ohioan and still have yet to visit Hocking Hills! My home trails are usually in the CVNP or around my hometown. Thanks for sharing your adventures with us, Taylor! I hope to someday meet you on the trail
Taylor, your cuteness is always off the charts, it’s a part of your personality. Please get those headaches checked out, they can be indicators of cardiovascular issues. Toughing it out is admirable, but not necessary and potentially dangerous.
I have watched all of you AT vids but honestly this has to be my favorite. Cody and you just seem to be perfect trail companions. You have so much fun with each other and both love the woods. I had to look up Zaleski and was shocked to see it’s only an hour and twenty minutes from my house lol lived here my entire life and hike every weekend and never knew 😂 I feel you on the Dunkin’! Even new my Katadyn Befree filter never poured that fast. After 9 days of use it was pretty plugged, slowed right down even after flushing. 2nd one that has done that. Good to see you two out again.

If ya manage to make it back to Ohio for future hikes ya might consider Shawnee State Forest, often referred to as "The Little Smokies of Ohio." Oh heck, just do the Buckeye Trail, it passes through many of our parks!! ;) No matter where ya go, we're ever so thankful that you bring us along. Have a great time and be safe.

I found an athletic skort on eBay last summer and got curious. Game changer! Definitely cuter; but also no heavy, suffocating leggings and no chafing/bunching from shorts. Happy that someone else likes them too! And now I want to do the Buckeye Trail 😆
yeah we dont have many BIG hills here, but our trails like to hit every single hill in the area possible lol. Archers fork in Wayne national Forest in S ohio is 12-14 miles of constant up and down

Not great views there either though. If more time check out Red River Gorge. Very popular now but I’ve been hiking there for almost 40 years if you need any recommendations. Love your videos!
Driving into Kentucky this weekend to see Red River Gorge. First time there. I think that it’s one of those hidden secrets that many people haven’t heard about.
DC al Cody- (music nerd reference) Da Capo al Coda (often abbreviated as D.C. al Coda): Repeat from beginning to an indicated place and then play the tail part (the "Coda"). We’re loving the repeat to the ending. Hopefully more DC’s in your future!!
I had a very scary experience with an MSR stove similar to the one you are using. We lit it but the valve malfunctioned and we weren't able to turn down the gas and the flames kept getting higher. I ended up having to throw sand on it, then double-wrapping my hand in shirts and carefully unscrewing the stove from the gas can. I'm definitely afraid to try another stove now! Maybe I'll check out the Jetboil.
You two are awesome. Is there any way I can hike with you guys? Almost 62 and want through hike the Appalachian Trail either 2022 or 2023 and would like to get some overnight practicing.
Did they allow you to fly with your stove? Not being able to fly with my gear is all that’s holding me back from going places. I’m so worried about it!!
I'm pretty sure there is a side trail off of the trail you are on, to reach the Moonville Tunnel...you'll have to re-visit Ohio...! Also, I never filter water out there from the pumps - the North Trail (if I recall correctly) has more elevation than the South. Lots of folks figure 8 the two loops.

Zaleski is such a fun place to hike. I usually try to go there once a year just to have fun and not worry about big miles.

Then you have to go out there and try the lodge restaurant! Locally sourced BBQ! We drive 2 hours to get it a couple times a year it’s that good!
