Use eye protection, the steel of the chisel can get broken and shoot straight in to your eye, it happends more often than you think. Also the stone can do the same but i guess you know that.
ANd that bride on those mens eyes, they sure know what they are doing and why they are joined to this project. I doubt when they heard classical masonry work to build house, they never tought twice but in honor to get to masonry work and that displays all day long.
Brady, You have every right to experience a sense of pride in your workmanship seeing your hand hewn beams placed amongst the stonework. It looks so beautiful! I wish I knew the names of your hired helpers. The younger one doing the front is a true artist and I'm sure he learned a lot from the one who is humbly orchestrating the process. They are both incredibly skilled at this artform! You are so fortunate to have found them to help with your project. Please thank them for being willing to be recorded as they work so we can watch this process from afar! Heather it s good to see you there again! I pray your dad is progressing well. Please keep us posted on how he is doing. Be sure you both get enough rest. Take care! Sending prayers and hugs!💜💜💙💙
Dear Bradey-----There is NO other TH-camr who earns each and every penny with hard sweat and even some tears, like you do! I am in awe of how damn hard you work, each and every day, in building this dream into a reality. Keep up the great, great work!!!!
Very true. (Maybe ONE other. - check out "Escape to rural France". Dan is rebuilding a burnt out chateau - mostly by hand and often alone. ) Love to see abandoned places restored.
The stone work is just simply beautiful and the hand hewn Chestnut beams over the doorway and window amount to the icing on the cake. As the years go by, you will rewatch these videos, run your hands over the stone and wood, and the sense of satisfaction will only grow, knowing you have restored something that is hundreds of years old, and because of your dedication, it will last hundreds of years into the future...and the addition will also last literally hundreds of years too. What an amazing legacy. Bravo! I so enjoy watching the progress every Sunday and I use these videos to relax, reset, and just focus on all the beauty. It brings back my own memories of having lived in France as a highschool exchange student and then for a year of university. My wife and I were back 2 years ago to ski in Grindelwald and Zermatt, Switzerland and Chamonix, France as well as my wife's first visit to Paris. I've traveled Italy and next year will introduce my wife to amazing Italy and Greece! Keep up the amazing work you two!!!
Wow!!!!! It’s really coming together… it’s beautiful great job and the stone masons working along side you are e very dedicated… I really look forward to watching your videos… stay focused you are doing a great job.. watching from Annapolis Maryland Maryland USA 🇺🇸
I just want to say to you, Brady and to your family...Congratulations! You've worked diligently on this project and everything is coming into fruition. You've made me quite proud to be an American. The world can finally open their eyes and see that, we are just as smart and brillant in our own way. And we know how to work well, alongside others even when we don't know how to speak another country's language. I sincerely wish you guys all of the best in Italy, as I am so happy for all of you. Much love from Atlanta, Georgia, USA.
It is very satisfying to see a young family who moves across the globe, finds a property that otherwise would have just rotted after time, and turn this into their future home. Not a vacation place, a real home. Those two beautiful daughters will have gained so much respect for the two of you, it will impact the future partners the girls chose to make their lives with. You have set beautiful standards for your lives and your children's lives. I am so happy for your family. Bravo.
I am so excited too. It is awesome what you guys have done so far.Know there's much more to be done.I am 77 yrs. old.and if my health was better and if I had money.I would love to look down at the town and hear the bells ring It all looks so fresh. The air the mountains the rocks.God bless you in all you do Be safe.
Hey Guys, your work is just so damned beautiful, it really is. I could watch you shaping and fixing those stones in place all day and still want more. I get so pissed off every week when I hear those words - “Well guys that’s it for this week” ☹️ It’s bloody awesome to see you all, working as one. You must be pretty pleased and proud of yourselves at the end of each day. Thanks for bringing that 30mins of joy into my life weekly, making an old man very happy. Krgds. to all. ❤️☘️🌹
The stone window lintel and the hewed chestnut door beams against the stone walls look fantastic. Your vision for the cobbled driveway and flagstone walkway will come together as the site work reduces. Reusing the remaining stones as terrace wall fill or backyard to stone fireplace ground cover fill. A floating stone staircase to the upper room and firewood storage at the ground level. Such a visual contrast. Once this initial build phase is completed, more creative juices will surprise us. Your two masons will leave their special touches as well.
Window sill is what I've always heard. Lintel on top, sill on the bottom. Window frames for pre-built windows in wood or metal. You guys are doing a great job! I'm impressed more than I can say! Alessio is a master craftsman. Your lintels are wonderful! Have a good week! Blessed Be!
I hardly agree with all the compliments. Just gorgeous. I also want to add I don’t think I’ve ever met a couple so compatible with each other in personality, goals, articulation, and camera tech savvy. I look forward each Sunday to see ur progress.
Wonderful vlog! Have you considered putting a roof over the outdoor patio above the utility room? You would be able to sit outside in the rain and enjoy the outdoors in inclement weather and have shade.
🇨🇦 It is amazing to watch those workmen, the patience needed to chisel away at each stone before you can use it and the skill needed!! Very impressive all of those builders, including Brody!!
Can you imagine they build churches and some historical buildings how much effort and work do they need to put in,this is unbelievable to do stuff like this ..
Brady, your excitement is so fun to see. Your ability using that Adz (?) to carve your lintels is just incredible. Your determination to chip chip chip those stones, one by one. Just genius! The uniformity is a beautiful thing. It’s an honor to see you visualize, temper and craft your home! Your workmen are so excellent, and one of them compliments your work….molto bene, you say. And he says, very good to you, in turn. Reaching across the cultures so gracefully…I continue to watch and hold my breath as you haul forward! Dangerous work, all of that! Best of Luck! Ginger, from Michigan…
The stone work is absolutely stunning! And, you are quickly becoming quite the master stone mason yourself! It makes me think of how God chips away at our oh so hard and stubborn selves, and how He can turn that stubborn, recalcitrant child into His work of art! One day soon your house will be a gorgeous testament to the hard work you all have poured into it. It's very exciting to watch your vision come to life! Thank you for sharing your family's journey.
The house is getting beautiful, even with the stone mess outside. The choice of color of the wood was stunning, that will elevate the design. As Header says, your house is a piece of art.

The room is coming together beautifully. With the had cut stone and hand cut lentels, u have done a great job. I can see where ur pride is coming from. Simply beautiful ❤
I am in awe as I see how each stone is crafted with love and positivity… this seems like an enormous challenge but you are working with talented craftsmen and a great positive attitude.. you guys are such an inspiration!!
Did you think about making a rain catchment for your gutters? It would help watering veggies and an outdoor shower, very good to have in the dry months❤ Love you guys. Its relaxing to watch the stone work.
I shed a happy tear today watching you place the hand hewn beams and enjoying that moment/sense of accomplishment. I hope you look at those EVERY DANG DAY and feel that same sense of accomplishment. It is fun to see you enjoy working with and learning from the Craftsmen you have hired to help at this stage. Thanks for the hard work of documenting (and Heather’s hard work of processing) your very hard work and bringing us along! I am in awe of the energy and joy you all still have for this amazing project.

It’s so great to see them working, and at the same time, to learn how they build stone walls. It’s incredible, but you guys have the stones coming out of your property❤ I had no idea that chestnut trees could provide wood for making a house beautiful! what a blessing to watch your videos😊 thanks for sharing!
Oh, just wow! The hand hewned beams as lentils are awesome. How proud you should be…just the mere perseverance alone is astounding. Hats off, once again, from PA, USA.
Wow, those wood beams above the door and window are just gorgeous. You have a right to be so proud of all your hard work you guys have been doing. And those masons (?) are wonderful at their job. What skill!
Looking absolutely beautiful, you are correct at times the mess does get over whelming but it will all be worth it congratulations and iam enjoying these videos tremendously and telling everyone, my wife and myself are no strangers into home building we are 3 deep so far and it’s been great to work with her every second of every day ❤
Just wow... This is the first time I see someone build it this way. And those wooden beems look gorgeous next to the stones! All made by hand... You should be so proud but please don't exhaust yourself. You still have a long way to go. When I saw that stone falling on your foot I actually screamed! A month ago I had a big stone from our garden wall falling on my foot and I'm still recovering from it... Be careful 🙏
I would definitely do the stone pillars and wood rails for the wall in front of the house. I feel a solid stone wall would block alot of the view from the house . Looking amazing!
Incredible work ethic, Brady. Your channel has become a highlight of my weekends. I look forward to each new chapter. Not only is the work you're doing on the house just gorgeous, but the filming, editing and narrative are wonderful. So very enjoyable, and now I feel fully invested in your success!
It looks magnificent. Please don’t sweat how long it takes to finish. Your work will be there for the next 1,000 years. I wish you the best for the rest of your build.
Brady, the stone work is very impressive! Your chestnut beams look beautiful with the stones. I admire the square edge along the window and door edges, so cool!
Absolutely impressive craftsmanship. All if you know the Crew are doing fantastic work. You have expressed your pride and you deserve so much praise. A joy to watch
Stone buildings are so beautiful!!! Natural materials are the best. It’ll last forever, too. You guys are gaining skills that are dying out. This is a home that can be a legacy for many generations of your family.
The stonework on the new room is just so beautiful and the beams are spectacular! However, with all the loose stones everywhere, I don’t know how you haven’t turned an ankle or wrenched your back Brady! It must be so satisfying watching this new build take shape. Your stoneworkers are truly artisans! I look forward to each week as the process moves forward. BTW…. occasional views of the countryside does not disappoint. ❤
The Romans had a very good cement which they used extensively. Some even say it was superior to what we use today. I love the stone work! The house will be stupendous and I absolutely love your views. I recommend your getting safety boots though. It will save those toes / feet. Wishing you joy of your project.
A window sill? Anyways, I watch a lot of TH-camrs and I have to say you work incredibly hard. Possibly harder then any of the TH-camrs I’ve seen and I’ve seen some pretty incredible builders workers homesteaders from around the world. It’s pretty amazing and you are excited about it at the same time. You and your family deserve the best.❤

The secret of the Roman’s self-repairing concrete was only recently discovered!
