Actually the back piece is connected by two quick release pins and it takes about 1 min to take it off. Super easy to re install as well and you can open the trunk all the way.
@That Fiat I was guessing a time. If you go on my Instagram @legends_tim I made a vid of the time it takes to get it off. I had it off and on and talked in between. It’s not a race to see how fast I can get it off and on just a vid to show it happening. The quick pins are easy to pull off but the holes are super snug because if they were loose the back would probably flop around a bit.
The moment you said you want to have more seat time before adding aero was the moment you got my like. As someone wo enjoys tracktime alot I realy appreciate your way of thinking! Great content as usual, greeting from Germany - come over and try out the hockenheimring and the Nordschleife ;D
"hey babe look at this cool convertible I got us!!!!" Fast Forward some time later "SO HEY ITS A TRACK CAR AND A HARD TOP NOW :D!!!" Gotta love Dut with the FULL send always 🤣
Arrgghhh!!! How many times Japanese needs to prove that all those detail works done so precisely, and how they show the world that they have the best parts of the world which everybody gonna loves it!! DAMN!!! I'm so excited to see the complete body kit mounted into Dustin S2000!!!😍😍
Dude... this video is excellent. I've always wanted to buy a higher mileage S2000 with broken soft top for way under market value and rip out and use the savings to restore it and buy a Spoon hardtop. There are not many resources or information about the Spoon Hardtop. This video is very informative man!
probably my favorite build you have right now because it's cool to see the car's transformation for the track but in the same sense we all get to see your progression on the track as well.
Im up! Im up! Its 2am here and I can't be late for this awesome video that I was waiting for, the roof installation 😂 This car went from sunday cruise, to sunday track day real quick! Gotta love all the efforts and dedication to spoon this thing out Dustin!
What's cool about that is that you could run just the first piece of the hard top if you wanted to. All it needs is a small window in case you still want your trunk lol
I remember when you were in Japan and going to visit the spoon Factory, you were so happy and it's really nice to see that you are building your own spoon track car! Enjoy the hell put of it! 😎🤟🏼
Dont throw away that soft top. if you get a new top, it doesn't come with a new frame, could have sold that for a pretty penny if the frame was in good shape
The hard tops look great, but man, S2Ks are so much better to drive with the top down. That's how they were meant to be driven. Visibility is so much better too. Looks dope though!
Literally said you needed to get that exact roof on your first S2000 video! 👍👍👍 Best looking roof out there! Out of interest are you going to paint the roof?
Finally replacing that busted ass soft top. NOICE! Just saw a fully wire tucked 44k mile S2K on the lot today and I was like damn, DW would like this. Thing is mint af too. When we gonna see that AP1 swap so you can get those extra revs back?
My cousin Mark has that hard top and asm flares as well as the spoon hood and front bumper on his ap1 as well and he runs the same wheels spoon runs and of course spoon brakes.
Back when he did his spoon ap1 build it was hard to find brand new spoon parts, so he was forced to trade his h22 swapped spoon inspired eg6 with spoon brakes and rega master evo, with spoon mirrors hood and sir rear wing for spoon parts for his ap1.
Are you going to color match the Hardtop silver or are you going to wrap the whole car a different color? The spoon Hardtop looks sick but OEM Hardtop just looks so clean on s2ks .
“If I die..I die gettin spoon” 😂
Rest in peace trunk, you'll never be opened again...
Why was the top two piece then?
@@KK001 it can only be taken apart and you can't open the trunk all the way anymore unless you make custom props or hinges, pretty unique piece tho!
Actually the back piece is connected by two quick release pins and it takes about 1 min to take it off. Super easy to re install as well and you can open the trunk all the way.
@@timrichards7015 20 sec.
Most Quick release pins take around 3 sec. Or faster to take off,

I dare you brother, do a yellow and blue spoon full car wrap lol
Was thinking the same thing 😂
Oh yes. Would love to see it

🙌🏼🙌🏼
Looks crazy with that Hard Top man! Keen to see this project unfold :)
Likewise
I like your content man. Keep it up
You guys should make a cinematic
Bro the Spoon drip for the s2k is gonna be so real!
"hey babe look at this cool convertible I got us!!!!"
Fast Forward some time later
"SO HEY ITS A TRACK CAR AND A HARD TOP NOW :D!!!"
Gotta love Dut with the FULL send always 🤣
The moment you realize that the parts installed was actually more expensive than the actual car. Cant wait to see the finished project s2k! 👏😂
The S2K build has been so entertaining. Can’t wait to see it finished and ripping.
Been one of my favs to date
So glad you’re not just building a monster engine first and actually getting seat time! More people need to do this!

Love these types of videos! Keep it up brother 🤙🏼
The s2k is quickly becoming my favorite build OMG I LOVE THAT HARD TOP SO MUCH
probably my favorite build you have right now because it's cool to see the car's transformation for the track but in the same sense we all get to see your progression on the track as well.
It’s all coming together man . Looking great . Tim and Ken just banging shit out
That looks almost like a BMW E85 Z4 Coupé, nice
It’s cool to finally see an s2k being built from scratch from one of my favorite TH-camrs, keep doing what ur doing bro loving the car 🔥
Im up! Im up! Its 2am here and I can't be late for this awesome video that I was waiting for, the roof installation 😂 This car went from sunday cruise, to sunday track day real quick! Gotta love all the efforts and dedication to spoon this thing out Dustin!
Dut: No brakes oh God its scary
Also Dut: Doing donuuuutsssss
Dustin I am glad that you are sticking with your S2K...It is awesome. Can't wait to see you in GT Racing.
I’m stoked you’re one the few putting a spotlight on the s2k! Legit content
Bro, I'm doing a S2000 build right now and the Spoon envy is really real! Such a sick build you got going!
Loving the S2K build man! Keep it coming.
Dustin and Evan have the best taste in car mods
The S2K is really coming together so nicely! Makes me wish all the S2Ks in my area weren't so expensively priced. haha.
It is possible to keep the soft top and the spoon hardtop? send me the manual please.
Thanks,.
so nice man ! stunning !
Wow didn't think the hard top would look like that... But it's sooooo cool!!!
Hell yeah!! Exactly what I was hoping you would do since you got the s2k!
The S2000 looks insane with that kit Keen to see it done
The spoon hard top really makes a huge difference! Looks so good!!!
Hardtop looks sick man!! Also your driver side brake light is out 😉
Tim needs a build on this channel. Show the bro some love!
What's cool about that is that you could run just the first piece of the hard top if you wanted to. All it needs is a small window in case you still want your trunk lol
Love the top! Can’t wait to see how fire the whole kits going to be
Damn dude, that looks amazing. By far the best spoon part.
Hell yeah nothing is shaping up just nicely
It's looking gooood bro
What is the brand of the hard top? I don’t think he said it
I think its called fork
Its spoon
Naqib Syahiran are you sure?
Love with the hardtop it transforms the looks so much
Love watching your vids man keep it up
Loving this build Dut, looking forward to seeing you rip more tracks
I remember when you were in Japan and going to visit the spoon Factory, you were so happy and it's really nice to see that you are building your own spoon track car! Enjoy the hell put of it! 😎🤟🏼
Looks sick. You know what would be sick. If you laminate it with carbon. Maybe do a collab with street bandito😍🔥
Dont throw away that soft top. if you get a new top, it doesn't come with a new frame, could have sold that for a pretty penny if the frame was in good shape

So glad you’re doing the spoon kit, by far my favorite
That Spoon hard top is killer!! Can’t wait until the rest of the kit is on
Can’t wait for the full kit to be on Dustin!
This is what I’ve wanted congrats
Dustin really loves spooning his s2k
OMFG, I LOVE THE HARD TOP S2000
How do you connect the trunk with the hardtop itself? Seems that it doesn't have any kind of bolts on.
The piece that goes over the truck, how does it connect? Or what makes it stay?
How does the trunk open? Do u have to remove roof.? Or does the rear part have a hinge and then that allows trunk to open ?
NOW IT LOOKS REALLL GOOOD
Finally replacing that busted ass soft top. NOICE! Just saw a fully wire tucked 44k mile S2K on the lot today and I was like damn, DW would like this. Thing is mint af too.
When we gonna see that AP1 swap so you can get those extra revs back?
This might be a dumb question but how do you open the trunk?
How’s the side window fitment? Are you able to run the hardtop without the rear hatch piece?
Why would you throw away the soft top? Yea it's busted but can be refurbished by another s2000 owner who needs one
I saw your car on the freeway Saturday and didn’t notice it was you but I was like “nice s2k” 😂
Can you still access the trunk with the spoon HT? And what is the thickness of those spoon spacers? Thanks
How are you supposed to open the trunk with that hardtop
My favorite build on this channel!!! That S2k is coming along really nicely 🔥🔥🏎🔥
WOW! It (almost) looks like a different 🚗!
great awesome upgrades Dustin!! quick question did u take out the 2 soft top motors?
Yes they came off with the top you can see them in the vid
Dam ,can't wait till it's fully assembled
She looks so so gooood!! 🔥
big swag dut!
s2k lookin sick
Does the truck still open with the full hard top?
you should have weight the motors for the automatic soft top if those were also in the car since id assume that they weigh a fair bit aswell
“No brakes, that’s scary”
*proceeds to clutch kick into a donut*
Your time attack build is way better then the drift build. Plus you seem to have way more fun with it too. Things schweet
What happens if you want to open the boot with the Spoon hardtop installed?
I think the spoon hardtop just makes the ap1 s2k so much sexier.
honestly, i don't like the rear portion of the hard top. the original shape is so nice
"Throwing away" the soft top hardware was dumb. These parts are scarce and could have been helpful to an other car.
one of my most favorite mods for the s2k!!
Before I even watch this, Cannot wait to get my spoon roof on my s2k
Damn it just keeps getting better
do you plan to wrap the S2K or paint/wrap the hard top?
Damn I needed that softtop frame and the motors
So what happens when the r32 is done?
Did you put oil in the diff
Did he throw away the soft top wth the latches 😱
I hope this becomes a full Spoon build even with the livery
my guy Ken putting in the work, better hook him up Dustin lol
Hi Dustin, I was wondering how is the clearance of the roll bar to the Spoon Hardtop?
My cousin Mark has that hard top and asm flares as well as the spoon hood and front bumper on his ap1 as well and he runs the same wheels spoon runs and of course spoon brakes.
Back when he did his spoon ap1 build it was hard to find brand new spoon parts, so he was forced to trade his h22 swapped spoon inspired eg6 with spoon brakes and rega master evo, with spoon mirrors hood and sir rear wing for spoon parts for his ap1.
Can you still open the trunk with the spoon hard top? Or do you have to remove it everytime?
Paint and ClearBra for the S2K???
What’s the song at 4:00?
Dustin will you be putting hinges to the hardtop to access the trunk?
Already on
So does the trunk still open ?
Lol I love S2K. Is it really the best driver car? Looking at it just makes me think holy crossfire.. but it look great
You should wrap it spoon colors with all those spoon goodies lol hardtop makes it look way better
Any websites to find an engine for a BRZ??
Are you going to color match the Hardtop silver or are you going to wrap the whole car a different color? The spoon Hardtop looks sick but OEM Hardtop just looks so clean on s2ks .
