Thanks, Shawn! I am unable to take notes and listen in class simultaneously. I need to record and transcribe the lectures into a doc and edit and study after I get home. Any Otter AI or other accessible tutorials are welcome :-)
Otter AI can do automated summaries. That's a really useful feature when you are using it to replace a human note taker. It would have been nice for you to show that in this video. It seems like there's a lot of mental energy being expended on selecting the right parts of the transcript and writing notes on them.. so you're still writing notes. If the summary is good enough then that should reduce some of the need for that.
2:05 How to let Otter AI to also record the content that are outputting audio in you earphone/speakers like you are wathcing a youtube. My otter only records the audio from my microphone.
That's a great question! There is a guide on the web somewhere - I think you have to change your computer settings for default mic. But your not crazy - it's super complicated for no reason
*_Just discovered this a few days back. I'm thinking of immediately paying for a subscription but I might test the free version first. Perfect for me as a Clerk/Secretary at my work. The fact that it is very good in transcribing audio to text, you can simply select the whole text and let _**_#ChatGPT_**_ summarize the whole meeting or lecture for you or give you bullets/highlights from the same. Can't wait to try this out in the office tomorrow._*
@@TheAccessibilityGuy *_A combination of all these simple but very powerful tools make us wonder why AI only became mainstream now. It's like magic we never knew we'd ever have!_*
Thanks for this. Is there a way to record a meeting/class this way, but while using a headset? My work/study space is very busy and loud and i cannot always hear my classes without a headset, but it would be very helpful for notetaking.
I think there is a way that you can change the microphone to record system audio instead of from the microphone. I don't know off the top of my head how to set that setting though
Is there any other AI note taking ? I use Supernormal free version but it only takes notes on virtual meetings i'm looking for one that takes in Person meeting F2F ?
Unfortunately I am not aware of any tool that can do that. I have heard that speechify has much better settings for voice recognition of non -english accents and languages.
Excellent video. Great pace, and showed enough detail. Brilliant. Thank you!
Appreciate you!

Really excellent overview of the product. Well done!
Thank you for that. I appreciate it

Totally agree. Super powerful tool. Otter can also provide a summary - but I'm with you on chatgpt.

@@macky2green personally I think we're just scratching the surface. I can't wait to see the future - especially from an accessibility perspective.

I love your video. Very well explained
Just 1 question. Does it take notes in English only or could I use it for taking notes in spanish?
At this time otter can only transcribe in English.

I would check out the software called glean
I didn't see where it's able to summarize the conversation? Is that possible with otter ai?
Unfortunately, otter just came out with a major update. So now you're going to want to use otter chat?
Does this pick up sounds when the teacher is away from mic? Can you add a microphone?
This will record all audio that is picked up. It doesn't really pick up non talking sounds though.
Do you know of an ai tool I can use with Otter to reduce thick Indian accents? Like a plugin maybe?
Unfortunately I am not aware of any tool that can do that. I have heard that speechify has much better settings for voice recognition of non -english accents and languages.
Is there a way to export the whole text (without the time stamps) - in the free version?
Hmm. That is a good question. There should be an option to deselect the time stamp feature.
They're definitely is. At least for the paid version and I think for the free one too.
Does it work with powerpoints?
If you're asking if you could upload a PowerPoint like you can in glean, the answer would be no.
