CONS: NO HID headlights AND Android Auto or Apple Car Play ( COME ON ITS ALMOST 2018 )

Or you can be one of a kind and retrofit your headlights #TRS
The projector tubes are not designed for HID headlight bulbs, So you'll get mediocre light output and excessive glare... In order to rectify the problem you'll have to take apart the headlights and change the projectors to ones that are designed for the HID bulb... Still either way will void warranty if you have any electrical issues.

If you're buying a car for Apple CarPlay, you shouldn't be buying a car. Yes, some cars might have more features than others and that may sway you but overall, this looks the best and reliability wise, is the best. It's an actual SUV. Not like the hideous Pilot. That minivan-SUV looks horrendous from all angles. Not to mention, its reliability ratings have gone down.

Honestly, you're going to a car lot wanting a computer!?!? Then why don't you go to a computer store and ask them to look at their automobiles!!

most likely its the transmission to blame. Not the engine itself. The 6 cylinder gets a much better transmision than the 4 in this vehicle.
I test drive the 2011 Honda Pilot and 2011 Toyota Highlander. I decided to go with the Pilot back in 2011. Now, I am considering the Highlighter due to less maintain cost.

Nice review as always KBB. One thing though about this video. You kept showing the SE model while talking about the base LE. The SE is above the blue XLE you were testing.
People please stop worrying about computers on a vehicle, a radio and navigation is all you need
Carplay and Android Auto Navigation is the whole and only reason I want that functionality. Factory navs are shit and don't update and generally find a worse route to put you on

They don't want to be tied to a 3rd party system. They have no plans to implement them.

I would hope you wouldn't buy a vehicle based on the infotainment unit. That should be the 100th thing down on the priority list.

This car is cool
Toyota has lost their view for safety and tech. Not even offering Apple Car Play nor Android Auto is not acceptable. The brake distance from 60 to 0 is always 10 to 15% longer than its competitors. Combine that with brake pedal issues, faulty airbags, uncomfortable seats, small space, etc....
Real MPG on even hybrid is 25.6, experience. Suck it up, and interior is congested, interior lights are like who cares if working or not, and vent system sucks when you drive on highway..
Terrible steering. Continually having to adjust as it vears left and then right. Watch the video; you will see him continually adjusting the wheel as he drives. Also lost navigation and neither dealer nor Toyota USA have a solution. To bad. Otherwise a nice car. But steering issue takes the pleasure out of driving.

Get a vasectomy then get the highlander! The smooth ride eases the post-op pain.
The 4 cylinder probably isn't powerful enough to push it along the highway at an efficient engine output, while the v6 would easily propel it at the higher speeds due to the more powerful nature. It's like driving a Prius at ten tenths vs keeping up with it in an M3, the M3 would likely be more fuel efficient than the Prius.

The front looks like a toyota Innova 2017 model, which is available in asian counties.
Just dont understand why make those third seats so small. Can u extend it a little bit and make it comfortable, then um pretty sure you will gor the share toyota.
U tested it when this model first came to market a few years ago....maybe that's the reason why it is so familiar. 😉
You are right about multimedia controls, same with 18 Camry. Driving this car for a week, but still can not memories the controls.

Well kbb toyota highlander is known as toyota klugger in Japan and Australia.
Prefer the room, styling, and tech on the traverse compared to pilot and Highlander.
Honda Pilot is much better. The only toyota advantage is the hybrid model.
The XLE has halogen headlights 😢😢

This video ruined me. I love everything about it and ended up buying a 2018 because of it. However, every time I use the automatic tailgate, I'm reminded of the part of this video that makes fun of how slow it is!
