Coming back to watch this in 2024. This never gets old. What a GREAT band! Rythmically tight and sonically loose at the same time, with clever and playful compositions. Mush is still a personal favourite 🙌
My condolences to Tyson's family and friends. At least we have this classic recording to display his talent and clearly showing his contribution to the Mush sound. Revising My Fee performance here is superlative. I think Mush have enough talent to evolve and continue on their journey. I hope to you see them in Glasgow soon.
@@pejpm Unfortunately Steven had been suffering from mental health issues like so many young people in today's society but services are still very poor. Out of respect to Steven's family I will not say the exact cause of death because I know my family didn't want to dwell on that for someone we lost. The real issue was lack of government investment in schemes that could make a real impact.i recommend Mind website and Blindboy podcast for those affected.
God bless KEXP for serving us up with all the variety they do. I mayn't dig it all, but it is wonderful. This is great, jaguar inspired, pop for pogoing teenagers.
I saw these guys open for Stereolab in Manchester and I was really impressed tbh. The album is pretty decent too, though they are very much a work in progress imo.
Glad someone thought it as well. Edit: just learned they are from Leeds and singing in english. Listened to a studio recorded version and the words are clear. Still an awesome band definitely adding to me rotation.
leave it to KEXP to find the best original artists. We know the mainstream wont do it. this sound reminds me of talking heads :) love it prolly wouldnt be able to handle on acid tho. be having a panic attack ha
Of course the mainstream wouldn't pick this up, most people would think this music isn't good. What do you think is good about this? IMO that vocal style gets old pretty quickly. They do some interesting stuff instrumentally here and there, but most of it blends together after awhile. Some of it even sounding pretty similar to arctic monkeys first album, which is 13 years old at this point. So it's I'd have a hard time saying this is original even though it's weird and different compared to the mainstream. Also, that final song goes on waaaaay to long without much change throughout. That's their worst song imo, but takes up a 3rd of their set.
@@OneAndZer0 it's catchy, well crafted, interesting, jammy post punk/indie. sounds nothing like arctic monkeys debut in my opinion. I'd say this is pretty original sounding tbh man. all down to opinion tho I guess
Congrats at playing B-52s licks and singing like Devo. Sorry guys, the 80s is gone and both of those bands had at least a shred of originality. Oh and Plastic Bertrand too.

@@AcesArtie I can read between the lines, that’s really sad. Hope he’s at least finally at peace.

Alternative Facts is very Parquet Courts ... just with weird accents

Un peu post-punk, un peu math rock, un peu garage... C'est bon en tous cas !
MUSH!
Wow., like a Melbourne , Aus pub, 1979.

well perfect name as they are a bit of a mish mush, lyrically challenged , in need of a new song writer.
too late for being good with this style of music and stage presentations. so no, not fresh at all.
This sucks
Years ago, Bun E. Carlos + John Hodgman had a baby; he grew up to be this drummer.
