This song reached me after our third lost pregnancy. Holding our only son and seeing his endearing smile and laughter is a beautiful gift amid our sorrow. The weight we carry in our hearts, filled with love from our family, makes me reflect on how, for those of us in Christ, we bear a heavy heart with the very beat of Christ. Thank you, My Epic, for creating such a poignant piece. Your lyrics resonate deeply with us. Keep inspiring and touching lives with your music.
Phenomenal. Filmed in slow-mo, which means Aaron had to be singing this super fast to edit play back his singing at normal speed. The planning required to get the timing of this effect is impressive! Thanks to Portland neighborhood for giving us a window into your joyous lives. Friendly and hard-working neighborhood, squirt guns, sparklers, bikes and skateboards on the street take me back to my small-town childhood. The slowmo effect reminds me that life happens fast around you sometimes. Slow down and focus on what's good in the present, folks! Build those memories!
Long time My Epic lover, recent dad and community builder. This made me weep while feeding my daughter lunch in her high chair. Can’t wait for the album.
One of the reasons I love Valleyheart so much is because they remind me of My Epic. This song is a perfect example of a song that feels perfectly My Epic and Valleyheart.
We moved to Louisville, KY in 2021 for seminary. This is a rad neighborhood. A great testament to family and start to a new My Epic era. Stoked to see all that is coming.
Beautiful, as a parent and a kid who recently lost one of my beloved parents this hits me in a way I didn’t expect to be hit. This is so nostalgic, very smashing pumpkins 1979 vibes, cracks me wide open. You guys are insanely talented. Some art is just other worldly, tapping into something unseen and unexplained only felt. You guys know exactly what I mean. God bless.
May God give you the strength you need for your todays and tomorrows. He will make a way where there seems to be none ❤ Surrender your heart and future to Jesus and the cares you feel will dim in the light of His love and grace ❤ "Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up." James 4:10
WOW!! Thank you, Aaron and gang, for dropping this. This is phenomenal. Reminds me of the 90’s Smashing Pumpkins. All of your lyrics are nothing short of poetical genius. Your music has helped me through some of the most difficult times in my life. This music is anointed by the Holy Spirit! Please Keep writing and playing!!
I’m so glad I clicked on this recommended song , absolutely beautiful!! Both the song, the sound, and the video! 🖤 definitely checking out more by you guys! Wow, I didn’t know it was possible for music to sound like this 😍
Let us know what other songs you end up loving by My Epic. They don't usually have joyful songs, they tend to be contemplative, profound, and of course generally epic. This is their second most joyful song outside of childbodybride.
That’s 26th and Slevin. I grew up on 25th and St. Cecilia. I was small with a heavy heart, one with which I still struggle to lift. My heart not half as heavy as most. I hope that all kids find love and happiness to help carve a path out of heavy circumstances handed down generation after generation. Much love and strength to those working to lift themselves up ❤. Awesome song
3:05 A very special appearance by the legendary Portland Tunnel of Love! Oh la la! I love my neighborhood and my neighbors SO MUCH. ❤❤❤ Thank you guys for this it is absolutely beautiful and a worthy tribute to this sometimes weird, often wacky, occasionally even woeful but always wonderful place we call home!!😊😊😊
"Your heart is all your own but you will carry ours along, with so many beats in one chest sometimes you crush me with the weight of it, small as you are, you got a really heavy heart... Don't be scared to show your hand, take our love and make your own way, I bet they never see it coming, small as you are, you got a really heavy heart." 💕
This track is something special. Truly. Keep creating gents. I remember seeing y’all on a Houston church stage circa 2010 and it impacted me heavily. Glad y’all are still around ❤
Man I just cried. As someone who grew up in Portland , went to JB Atkinson . I still have family in Portland but I got out. I had struggled with substance abuse and it’s been 10 years this New Year’s Eve! Great song , with great lyrics to make people feel the emotions behind the song. Plus music has healed a lot of open wounds for me. Thank you guys for this !
I’ve listened to this song probably 20 times & I’ve cried every time. I recently lost my grandmother & there’s just something in this song that evokes such raw nostalgia in me
I am just so frustrated with Tooth And Nail Records horrible decision to not release this album on CD. 😖 My Epic is one of my most cherished bands and yet knowing I will be excluded from buying and owning their new album in my CD collection just kills the excitement I should be experiencing. This song sounds great from what I can hear through my tiny 6S phone speakers but it truly sucks if this will be the only way I can listen to this album if it doesn’t get released on CD. 😞
It sucks that you're feeling this way. Do you not have headphones? If you don't, I'd be happy to pitch in $20 to help you get some. Seriously. Let me know.
@@brycewalburn3926 Thank you, I appreciate that. I don’t have any headphones but I don’t think it would take away the sting of not being able to own this album. Plus, with me already having hearing trouble after chronic inner ear infections, I don’t know how good it would be for me to use headphones. I just know that on my CD player the sound is really good and that is how I already enjoy all of the other My Epic albums. But once again, I really do appreciate the offer. 🙂
@@FlawedCoil82 I know it's not the same, but some CD players let you connect your phone with an AUX cable; you could try that. Or you could get a Bluetooth speaker. (Also those spiders are cool)
@@zinnyzxx I haven’t said anything recently. After nothing but crickets from them and their God-awful new record label, I simply must accept that My Epic’s final, “official” release was VIOLENCE. It is a damn shame because they were a phenomenal band, but their extremely unfortunate decision to go to such a crap record label (which detests their customers and deliberately chased off at least one of My Epic’s most passionate fans) has forced me to mourn the premature loss of one of my favorite bands.
i love this band to death, let me start by saying that. been a fan since 2009. but i challenge every single one of you guys to close your eyes and pretend that Steve Smith from American Dad is singing this song. have fun 🤣

Def listen to blacklight by my epic if you haven’t. It helped me and my wife deal with our miscarriages. Very powerful song.
@@elbonsprouse8681 it's one we love too.
Masterpiece. The most accessible My Epic has ever sounded, while never losing sight of the profound.
Tooth and Nail couldn't have added a better band on this whole planet. This song speaks to me, and it's gonna speak to many!
This gave me chills, dad chills, almost cried, probably should have. Beautiful.
Been listening since ‘Yet’, now I’m about to be a dad and this hits hard. So excited for the album.

Yeah that brought out the dad emotion in me. Def cried towards the end. Community is so damn important for all of us. Great song too.

My Epic will always be the GOAT.
A surprising gift. Their fans are the lucky few. May truth and blessing be multiplied to this special band
I'm SO STINKIN' PUMPED FOR THIS ALBUM!!!!!!
This is the best My Epic era yet
My Epic sounding good in 2024. glad yall still around. also just donning on me how much ME sound like the band Valleyheart
The greatest Christian band that doesn't get as much love as they deserve.
This album is going to be worth the wait.

Just countless tears of joy and tears of grief wrapped up in one song. Thank you for making something so relevant, accessible and authentic.
Love it! On point as always, and keeping the focus on Christ.

Perfection ❤ promise I’m not crying, I’ve got something in my eye…
gorgeous song
Love this band. Unique voice, sound, and love for God all in one.
Sounds like a heavier version of “Dare You to Move” by Switchfoot at the melodic guitar parts.
This band everytime touch our hearts, thanks for this!
Tears… and I’m not even a father yet. Epic song!!
'My' Epic song, even! ❤
Best video from your entire run, to date, gentlemen.
Wow. I'm speechless. That was amazing.
Really incredible. The video is phenomenal and complements the song perfectly.
You guys have me cried again, this is just beautiful my god
Same here
Been waiting for this album and it’s already a blessing. Awesome video too!

This video made me feel something. Love you guys.
Preordered vinyl, this is all I needed to hear. Plus I'm a sucker for blue vinyl, so of course.
Awesome video and awesome song!!
incredible. y'all are sounding better than ever.
I am going to cry my eyes out when they tour with valleyheart again one day
That voice OMG ❤ Aaron
This is so good, guys!!
I just want to add to the praise in the comments section. Really love this video - I think I'll watch it again now.

This song came out right before I found out my first child is gonna be a girl. Gotta be real, I think my first future dad tears came from this.
This song is important to me.
❤❤❤
So good!
Is that Alex Camarena on drums?
Good eye! Yep
I went to google maps and found all of these locations.
God bless.

im just now watching this wtf i live in louisville LOL
Merrica 🇺🇸
Fuzzzzzzzz
I hope there is some screaming on this album
Off road minivan vibes
Yep, but this band is pretty old.
Backwards. Off Road Minivan started in 2018, My Epic started in 2004. ORM has My Epic vibes.
The communications infrastructure where this was filmed is terrible
Reminds me of Better Off here.
