The hammond collection dinosaurs are something that I have been waiting for a long time since they finally have posability instead of biting gimmick. Old jurassic park toys literally only have leg articulations and thats it.
I don't get the hammond collection. Who is the target demographic? What's the niche? Is it for older collectors like us? Or are they just aimed at children and just happen to have good QC?
Hi Jobby, My name is Sam I’m from the Dallas, TX area. Im posting this comment to tell you thank you. Thank you for everything you do I myself am a collector of both transformers and the forbidden model kits that shall not be named. You’ve been an escape for me since 2016 when it comes to validating my own financial decline for buying these products. Thanks for everything man. Love you
Damn, even in just the size comparison, Light of Peace looks so good on camera. Even though I know a review for it won't be out till December, still can't wait to see it. And God dayum, that Hiya Toys Godzilla looks so damn good. I love my SH Monsterarts one, but that headsculpt looks perfect. And the fact that they can do that while still making the sculpt look amazing, the articulation spectacular, and not having consistent QC Issues, all at an affordable price that high end Godzilla figures SHOULD be (they definitely were that price back in 2012... God I can't believe I've been collecting these that long) it just makes me wish even more that SHMA would pick up their slack and either give us better prices (definitely not happening) or I dunno, give us some f***ing accesories. I'd hope offerings like this would proivde that much needed competition to make SHMA improve, but this'll probably just be like NECA where they make a few in one line, and then disappear off the face of the Earth. Only "Problem" I have with it is that size, since I'm already so deep down the SHMA Rabbit hole, he wouldn't be the same height as the other Godzillas... which I guess would actually be a good thing since technically besides the Mountain that is Godzilla Earth, Godzilla 2019/2021 is supposed to be the tallest Godzilla, even taller than Shin. But I already have literally over a dozen Godzillas I think I gotta call it there. But what I do know is I will DEFINITELY pick up the Hiya toys Rodan and Mothra, those look FANTASTIC, and literally look perfect, and is what the SHMA Versions should've been. And if those are bigger I definitely don't mind cause the SHMA versions are so damn Tiny.
@@archiecollumd.1218 Eh it just comes with the territory of comment sections nowadays especially because like with ones like this where you're bound to have a kid in the comments that thinks they're comedy gold for doing the most unoriginal thing.
Because you mentioned it, will just say, the Rod's Random Work upgrades (feet and teeth, I'm actually fine with the standard eyes, personally) are AWESOME, especially the feet. The teeth are difficult to install (it's QUITE tricky to remove the head parts without causing damage), but the feet are SPECTACULAR!
I'm glad Hiya is providing a suitable replacement for SH Monsterarts. I ended up passing on the 1999 Gamera due to the inflated price and lack of accessories compared to the 96 version. Here's hoping Hiya will eventually do the turtle justice.
Every time I watch one of your reviews I always have to remind myself, hey wait there’s a post credit scene and now I look forward to them more than I look forward to marvel movies
0:17 I feel obliged to mention that Godzilla was originally a nuclear-mutated version of a Godzillasaurus. Which *is* a dinosaur. So Godzilla is a dinosaur (at least in the older continuities). Even better since there’s an actual dinosaur named Gojirasaurus (though its legitimacy is disputed).
I didn't know about the custom replacement parts for the rex until this video. Definitely gonna get some for the feet as i really don't like the look of the original design for them. Though it's an unfortunate trend with mattel and their dinosaur figures as they seem to think that they can't stand with small feet even though fans have prooved otherwise.
I love the hammond T-Rex, not only for the quality but you're also getting a big figure for the cost that is lower than those of SHM. This also applies to most Hammond/Legacy collection dinos
Here's an idea for a future toy review, and keep in mind I don't know if the figure is any good, the Transformers/Jurassic Park Crossover Set. Which consists of a T-Rex that can transform into a robot, (of which, if I'm not mistaken, is a recoloring of Beast Wars' Megatron from the War for Cybertron series,) and one of those Jurassic Park tour ride vehicle that can also transform into a robot.
@@RealCapeCrusader I know. It felt like a missed opportunity. Especially since Jobby, A; has a lot of toy reviews, which are also some of his most popular videos, that are Transformers figures, and B; mentioned that he grew up with the original Jurassic Park movie. Probably the ultimate example of a "Swing and a Miss".
FYI, on the Hammond Trex, the rubber joint that's closer to the arms does not bend to the right. It can bend to the left, but not the right. You'll know what I mean when you try it for yourself. It's a design flaw of the joint (I opened it up)
Seeing as you've mentioned wanting an articulated T Rex figure to the scale and quality of the SH Monsterarts line, I wonder what your thoughts are on the Beasts of the Mesozoic Tyrannosaurus that they're going to be coming out with soon. I know in the past I believe you had reviewed a couple of their raptor figures. Curious if they have improved since their first outing.
I need you to know that my favorite thing about these wonderful reviews you do is you saying “ball-joint” multiple times in quick succession whenever you have a figure with a long tail.

The Beasts of the Mezosoic 1/18th Rex is a pretty similar size to Hammond collection, but it is pretty expensive. The 1/35th scale is more in line with Monsterarts in terms of scale, but both have insane detail

Along with a King of the Monsters version with different paint, and all the other figures we’ve already confirmed to be getting. Kong, Rodan, and Mothra are already released. Ghidorah, Burning Godzilla, and Atomic Godzilla are on the way, and they even revealed a Skullcrawler! One of the best comparisons you could’ve used for this figure was the JP/Transformers crossover figure, Tyrannocon Rex. Assuming you got a second set, anyway.
