- Hello everyone and welcome back to American Ultras Talk! Today we made a tier list of our 15 highest profile dual nationals that haven't committed yet, ranking them in 4 tiers to decide which players should be the main targets! Great takes. I think Koleosjo is more gettable now than even 6 months ago. Fingers crossed.
I think some of these like Barajas and other should be prioritized a little higher. The only way we push the envelope is by improving the pool in total, and that means winning dual national recruitment, especially for next few years. (Side note: totally agree with commenter who said we need to focus on developing true homegrown talent and rely less on dual nationals… but that also takes time).
We do value all of these dual nationals as well as all our other ones, but at the same time we have to pick our battles wisely since getting all of them is going to be less and less achievable as we improve as a footballing nation

Maybe I need to iron out my criteria?
Solid list. A couple things I would change, notably bringing down Cremaschi to no need. Not only do I not think he’ll ever be USMNT quality, but it’s not even a battle anymore because it’s very clear he’ll never be Argentina quality. Campbell has officially been flipped so he can be taken off the list entirely. The rest I agree with, maybe there’s a slight change here and there but that all comes down to personal preference. For example, for sentimental reasons I’d still put Buck in no need.

You missed a bunch of dual-National players that should be on this list - Neri, Figueroa, Dettoni, Kochen and Banks. Maybe you’re already counting them in the US side of the ledger, but I think they are all important gets.
I think Bajraktarevic’s play at the U23s will warrant him a spot on the Olympic team and ultimately be a MNT player.
I think Barajas is gettable, and he plays at a position that is of high value to the US.
Tanton is fringe.
I would rather see the US develop their own in Wiley and Tolkin and Gomez than trying to add someone like Brown who I’m not sure is any better than the 3 mentioned.
Those are all great picks, most of them we do view as basically committed such as Figueroa, Kochen, and Neri but the main thing is that we didn’t want to make the video too long, and we said that we’d be open to doing a part 2 talking about players like those who aren’t playing at the senior level yet. Definitely agree that they’re all important though! Agreed that Tanton is fringe and Esmir has been playing well at the Olympics, he’s certainly surprised me at that level. I don’t think Barajas is gettable simply due to how much he seems to love Mexico, but I would love to have him given our current wing depth. I see your point about developing our own for LBs since we seem to have a bunch now, it just wouldn’t hurt to have another option in the mix but hopefully we don’t need Brown and our other youngsters live up to the hype!

Do you think it’s looking nice for landing Koleosho? :) I see Koleosho as a more technical Weah. Extremely fast for his age but more technical than Weah. About the same speed as Weah 4 years younger. He’s only going to get faster and more technical. We need Koleosho BAD
Definitely agree that we need Koleosho, he’s an upgrade on Weah now and for the future. As for the likelihood of that, he’ll still choose Italy if they call him up but eventually he’s gonna become impatient, probably after the Euros/Copa America

I don’t see a world where he gets an Italy call up before the Euros, especially since he’s not even getting minutes for their U21s. However, I think it’s possible that he gets a call up immediately after that, since they’ll have a little time to experiment and they did a similar thing with Willy Gnonto last year when he was having a great season with Leeds

Yeah but to me that only prevents him from joining us sooner, it doesn’t change his Italy status since he’ll be back before the summer. It just means it could take a little longer for him to give up on Italy

Bajrektarevic is playing MLS now which is good, he looks good i would like to keep him but it's not the end if you dont get him. Also in my opinion MLS next pro is dumb playing is USL like they used to would be so much better for prospects they arent playing against only children they played grown men but MLS couldnt just pay a cut rate to stay there and Buck is never playing for England is he beating out Bellingham, Rice, Mainoo, and all the others he isn't even close to a depth piece for them no big loss we have a ton of midfielders at or above his level at that age, the midfield will be the hardest spot to get into LDLT has nearly 10 goal contributions in La Liga and is on the bubble and the oldest guy is like 25. I want Luna and at the very least dont want him with Mexico. Also any kids who want to play for Mexico be prepared to get your career ruined by the federation when they hold you hostage in liga MX until you're 26 or so and all your hype is gone.
Agreed that any 🇺🇸🇲🇽 dual nationals automatically become a higher priority, this goes for Fidel Barajas, Brian Gutiérrez, Jonathan Gómez, and Obed Vargas as well as Luna. Luckily it looks like most of them prefer the US. Esmir has really impressed us this season and has become a top priority because he could easily play for 🇧🇦 right now and already looks like one of our best winger prospects. Buck isn’t a concern, like you said he’ll never play for England and will be forced to come crawling back to the USMNT, if he’s even good enough.

Cremaschi isnt going to play for Argentina if so he would be cracking our team already it's all the Messi hype he is a good prospect and could be a good player i just dont think he is that level
I mean at absolute best he is the 3rd string 10 and the other 2 ahead of him are about the same age and way ahead of him talent wise with Gio and Tillman
