- Welcome to TomFM! In today's Football Manager 2024 experiment video I gave Premier League clubs a huge points deduction, equal to the amount of points they earned last season in FM24. So Champions Manchester City start on -89 points, where as relegated Southampton start on -25 points and Everton have their 10 point deduction extended to -36.

I'm used to the internet making you regret anything you say. I once commented on a beautiful picture of an amputee kissing his girlfriend. Some was *really* mad at me for saying it was a good picture. The internet is a weird place@@Eesa8
Essentially, this is a simulation where you want to come out on the bottom. Being bad in this simulation means that (if we acknowledge SI's scouting) you perform better in real life than the sum of your parts would suggest.

Next simulation,you should give a team a 1 point deduction for every loss
What about seeing how much the badge and backing contributes to their success by moving the entire squad to the opposite club eg 1st place squad is swapped with 20th place squad, 2-19, 3-18 etc
I really don't think it's happening for Chelsea at all. They really need all their "future star" players to make it because they got so many of them in by virtue of installment payments, which means they won't be able to spend much at all in the next 5 years if they want to stay under the FFP rules. If those players don't start performing (and it's looking bad for at least Caicedo, Mudryk, Jackson, maybe Fernandez, ...) they are going to be in even more trouble than they are now as these players are on rich, very long term contracts so no one will want to buy them and the club won't be able to buy new players for a lot of money
Fast forward four months, they have started developing, but still your words are valid
whether your points are valid or not i disagree with the names you have given. caicedo needed a few games to build up sharpness and fitness and he then quickly adapted. fernandez is already a proven performer for chelsea having very good midfield stats while having a hernia injury which is quite painful. jackson i agree he was poor at first as he is not the greatest finisher but he is improving and there is a great player in him but i do with mudryk though, he has 10 G/A this season but he needs improve a lot.

This is just a nice simulator of which teams overperformed and which underperformed last year
For Forest, it could have been down to how many games Awoniyi was available for.
my idea on how to make footy more interesting is to give 1 point deduction to each team in a goalless draw, so it would be actually better to lose than draw 0-0, more goals this way

FM should include points deduction in the in-game editor, so I can destroy City and Madrid quite easily
I'd love to see a deep dive into why Everton are always so overrated. Either the scouts rate their players higher than reality (even a novice to FM should be able to finish in the CL spots with Everton in season 1), or the players are given a slight boost by a few CA points to help them out.

Actually I thought that Chelsea would win the first season.
Shows you how much Man United over performed last season with these results. It will take a good three to five years of good investing and good youth development for Man Utd to reach the heights they had with Sir Alex. A big if though.

Video idea: Every time a team sings a player, they get deducted the amount of points they signed that player for.
For example, if man United bought a player for 60 million, they get deducted 60 points and etc
