Actually more people in Denmark fly the Danish flag. It is far more prevalent when you are out and about in Denmark, than it is in the U.S. And the same goes for Thailand. Americans are not the only ones that fly flags a lot. In fact I think Americans pale in comparison to Denmark.
There are gaps in public bathroom stalls & doors because many of the stalls are not custom-made, they are usually pre-fab door, wall and frame "systems" and if not measured or installed correctly then gaps are the result. They are very inexpensive compared to custom-made stalls, and faster and easier to install. Large gaps at the bottom and shorter height of doors and walls means less materials costs. Everyone hates the gaps (especially women) but there's nothing to be done about it.
So I was born and raised in California and I hate making small talk with people. Socially I am not comfortable enough for that lol. I even look down when walking passed someone and i don't say HI or Good Morning and such like a lot of Americans do. Because of that my mom always said I was rude lmao
If you want to start saying good morning, my tip is to say it every single time to everyone, so that it won't be awkward if someone doesn't answer because it won't have been a misjudged decision: you didn't say good morning because you wanted an answer, you said it because you say it to everyone. Also, keep saying it to people who don't answer. 99% of the time they're just more socially awkward than you and appreciate it. Some even start saying it back after the 3828582nd attempt.
I think younger millennials and Gen Z's are a lot more introverted. Being from the older generation (I'm a Gen X), we seem to be more extroverted. I say hi or smile to anyone I make eye contact with and can easily strike up a conversation with random people anywhere.
@@DrVictorVasconcelos The last part is so accurate. Where I go for daily walks, everyone says "Hi" except two teenagers that always look at the ground. After 6 months I finally got minor eye contact. And after 9 months, I got a "hi" out of one of them. I felt so proud.
For the peanut butter, yes. The small talks for me is just a "hi" and "how're you doing?" from me; anything else, my introverted ass says lolno. The spaces between the bathroom stalls just make me paranoid that someone's looking, istg. The red solo cups for me is a no go because I actually don't drink that much alcohol because I am actually allergic to alcohol. The flags, however... As an American, I've never had a flag in or attached to my house. Why? I'm not at all patriotic. In regard to the tipping culture, it's because the 9 to 5 jobs do not pay that much. So, getting tips from customers is making sure that people who are working at a restaurant has a better way of earning money.
The gaps are definitely for emergencies and crime prevention. But it does not always work. I used to have a gas station (or petrol, however it is referred to) and there were multiple instances where myself or my employees would go to clean and would find needles in the diaper changing station, behind the toilet, under the seat. It was almost like a horrible game of spot what does not belong or something. 😅
Also, more often than not men’s urinals in other countries have no dividers while in the US they usually do. For me that is much weirder than not fully private bathroom stalls.
That makes sense, but they didn’t have to make it SO high lol. I’m always afraid of flashing someone or someone just leaning down to peek if someone’s in it
@@marydavis5234 I have lived in America all my life, I’ve seen many bathrooms where the stalls are extremely high up. Some reaching just below the knees. Every bathroom can be different. But it’s also a fact that they leave cracks in the door, to the point you can really see inside if ppl tried. There’s also the common occurrence of ppl sharing stories where kids actually crawled under the stall when a random stranger is in it lol. There’s videos as well of kids being able to do that.
A few fun facts: The imperial system of measurement, much like the term Soccer to refer to what everyone else calls football, was introduced to us by the UK and is the reason we use them. Truthfully, we use both systems of measurements depending on profession or object being measured.
We actually started to convert to the Metric system in the late 70s, but like a lot of things in the US, it got political, so it stopped. There are people in the US that are still militant about being anti-metric for again political reasons, so idiotic. It's just stupid, now instead of one set of tools, we have to buy both SAE and Metric, because both are used. I'm sure the tools manufacturers love it, so they can sell you more tools, but the consumer is screwed. So much for saving money by not converting. Metric is the easier system, it's idiotic that we still use imperial measurement, especially when the rest of the world uses it, except for the UK. Which is even MORE idiotic, because even though both are "imperial" and use the same name (like miles), the measurements are actually different. A car in the UK gets more miles per gallon than a US car, not because the car is any better, but the measurement is different.
Even in the 60s, we (US school kids). were told in school that we had to learn the metric system because it was coming soon. And also that soccer was going to be more popular in the US than American football.
LOL, yes New York is VERY expensive and so it California! Not everywhere is like that but it's starting too. UM Peanut butter, yah, too much is too much lol. It's dry without jelly lol!
We use American measurements for most day to day things like food, gas etc..BUT we also use the metric system in the US. Everyone learns the universal metric system in grade school and if you have a job related to Science or Healthcare you must use the universal metric system. For example your Tylenol may be a 500 mg tablet, etc. 😊 So most of us know how to do the conversions pretty easily even if its just an estimate.
We may be familiar with the unuversal metric system for some things, as you mentioned, but no... we don't all easily convert it. I can barely convert feet to inches, lol.
Concerning the large gaps underneath the bathroom door stall, it's there incase the door malfunctions and someone needs to escape, also it's there incase someone is unwell and they need to be rescued. Concerning the wide gaps on the side of bathroom stall doors, they are completely embarrassing...I stuff toilet paper in all the gaps so I can have privacy.
What’s funny is that as a nurse, we use the metric measurement system in hospitals. We measure weight in kg and do heights in cm, so I’m used to it. We also chart temperatures in C and usually American use Fahrenheit.
The large gap in bathroom stalls is okay for safety. Its under the door so one would have to do the most to look at you. But the side and door gaps are ridiculously large in some places! Even the urinals have nonsensical dividers because some have no divider, some have short ones where anyone of about average height, can look over and down at you. Now because of that, bathroom stalls are always super messy from being used for #1 in mens rooms. American public bathrooms tend to suck. Although, the family/handicap ones where its a personal bathroom.. Those are always private and clean.
I originally came from Germany where the metric system was used and in the 70's we moved to Canada, so I had to learn the imperial system. Although, while still in High School, we changed to the metric system in Canada. The only thing that to me still makes no sense at all is that lots of places still use pounds which only converts to 454 grams, so not at all metric, since the metric system only works in 10's, 100's & 1000's. So prices are given by the kilo or by the pound. The informal term metric pound is for half a kilogram and should be 500 grams and not 454 grams.
Red cup, cheap plastic for one time, may break if you squeeze, use. 😂 The flag has a song tied to it. Bathroom gaps for hinges (my guess) cause it's a cheaper design and ppl are likely to leave the stalls faster. Interesting topics. I've lived here all my life and well... your views and takes are hilarious and on point to some extent 😂
We hate the gaps in public restroom doors as well 😂 Tipping culture is annoying, and got more annoying after Covid. Now EVERYWHERE you go and pay with credit card it asks if you want to tip. The issue is that at most restaurants, the servers get paid much less than minimum wage, and rely on tips to make their money. I always tip in restaurants, and for services such as getting my nails done, my hair, valet parking, etc. If you don’t, people think you’re rude. I don’t tip, however, at places where I walk up to the counter to order and take my own food to my table and throw my own trash away.
Here in the UK, we use both metric and imperial measurements. 🤪 Miles for distance, lbs and oz for body weight and feet and inches for hight. But all food supplies are weighed in grams and kilograms and medications in milligrams and millilitres. Fabric in metres. It can be interesting 😂
American here, there isn't a specific reason why the solo cups are red. But in America, red is known as a bold, statement making, power color. Red also elicits a chemical reaction in the brain to make you hungry or thirsty. That's why you see so many fast food restaurants using the color red as well as yellow(for the same reason). So that could have been the reason for the red as well. These days, kids use solo cups because you can't tell what's inside the cup because of the high opacity of the red. I assume there are similar strategies for college students getting away with alcohol using a colored water bottle instead of a clear one.
In West Virginia, it's very rude to interrupt an elderly person even if it means waiting 10 minutes for the conversation to end, so you can get help from a store clerk. We learned that the hard way. If a person with gray hair wants to talk, people listen or they get nasty looks from everyone.
I find it hilarious that they are talking so much about the red Dixie cups. Too funny... and just for the record we don't all use the red drink cups. I have several colors in my pantry, I don't like using them because of the recycling aspect of the cups. Also, if we do use them, we make sure to put out a black sharpie marker so you can put your name on your cup.
Hello friends right You tube at moments before awesome cool I'll ideas thinking about insurance since seriously boys next door 😍 ice cream favor taste peanut butter food,
So there's two common things between America and India 1)Height Measurement ( Feet & inches). I am happy I don't have to worry about calculating cms.😅 2) Small Talks
Ok you can't lie peanut butter is really good plus we normally eat pp&j sandwiches for school lunches if we pack or for a snack (for most people some hate the texture of peanut butter) we have different color plastic cups we mostly use them for partys or if we are tired of washing dishes we use throw away cups and more the large gap in the bathroom door is because if someone is having a medical emergency we van help fast or if they're stuvk and the stall won't unlock they can slide under neath the stall door especially if you need toilet paper but it isn't really helpful in schools when there is a intruder tho
hahaha, the first topic is my bane: I didnt start eating peanut butter until I was around 16, but I do not like eating it with jam. Eating them together seems weird to me. And yes. You need a lot of it and I love it. I asked for an entire jar of peanut butter for Christmas last year from my family. That's right kids. even in your 4th decade of life - stay weird. 🤣
It was around 1977 to 19 we in canada had to change all things from inches, feet , miles ect to cm. Meters and kilmeters. Just for informational purposes ihang my coat or sweater on the door where the gab in closer to the next stall and ONLY use the stall that is closest to the wall!
Im from Germany and when you start talking to a random stranger (making small talk) on the street most people would look at you as if you’re an alien 😂
The only time we use the metric system is in science, track and field, and the medical field. ***SIDE NOTE *** I love Tim Hortons. Where I live at in the US, Tim Hortons is VERY popular and so is hockey (like Canada) and Football.
There is a video about the history of the Star spangled banner which is the United States national anthem is the video that covers why Americans are so patriotic why they value 9 or a natural anthem so much but the flag as well it's a very powerful video and you guys should react to it
I also think the whole small talk culture in the US is hilarious, cause if you'd ask someone "How are you?" in my country they'll definitely start telling you all about their personal life. We don't usually ask anything here without actually wanting to know the answer, so I was really struggling while I lived in the US...
I cant get my kid to eat peanut butter but he will eat ramen everyday if i let him 😂 and i always try to find the bathroom stall with the smallest gap! I hate it!
English-Canada have the weird fascination with Tim Horton… I don’t completely understand it. If im gonna pay for coffee… I want a good one! Otherwise im just gonna make a Nespresso at home. (Maybe it’s my rebellious French-Canadian side) We do have Tim Horton in Québec too… just not nearly as much. 🇨🇦
While there are many people who love peanut butter, there are many who do not. Many people are allergic to peanut butter...allergic to any nut butters for that matter. People who lean heavily upon protein diet-wise, use peanut butter quite a bit. Actislly, peanut butter is not used on everything...wonder why you think that.

Solo cups now come in multi colored packs, so that we do not mix up who has what color. And we have clear ones too! 🤣🤣
I am American but I am learning so much from this lmao
The gaps are definitely for emergencies and crime prevention. But it does not always work. I used to have a gas station (or petrol, however it is referred to) and there were multiple instances where myself or my employees would go to clean and would find needles in the diaper changing station, behind the toilet, under the seat. It was almost like a horrible game of spot what does not belong or something. 😅
The bathroom stall being higher at the bottom is for safety reasons just in case a child accidently gets locked in.
Also, more often than not men’s urinals in other countries have no dividers while in the US they usually do. For me that is much weirder than not fully private bathroom stalls.
That makes sense, but they didn’t have to make it SO high lol. I’m always afraid of flashing someone or someone just leaning down to peek if someone’s in it
@@mochiiiteait is not as high as the photo shows, you can’t see past your ankle in the public bathroom stalls.
Some of the newer bathrooms don't have wide gaps anymore. lol
@jadoremusic620 lol... sorry, I should have been clear that I am a scientist, so I meant most of us in the field 😅 not most Americans
First❤❤❤❤❤
I originally came from Germany where the metric system was used and in the 70's we moved to Canada, so I had to learn the imperial system.
You can actually get Solo cups in almost any color now to match the color of your party theme.
1:55 that is not a standard PB&J. I think maybe there banana in there too
He went to New York of course it’s expensive lol
While I am an introvert, if I'm walking down the street and someone makes eye contact with me, I'll say hi or hello. Or at least smile.
😂😂😂😂 at the bathroom you see a hand
Red cup, cheap plastic for one time, may break if you squeeze, use. 😂 The flag has a song tied to it. Bathroom gaps for hinges (my guess) cause it's a cheaper design and ppl are likely to leave the stalls faster. Interesting topics. I've lived here all my life and well... your views and takes are hilarious and on point to some extent 😂
We hate the gaps in public restroom doors as well 😂
Tipping culture is annoying, and got more annoying after Covid. I don’t tip, however, at places where I walk up to the counter to order and take my own food to my table and throw my own trash away.
the solo cups come in red and blue. more people pick red for parties because it looks more festive I guess.
America here. I wanted to see what our crazy stuff was.
I haven't eaten peanut butter in 15 years...
Some people really love peanut butter but I think of it mostly as a kid food lol
Whoever said that Americans put peanut butter on everything is lying I have had peanut butter once. I hate it.
Fake American
Hello friends right You tube at moments before awesome cool I'll ideas thinking about insurance since seriously boys next door 😍 ice cream favor taste peanut butter food,
So there's two common things between America and India
1)Height Measurement ( Feet & inches). I am happy I don't have to worry about calculating cms.😅
2) Small Talks
HAHA i don't mind the gap under the stalls but the gaps on the sides of the doors are far more uncomfortable
Im from Germany and when you start talking to a random stranger (making small talk) on the street most people would look at you as if you’re an alien 😂
i envy metric users. Having do add and subtract feet/inches is so hard all the time. Metric is easy, 10's
The only time we use the metric system is in science, track and field, and the medical field. ***SIDE NOTE *** I love Tim Hortons. Where I live at in the US, Tim Hortons is VERY popular and so is hockey (like Canada) and Football.
Lol I only greet strangers in Korea if I catch them clearly staring at me. 🤣
There is a video about the history of the Star spangled banner which is the United States national anthem is the video that covers why Americans are so patriotic why they value 9 or a natural anthem so much but the flag as well it's a very powerful video and you guys should react to it
😂 love the reactions. Yes the red solo cups were used to hide alcoholic beverages and is basically the symbol of genX. Soooo much underage drinking.
People don’t put peanut butter on hamburgers!! Noooooo gross 🤮
Some restaurants have a peanut sauce on hamburgers, but the restaurant are in the bigger cities in the US.
@@marydavis5234 I am from Dallas Texas and we don’t do that haha but I can imagine it could be a Vietnamese or Thai infusion place that does.
I also think the whole small talk culture in the US is hilarious, cause if you'd ask someone "How are you?" in my country they'll definitely start telling you all about their personal life. We don't usually ask anything here without actually wanting to know the answer, so I was really struggling while I lived in the US...
There are blue and yellow so cups as well. 😂
I cant get my kid to eat peanut butter but he will eat ramen everyday if i let him 😂 and i always try to find the bathroom stall with the smallest gap! I hate it!
As an American I didn’t know we put peanut butter on everything, I mean I just eat it on a sandwich or with chocolate
🌎 Fascinating cultural differences, right? 🤔
Is he a dog? pooping to mark his territory is hilarious 😂😂😂😂
This made me go make a pbj sandwich at like 10pm lol
Meanwhile germany even making straws from degradeable material to cut down on plastic.
US: TRILLIONS OF RED plastic CUPS!!
The solo cups comes in all colors but red is more popular
For me it’s for if someone is already there you go to the other stall. lol I need the Green and Red for occupied lol
People in the US love to talk to everyone
공파리파님 영어 말할 때 목소리 너무 섹시해요
Living in America I wish our bathroom stalls were closed. I have had other peoples children crawl into my stall and I’ve had to stop my little monsters from crawling into others
If you think pubic bathrooms are showing too much, you should see school bathrooms.
PLEASE react to spider girl challenge plz that's my special request from Kentucky USA ❤❤❤
I am from Kentucky also. I live in Korea now.
For small talk, it's usually a male that initiates it....sometimes they do it with other males, but it's mostly small talk with females.
헐 공파다
I talk to everyone- I would have a hard time if I could not -
