Sherri and Chelsi, I love to see how excited you are talking with Lisa! What an amazing story Lisa. I truly appreciate all the ways you three share your time and talents with all of us. 💕💕💕
Lisa is one of my favorite quilters. She is so down t earth. I currently subscribe to her wool boxes. They are amazing. Thanks for the opportunity to get to know her better.
So excited to be part of today’s podcast with these gifted and talented ladies! Love The new store and retreat and love living in Wisconsin, so close to both.
I have so enjoyed this podcast so much! Laughed with all of you including Biily. Lisa sounds like such a fun person. I have met and talked with Lisa’s husband several times at the Paducah Quilt Show. In fact my friends and I quilted In The Garden quilt that was hung at the Paducah show. Nick called and told Lisa about our quilt while he was standing with us! The quilt was finished by us because a friend was battling cancer and couldn’t even begin to work on it.
I was thrilled to visit the Grand Opening in July. Luke was so personable and showed me the long arm room. You are ten minutes from my brother's house so can't wait to visit in 2022!
Chelsea's comment about promoting and supporting personal and creative growth in others is a summary of most of the quilting community. You do inspire and support thousands and your comments are appreciated. Even Billy has commented on several occasions with ideas for support and growth. So, thank you for bringing up this point. And shout-out to Billy too.
Inspiring...so satisfying. What a story! You three ladies are the Best of the Best in the Quilting World! Thank you for all you do to continue to keep your quilting passion going. I will not live long enough to accomplish every quilt I want to make! Ha!
Now I know what I'll plan for my retirement that's not too far away! Might even can get my son and his family to come along, as they are total Packers fans (in a Texas Cowboys environment!)
Great interview!! And love you ladies!! If you two are having a trunk show/chat etc that folks can attend - Primitive Gatherings is only 1.5 hr drive from home - would love to attend!!!
Super fun podcast today with Lisa!!! Such a talented, inspiring lady!! And her new retreat center, Oh My Goodness!!! What a wonderful trip that would be!!!! Thanks Sherri, Chelsi, Billy, and Lisa Bongean!!!
Great interview. So good to hear more about the retreat house. Wow I could just move in there. Sounds like a quilters dream come true. You always bring such great shows. Thank you.
What a terrific podcast! I have noticed that the quilting community, though broad and diverse encompasses community. The sense of community and that quilting is a journey resonates with me. Having found quilting during the pandemic has been a godsend. Many other occupations or hobbies are based on competition. So grateful.
What a great podcast, how I wish I lived in America with all your wonderful quilt shops, unlike in the uk there are hardly any shops. The last time I touched fabric in a shop was 3 years ago when on vacation in Florida xxx
Ladies and Gent, this was such a marvelous episode!! I really love how you Quilty Designers cheer each other on and promote one another. Very heart warming and encouraging for us! Thank you for all you do and the beauty you help bring into our lives!
Another great podcast!!! I enjoyed hearing Lisa story of getting into quilting. It’s great hearing Billy asking questions. One day I’m going to make it to her store she’s only an 1:15 minutes away from me. Sheri your quilts are beautiful.
Such a great and inspiring interview!! Omg, wouldn’t going to her retreat spot be super fun!!! I’ve only been to Wisconsin once a few years ago!! I thought they had some good antique stores too. Thank you ladies and Billy for a wonderful podcast!
Good Monday Ladies. Looking forward to hearing this podcast. After finding you and the quilting community via TH-cam last year I had a hankering to find a retreat spot relatively close to MI. It was exciting when I found Lisa was in Wisconsin. This month we’re in NC with daughter to help with grandchildren. There is a nearby quilt shop in a family garage that I love to visit when I’m in town. I don’t “need” anything but of course that’s not a reason to stay away. One of the things I picked up was Sherri’s Be My Neighbor pattern. 2022 is “Sew My Scraps” year. The pattern fits the plan.
I loved listening to Lisa and how she got to where she is today! I'm also kicking myself because we were in Sister Bay, WI over the weekend and should have stopped in Larsen to see and shop the store. An extra hour or so added to the trip would have been so worth it. I guess I'll need to attend a retreat in the spring!
Such an inspiring show today. 3 of my all time favorites all together. Thank you. I’m heading to Lisa ‘s california shop next week and am excited. Wisconsin is definitely on my list of places to go. Wait until I tell my husband he can fish. I do have a question for your next question & answer show. I consider myself a novice quilter and have had trouble getting myself motivated to finish my quilts. I have a few in various stages of completion, but I suppose my fear of the quilts not turning out “perfect” stops me in my tracks. Do you have a suggestion how to get out of my own way? Thank you 🌻
These girls are the best!!! I’m over the top excited they asked me to join them today!!!
Love you sharing your story 💕. Love your skills and talent and sharing them with the quilting world. Much appreciated. Your such an amazing lady!

I love the quilt on the back !!!! What is the name of the pattern and the fabrics used in this quilt ? So I can search for it and buy !!!!
@lisabongean Do the boys have t-shirt quilts with their Primitive Gatherings sponsored team apparel?
Thanks for the podcast. Is the retreat center for beginner quilters, too?
You bet it is!!! We love beginners!!!
Sherri, is the 4 Square quilt pattern only on Etsy or also in one of your books?
