God, I feel so hard for Matt Ryan. After seeing locker room footage of him after the Denver game and that incredible win over the Jags, I was happy that after a couple years in the wilderness the Colts had a QB I was genuinely rooting for.... but then it all went off the rails. The Colts need a LOT of change this offseason - a coach who has actually had previous coaching or coordinating experience in the NFL, for example. I'll also happily take Ballard going away, even though given today's press conference that's unlikely. Getting Stroud or Young in the draft would be a nice start, but I don't expect this team to be playoff ready for a while now.
i think the colts will get back to where they were last year (or close), at least the o line will. a year of disappointment does wonders for people as competitive as nlf players.

@@crooster1 I think it was the wrong choice, and I know I'm not alone, but I was really just baffled by the choice to go with Saturday more than anything - you had guys like Bubba Ventrone on staff (who as of today was interviewed for the head coaching position!) who had the trust of the players and were ready to give the HC position a try, and Irsay went and got an old buddy instead. Unless there's a real sudden Dan Campbell-style culture shift with the new hire (submitting interview requests for Ben Johnson and Aaron Glenn means Irsay's definitely been paying attention to what's going on in Detroit) I think this team is gonna need some time. Reich probably would have been fired after the season if he wasn't fired when he was, and I probably would have been more accepting of it then had the Colts finished the season 7-10 or something - but midseason, when the team was still playing okay ball and had a shot? It just reeked of Irsay being impatient and wanting to nuke it all. Fingers crossed this upcoming rebuild takes its time.

Living in MN I love the Patrick Peterson signing. What he had in diminishing veteran skill he easily make up with heart and drive. He comes on the local sports talk radio weekly and I his passion and honesty. He's one of the big reasons the Vikings don't crack under pressure like previous teams. I'm still not sure about the playoff chances though. If they do get to the Super Bowl they will be more Lovie Smith/ Rex Grossman Bears like than '85 Bears.

What he did show is that he is one of the best, if not the best current backup QB in the league who can also serve as a transition QB (a QB your team can lean on to keep you competitive if you are looking for your next franchise guy). He proved he can still be effective as a starter, but even the best backups like Geno are going to give you a record of around .500 (maybe a game over, maybe a game under) as a starter over the course of a regular season. He won’t put you in contention for any deep playoff or SB runs though. That requires a top tier QB….. or no worse than the best backup in the league caliber QB like Geno if the team is otherwise talented enough around him and has at least one elite, top 2 in the league unit, whether it’s offense or defense (look at what Dilfer was able to do with the Ravens). As far as “reviving” careers goes though, Geno has always been this talented. Most teams want a franchise QB who can win them a SB though instead of an elite backup who will make them competitive enough to possibly be a playoff team but nothing more, so Geno hasn’t had many opportunities to start since the beginning of his career when it was discovered that he was just a backup caliber QB. All Geno really proved is that he’s still as good as he always was this season and would be an incredibly valuable backup on a legit contender whose starting QB has the occasional injury issues.

What's crazy about Robinson is that he actually played well as well! First half of the season, he was Jacksonville's starter and seemed like he was going to keep that pace up (Etienne fantasy owners know this to be true). But for whatever reason, he started to see less usage and Etienne started to take off. And once he got traded, he's just been non-existent. Also Quinn is a good nod, as an Eagles fan he's been meh at best and disappointing at worst.

No disrespect to him than I do not see AJ Green making it to the NFL Hall. He was really good one of the best partholon stretch with Cincinnati but injuries bad quarterback play he's not going to make the Hall of Fame he hasn't done enough to really even warrant consideration for it and again I mean no disrespect towards AJ Green he was a hell of a player when he was healthy
