    As a kid every summer around this time early 2000s I loved nothing more than watching the planes take off through the big glass windows inside manchester airport such fond memories

    Never ceased to amaze me how steep those Balkan 154's were on take off. I used to see them at Glasgow and they went up like a rocket.

      Yes indeed a really steep climb. Probably ex.military practicing steep climbs lol

    My word, the nostalgia. Back when Manchester was crawling with all kinds of bright, colourful holiday/charter airlines. Sad that the airlines these would later become have gone bust, and all that's left is TUI and Jet2, with I suppose Easyjet and Ryanair also flying to holiday destinations.

      BA 767's were quite regular visitors to Manchester. ATP were based at Manchester.
