really useful, couple of questions if I may. How can one use a custom shape rather than a circle or rectangle ? Also, is it possible to offset a space between each shape ? I'm interested in creating natural stone paving areas, pedestrian footpaths, public squares etc, cheers

Thanks for the question. You can use any closed polyline as a region that overlaps with the pattern to extract part of the pattern. you can then offset the pattern to the inside to create the gap between the "pavers". If you can, send me an email at copetedavid@gmail.com and I can help you with this. If you have the script created I can help you with that one, or just show you a quick example that goes over what you are trying to do. 👍

Thanks for the kind comment! I here is a neat trick to select by color. You can rick click on the custompreview component and bake it. If you then change your viewport to rendered, you will see the colors baked into the geometry. You can then go to the materials tab in rhino, and you can right click on any material and select objects by the color. This is one way to do it non parametrically. You can also do this parametrically, by selecting the same area number. If you haver further questions, send me a direct email copetedavid.com
