      Most definitely! I've been swamped with work through 2020, but I'm working on some more training modules.

    SRoS will be more friendly if we could use strings/names, not only numbers regarding the VRF/VPRN configuration. By the way, the video help us so much. Thank you for your time Thomas.

    Excellent information Thomas. If you don’t mind can you also advise on the version of VSR you are using and also the initial MDA you use to setup the VSR as I have been struggling with that on GNS3

    Hello Thomas, why are we using target LDP?
    I thought with LDP running, the transport label will be generated when IGP advertises the loopback to the egress LER while Bgp vpnv4 is used to get the tunnel label.
    I don't understand the use of L-DP

    Hi Thomas, with regards to this VPRN series, why did we configure a vrf in the CE , is it mandatory if we are interconnecting cisco and Nokia? If we are using a different routing protocol between PE and CE, does CE needs a VRF configuration? Thanks in advance.

    • @thomastucker3764
      @thomastucker3764  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Good afternoon John, thanks for the question! VRFs/VPRNs on the CEs are not mandatory. The only reason I configure VRFs/VPRNs on each CE is because we're segregating subscriber traffic based on the VLAN coming into the Service Provider network (VLAN X = Subscriber A, VLAN Y = Subscriber B, VLAN Z = Subscriber C, etc). Essentially, each VLAN would represent a different subscriber's CE. In a typical real-world L3VPN, the CE would peer with the PE via some logical interface and not a logical sub-interface (e.g.: Gi0/0 instead of Gi0/0.XX), where the routes being distributed from the CE to the PE would be assigned a RT & RD by MP-BGP based on the ingress SAP. Also, configuring different VRFs/VPRNs on the CEs is another opportunity to observe how the VRFs/VPRNs routing tables are completely segregated from each other. I didn't configure VRFs/VPRNs 1122 and 2233 in the video, but they would both share the exact same IP scheme on the PEs and CEs as VPRN 3344.

    I heard you cannot put the 7750 in GNS3. However, I see you've done it. Is there a trick to doing that or is it as simple as getting an image like Cisco?

    • @thomastucker3764

      hey Mike! the only major difference is SR-OS uses QEMU, whereas IOS uses Dynamips. You can check out my video on setting up GNS3.

    Sadly, a lot of the configuration steps presented in these videos is obsolete since Nokia SR-OS and their SRC training programs now Model Driven CLI -- and if you are looking to get a job in the industry it's expected to be familiar with MD-CLI as well as programming interfaces to achieve desired device configurations.

    Can anyone tell me difference between Normal interface and IES interface ?

    • @thomastucker3764
      @thomastucker3764  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, Satya. An IES can be thought of as a logical router interface that's directly-connected to a subscriber and has the capabilities of a service (QoS, Accounting, Billing).
