    Your demonstrations are wonderful! Not many available for Nokia SRs on the internet and yours are really the most helpful, at least for me! Greatly appreciated!

    Hi Thomas, this is July 10, 2021. I enjoyed your presentation. You pace is good just pause a few seconds so the audience can listen and view what you just typed into the command line. Also, you mentioned backslash, but you meant to say forward slash "/" for entering commands in any contexts. Overall, your presentation is excellent and on point for the first two presentations on HW and Cards, and Port and Logical Interfaces. Plus, I also appreciated how you compared the functions and commands to Cisco and Juniper. Thank you for sharing and teaching. Keep up the good work.

    I just got a position as a Jr. Networking Engineer using Nokia gear, this stuff is exactly what I need right now. I'd love a start to finish initial config (Management info, SNMP config etc) with basic general network config stuff. :)
    Thank you!

    Thanks Thomas, I have one query. Is logical interface to Physical port binding one to one mapping? Can we configure multiple logical interfaces on same physical port?

    • @thomastucker3764
      @thomastucker3764  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Good morning, Sharad - excellent question! The logical router interfaces and physical ports are bound in a 'one-to-one' fashion. So we cannot associate one physical port with more than one logical router interface; nor can we associate one logical router interface with more than one physical port. Thanks for watching!

    • @toniojz5048
      @toniojz5048 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thomas is July 10, 2021. I agree with the physical port to logical IP interface one-to-one mapping. However, there is a way to map one logical interface to multiple physical ports by using Services such as: IES or VPRN services for IP routing interfaces. For example, SAP id's can distinguish traffic on a single port with 802.1Q VLAN tags and those SAP id's will be specified within another switch service called VPLS. Use the Auto binding command and this results in a Routed VPLS (rvpls) service with multiple physical ports associated. Lastly, bind the rvpls to the IES interface or VPRN interface, for example, and now, multiple switch ports comprised from the router physical ports with VLAN encapsulation can be associated or mapped to a logical router interface. This is a way the questioner might want to consider as a method to achieve the idea that he inquired about, which is mapping physical ports to a logical interface. SROS allows mapping one port or one switch made from several ports to a logical interface.

    hello Thomas, is there any way to save router config via GNS3? Every time when I open my project, we need to config from card and mda. i gets hectic when router numbers increases.

    • @thomastucker3764
      @thomastucker3764  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      hey amitpatil, GNS3 should be saving those configurations automatically. are you still experiencing the issue? if so, let me know and I'll check my GNS3 client settings. I'm guessing a hard disk isn't configured properly for the QEMU image, or your GNS3 client may not have write access.
