My goodness! Miss Numbers did an extensive number of dehumanizing Deaf students in her own sheer pleasure and her days are now outnumbered. Your story is the product of repairing pain and adversity. You made it to Gallaudet! Dr. Pratt was no clever himself. The surname of "Pratt" comes from: Anglo-Saxon origins, and is derived from the Old English Pre 7th Century word “praett” which can be translated to mean “a trick", and Pratt thought he could perform a trick "spell" on you, but you found a way to stop his and its systematic trickery. Good job, Steve and thanks for sharing! Thumbs up!
Ur horrible terrifying experience makes me sick. Yet, you choose to give others your gift. Thank you for your great courage and willingness to share with me.
My late husband went to Baxter School for the Deaf in Maine. I remember him telling stories about playing basketball against Clark school, and the contrast between student communications during meals and other school activities; Baxter students were not able to communicate with the Clark students due to the spoken/signed language barrier. However, in the dorm during off-hours, the Clark students were so happy to sign with the Baxter students, so they could really communicate and build friendships. He always felt sad for what the Clark students had to experience, totally unfair and NOT effective education!!!
I was supposed to enter Clarke but was turned down due to my age which was required to be 7 years old but I was 8, thanks God!!! That was a close call!
At age of 9 I enrolled CSDR, the dorm counselors were cruel to us girls. My elbows were hitting by metal butter knife on kitchen table. Her hands pressed hard on my thin upper arm later got bruises. I had to be careful to follow their rules. Some of them were mean and others were nice. Forgave them. Thanks for sharing.
Sounds like Miss Number enjoyed hitting students for fun. Definitely class action against the school for emotional damages. Write the whole thing to the Boston newspaper. I'm so disappointed against parents[selfishness] wanted you to talk and force you to hear[impossible].
Incredibly sad story, Steve. I applaud you for sharing your story with everyone.
Thanks!
@@SteveLongo you’re very welcome, Steve!

Cool love your videos
Thanks for sharing your bad experience there. What is it like today?
It’s better now with new laws protecting deaf students but oralism still exists today because of $$$ from AGB foundation

Still the abuses should never be acceptable. Shame.
