Damn man I remembering seeing Merc live when they toured for their first album, at the Toukley Beachcomber. Tiny little room packed tight, we were only a meter or so from the stage. It was awesome. Must be 15 years or more ago now.
Another great song from this band that I just discovered tonight. This one sounds like the Foo Fighters. The guitarist is doing the Angus Young head bang. These are all good things. 🙂
I clearly remember the first time I heard this song in 2004. My wife had been in Queensland for a week or so seeing her parents. Things had been ordinary between us for a while, and in the time that she was gone I happened to catch up with 2 different people on different days, they told me that they had seen my wife with another bloke. Then my secretary also said she had seen my wife walking down the street- very friendly! I had to drive to Canberra airport to pick her up, nothing was said apart from “Hi, did you have a good flight dear?”. “How’s the dog?” That was about it for a 2 hour drive home. Near Yass this song came on, I couldn’t believe it, it was saying all of the things I was thinking and wanted to say to her. It was a very awkward moment! It would have to be one of the most bitter breakup songs I’d ever heard but it had such an empowering effect on me! Thanks so much for writing it Rai!
Lol - that sounds like a long story of the rolling stones and “here come’s my nineteeth nervous breakdown”…which is another way of saying, you caught up to a couple of gossips, they did your head in, and this song is you “ear worm” from that moment! I remember when I first heard “twenty good reasons”, but I don’t think anyone on youtube cares!!!
FUCK'N KILLER!!! The birth of Michael Albatross! I wish more "Thirsty Merc" were like this one. There all really well written pop/rock songs. But a little too commercial for my taste. But none the less, Kudos boys. I see the forest from the tree's..... \ ,, /
I’m 28 and this jam popped into my head, I was shocked it only had 160K~ views, when I was your age they definitely caught all our attention. Stay true to your taste and share it with your mates!
