Heck, Stanley and Mabel are good sociological analysis of how differently one can be shaped based on both their time period and gender expectations: like Mabel with Dipper, Stan had a nerdy twin who he beat in physicality and emotiveness, but wasn’t allowed to be sensitive or vulnerable and had to be tough to earn respect; if he’d been born/assigned female at birth, or if Mabel were a boy, the similarities would have been sharply visible (heck, look at “Boss Mabel” for how much she became like him when on a power trip!) You know. It’s good to see the Dippers having some decent quality family time, but their definition of family time will always involve something supernatural at work.
Two things: 1st: Every episode of shows you react to that has a connection to Dungeons and Dragons, I feel the need to recommend reacting to The Legend of Vox Machina, since this show is literally based of an actual D&D game! Plus the show is freaking awesome! ^_^ So yeah! :p 2nd: Yes I do play D&D! Love the game, although big flaw of it is it requires a lot of commitment, because a campaign will often last over multiple games, so you and your friends have to meet up regularly to keep the game going! But if y'all can manage that, it's a great experience! Last time I played, I was the Dungeon Master, and that was the first time I filled up that role; quite a stressful experience but it was fun! Also, the character I made in Baldur's Gate 3 is basically the first D&D character I ever made, or as close as I could make it anyway! :)
NWHS was said to be "this is what Saturday's are for, doing dumb things forever"; Mabel said "lazy Tuesday" but called the portal incident 'just yesterday'.
Fun fact about this episode and the one after it. They reference a fiction podcast(THE fiction podcast) called welcome to night vale which is very similar to gravity falls with the weird things in a deserted(pun intended) small town. Alex Hirsch brings the va of the narrator of the podcast into the next episode and makes a joke to bread for him since in nightvale wheat and wheat byproducts are illegal
Ah Ford and Dipper. I remember first getting into Arcane and noticing that Silco and Jinx's relationship was similar to Ford and Dipper's. In Arcane, you have Silco thinking Jinx and Vi's falling out was the same as his and Vander's, resulting in him trying to teach Jinx that she's better off without Vi. In Gravity Falls you have Ford seeing how he and Stan no longer work together well and assuming Dipper and Mabel are the same way with him telling Dipper to keep the rift secret, putting emphasis on not even sharing it with Mabel. I don't remember if Dipper and Mabel ever share that they went up against and BEAT Bill, but Ford, I love ya, you're a dumb dumb for not seeing how good of a team the twins make 😅 Ford is one of my favorite characters for so many reasons though, and I love that you're enjoying him!
I never got into D&D, but I'd likely love it if I tried it. I love making up stories (working on a 14 part fantasy tale right now) and I'm a math geek. D&D would probably be right up my alley. I never was introduced to it when i was younger and don't have any D&D friends right now.
I always wished the infinite sided di got a comeback. It’s such a cool idea. Literally anything can possibly happen. I always liked the idea of an chacters who main thing is being super lucky, and getting that di. Such a cool idea.
"I'll have you know that Duck-tective has a big mystery element! And a lot of humor that goes over kids' heads!" LOL!!! Stanley was just describing Gravity Falls right now!!!!
I’ve been playing D&D for the past eight years, and I love it! I’ve both played as a character and a Dungeon Master on many occasions. Also, you were right, the whole ‘predicted that a year ago’ quote was in reference to the Pines Twins. In fact, Alex Hirsch and his team ended up leaking a fake screenshot of a six-fingered McGuckett onto the Internet so people would stop guessing that Ford was the author all along
First off, I can just imagine you, Mosco, Morgan, Bill, Tom and other TH-camrs in a D&D campaign. Your character, I imagine would be a Bard because Bards are quirky performer types. Secondly, the last time I've played D&D was back in 2003 during my Junior Year of High School. I LOVED playing the game and still love it in general, in spite of all the...issues Wizards of the Coast and Hasbro have caused with it. It was thanks to my playing in school during lunch that I got inspired to write my own fantasy stories; two of which would get published, years later
I love DnD! I've only been able to play a couple of short campaigns but I always had a blast doing it. This episode actually sort of introduced me to it and inspired me to find a campaign group!
Aww, I'm glad you two are able to be with each other. Always warms my heart, reminds me of the one weekend a year I have the time to fly out and see my partner. As for D&D my profile is my character and his Apeling friend, so I'm pretty into it
I do love D&D and gravity falls. I'm not sure if they intended it, but the infinity sided die is very similar to a D&D item called the deck of many things, which does random crazy stuff depending on the card you draw. Super chaotic and fun though!
When mabel says she ate them without her hands you can clearly see orange dust in her fingers 😁, I thought that was silly (You can’t really see it in this video because the screen is so small tho)
I have been playing dnd for a couple of years & its really fun. We may have broke time........twice (even ending up in the real world) in one campaign & 1 of our party members has a crush on a green elder dragon who disgised as a 40 yr old wizard who also mayor of the town & are tasked to basically fix his bs involving gods (his new world order gone wrong) in another.
Oh my goodness eljah! I love your videos and you keep me coming back for more every time. You have such a bubbly personality and i bet you are so fun to be around. Keep doing what youre doing, dont listen to hate, and keep being a sparkiling rainbow girl! Love you so much❤
I first played D&D in college, and then didn't touch it for awhile. Then my friends back home invited me into their game, and I've been playing ever since. Currently in a Spelljammer campaign with some friends that's been going every two weeks for over a year now 😁 I get the stereotype and intimidation of it being "so much math", but really, with D&D Beyond and using fifth edition, the most math you need to do is adding or subtracting two numbers. Three numbers sometimes. And even most of that is done for you by D&D Beyond. So in essence, it's a pretty straightforward storytelling game with dice for RNG. ...unless you're the DM. Then there's a lot of prep to happen and stat blocks to look up 😂But just don't be a DM for your first games 😁
Back in the early 2000's I started playing D&D 3.5 with some friends of mine. It was fun, but unfortunately did not last. A few years ago, I got interested again, and started playing 5e. Managed to find a group through some of the game stores. It's been fun overall. I believe that the Diggity Dungeons is not just about the way the 1990's were when everything was being rebooted to be cool, but a shot at 4e. Admittedly, the dates are off since it came out 2008, but they were trying to make it more of a video game style. Did not catch on. And in case anyone was wondering: Probabilitor was voiced by Weird Al Yankovic.
It's so cute seeing you make a video in Scotland, I hope you are having a great time. Also while I don't play D&D much I do play a lot of other RP games so I get most of the jokes.
I'm a player in two campaigns and planning to GM a third soon; my current pcs are a 12-year-old half-elf grave cleric and a satyr swords bard/archfey warlock multiclass. And my backup for that second guy is a tiefling cavalier fighter, and since that subclass is based on mounted combat and the campaign involves multiverse traveling, her mount is a motorcycle called the Silkwyrm! (Also playing a high elf life cleric in BG3)
I started with D&D, but now I run a custom Monster of the Week campaign based off of Infinity Train. My players are all passengers trying to get their numbers down while I get to play all the characters from the show. One minute a character is trying to cope with the death of their sister, the next... "So, ALL the water is actually Randal?" "Yes." "Even what we drink?" Yep." "So does that mean when we go to the bathroom..." "You want to roll to see if you can talk to your pee?" "You know what? I'm good actually."
Since you mentioned Baldur’s Gate: Ford’s voice actor stars as one of the main villains in Baldur’s Gate 3 “Ketharic Thorm” I bet he loves D&D IRL too!
Don’t know if you know this but fans actually DID figure out stan had a brother before the reveal so Alex made a fake leak showing McGucket as the one who wrote the journal and then pretended to be mad on a post
I play dnd with some friends. My character is a Khajit rogue who’s a pirate captain with a thirst for chaos. Ironically, he’s the most chill character in the campaign.
I'm a d&d nerd and it is so very fun. Ive been playing for a couple years now and ive even been DMing a bit (which is difficult help). Seeing this episode again after I started playing was really cool.
I play D&D, my friends and I always try to get together once a week to play. I was born in the 90s and that fake commercial caused me to flashback to my childhood. XD And the 90s weren't that bad. lol
I've played dungeons and dragons before, and honestly, I loved it. The hard part is finding friends to play with and setting up a consistent schedule for it. That and being the DnD master, but i've never done that before so I'm just gonna take a shot in tge dark for that last one.
I began playing D&D in early 2019. We're still on the same campaign 128 session later. Not including the many one shots and similar games we play. That's twice a month for 5 years straight. We love it! Three of us got kids in that time and one moved to a neighboring city. But we still make it work. So no excuse! Get on it! Play! Get hooked! Your life is now D&D!
So... 1: I've been playing DnD for the last 20 years (kinda stuck as a forever DM these days) and 2: BWAHAHAHA! YOUR FACE WHEN THE CENTAUR-TAUR CAME UP!!! XD
I love that the moral of this episode is: “It’s okay to not always have the same interests of someone you care about, but it’s NOT okay to mock them for it. If anything, it’s highly disrespectful”

You know. It’s good to see the Dippers having some decent quality family time, but their definition of family time will always involve something supernatural at work.
I have been playing D&D for 30 years. I loved this episode, and was happy when my daughter started watching the show.
as a person who's only recently started playing dnd, i 100% recommended it to anyone who's been considering it
This episode was little me's first time ever hearing about D&D and is one of the main episodes of the show that I always remember
2nd: Yes I do play D&D!
Sounds like some unknown being has been messing with memories...
Love that Ford’s voice actor also voices one of the main villains in Baldur’s Gate 3
Mables reaction was my first time playing DND lmao XD
Also: “not tell anyone about this” is a very important line
fun fact: did you know the voice actor is WEIRD AL YANKOVIC
I never got into D&D, but I'd likely love it if I tried it. I love making up stories (working on a 14 part fantasy tale right now) and I'm a math geek. D&D would probably be right up my alley.
I never was introduced to it when i was younger and don't have any D&D friends right now.
I always wished the infinite sided di got a comeback. It’s such a cool idea. Literally anything can possibly happen. I always liked the idea of an chacters who main thing is being super lucky, and getting that di. Such a cool idea.
YES the anticipation was killing me lol
Oh, thank goodness, I was beginning to worry you just dropped the show before things got real! 💜
"I'll have you know that Duck-tective has a big mystery element! And a lot of humor that goes over kids' heads!"
LOL!!!
To be fair, Dipper is constantly making fun of Mabel's interests as well
When Ford said "our faces could melt into jelly" all I could hear was Cave Johnson
Dungeons, Dungeons, and More Dungeons has always been one of my favorite gravity falls episodes because its just plain goofy
"how manny of u guys r into dungeons and dragons?"
*me in my elf costume* WHO WANTS TO BISMANTLE A MONARCY!!!
When mabel says she ate them without her hands you can clearly see orange dust in her fingers 😁, I thought that was silly
(You can’t really see it in this video because the screen is so small tho)
6:43 And If You Hadn't Looked In Ford's Dorm, He Had A D&D& More D Game Box! 😆
This is a crazy episode. The game was wild. Grunkle Stan and Mabel are both really great at Dungeons, Dungeons and More Dungeons
🔥🔥🔥🤣🤣🤣
I have been playing dnd for a couple of years & its really fun. We may have broke time........twice (even ending up in the real world) in one campaign & 1 of our party members has a crush on a green elder dragon who disgised as a 40 yr old wizard who also mayor of the town & are tasked to basically fix his bs involving gods (his new world order gone wrong) in another.
"Hey, you know what would be funnier than a Centaur with all the cheeks? A Centaur that's ALL CHEEKS!" 😂🤣
Oh my goodness eljah! I love your videos and you keep me coming back for more every time. You have such a bubbly personality and i bet you are so fun to be around. Keep doing what youre doing, dont listen to hate, and keep being a sparkiling rainbow girl! Love you so much❤
I'm currently obsessed with DnD and BG3. Loved seeing you talk about boardgames! It must be so fun playing with you and Moscoe! Hope you had fun ❤❤❤
One of my favorite episodes! and not just because I'm a massive D&D nerd
Ford really like: “This is a dimensional singularity that could destroy reality. I’m putting it in a Tupperware container.”
Currently obsessed with Baldurs Gate 3 and have played some DnD and would love to play more
I accidentally called Elijah "Charlie" today. I was wrong twice because this is clearly Mosco.
Always find it funny how no one ever make the infinity dice / infinity stone connection
"So, ALL the water is actually Randal?"
"Yes."
"Even what we drink?"
Yep."
"So does that mean when we go to the bathroom..."
"You want to roll to see if you can talk to your pee?"
"You know what? I'm good actually."
I like that the hot elf has no name, it’s just “hot elf.”
I can't stop laughing at the line "I'm a fortress!" That line made me laugh so hard.
Since you mentioned Baldur’s Gate: Ford’s voice actor stars as one of the main villains in Baldur’s Gate 3 “Ketharic Thorm”
I bet he loves D&D IRL too!
Seeing this episode again after I started playing was really cool.
i play d&d w/ my family sometimes
the "YOUR MATH IS NO MATCH FOR MY GUN!" is crazy tho
i didnt notice you werent in your regular set up i got so confused when you started talking about it 😭😭
I’m literally going to do a one shot dnd session based of this episode now 😂
This episode one of my favorites even before I started getting on board the D&D train.
I play D&D, my friends and I always try to get together once a week to play.
I was born in the 90s and that fake commercial caused me to flashback to my childhood. XD
And the 90s weren't that bad. lol
I've played dungeons and dragons before, and honestly, I loved it. The hard part is finding friends to play with and setting up a consistent schedule for it. That and being the DnD master, but i've never done that before so I'm just gonna take a shot in tge dark for that last one.
Maybe my favorite side episode. I have been playing d&d for 35 years now and still play with my brother and a friend that I started with.
Fun fact: Alex Hirsch had not played Dnd prior to writing this episode and got all of his information secondhand
I'm surprised you went the whole episode without recognizing Weird Al as Probabilitor!
Honestly I get a huge grin on my face whenever Weird Al shows up in something.
I love that Weird Al guest voiced the probabilator
So... 1: I've been playing DnD for the last 20 years (kinda stuck as a forever DM these days) and 2: BWAHAHAHA! YOUR FACE WHEN THE CENTAUR-TAUR CAME UP!!! XD
Played Advanced, 3rd 3.5, 4th, and 5th. Can be lots of fun, but the earlier ones can be really challenging before things got more newbie friendly.
D&D became a new pastime hobby during the pandemic, and I have no regrets. 😊
I know we're here for Gravity Falls but I got the biggest smile on my face when I saw you're in Mosco's setup 😊❤️
You could do a lot with an infinity-sided die. You should keep it in a better place than a cheap plastic case.
i love this episode, Weird Al voices the villain of this episode which is funny
