If and when you are in the position of wanting to process a falling tree, and the diameter is to large at the base of the falling tree. Swing the processor so that's it's not at the base but further up the tree. Once the processor pick's it up, it will then feed it self to the bottom and you'll be able to cut the length set.
I always though forestry was a bit frustrating with the controls. But after getting a joystick i think its alot of fun. And ads i bit more of realism for other machines in the game aswell
The way I play, I usually do the multiplayer money glitch and load a bunch of mods. But I have to admit, I end up starting new games every other day. Watching your playthroughs makes me want to play the game legitimately, without any mods or at least a handful. Thanks a lot for the great content!

I use a truck chainsaw and the mobile wood storage. It even works on the big trees. I put the wood storage in the back of the pick up. The straps won’t hold it down, that’s why I put it in the back of the truck. It’ll roll around in the back of the truck, but it won’t leave unless you flip the truck but anyway you can pick the storage up by hand. It’s lightweight you can have 100 and some thousand liters of wood in it and still pick it up and carry it. It’s small but that’s all I use chainsaw mobile storage and a pick up truck, really fun fast way to get rid of trees and you can either distribute them sell them or just store them😊😊😊😊😊😊
This is a nice start of the new adventure. I am looking forward to see more new equipment and productions in action. Perhaps as a side quest you could get the shipyard? A farmer cutting trees to built a boat.
@@life-pw9rg yea there is a boatyard right there on the map just go in the middle of the map and go down Edit: its also kinda inbetween the rollercoaster and the southern sawmill (on the coast)
I wonder, with the thicker tree, if you would have just cut off the 5 metres with the chainsaw off the bottom, you could then pick up the rest with the Volvo harvester and cut it to size with that. The bottom of the tree is usually the thickest.
Great start. Did you catch that it matters which way the cutter head grabs the log? So the first 2 trees, you had the yellow de-limbing claws facing the base of the log, so the first "cut" to de-limb went to the top of the tree, but the 4th tree, you grabbed it with the claws facing the top of the tree and it went down to the base and then started cutting delimbing and cutting like normal so you didn't end up with a short piece.
@@VirtualFarmer sorry VF but you can switch the head postition, form horizontal to verticale. it switches with i think the "X" key. it is even said and explaind in the blogs/first look video's about the platinum expansion....

That's beautiful. Unfortunately I'm not from Jersey, but it and the other channel islands are some of my favourite places to visit as we spent many summer holidays there when I was younger.
The unit you bought with the processor or grabber attachment. Would have been cheaper to purchase the unit with the process, and then purchase the grabber attachment, rather than a invest in two other piece's of equipment. Process as much as you wish. Switch the processor for the grabber thingy and you don't need the loader and attachment. And a loan is considerably cheaper than leasing.
Just beware of overloading a logging trailer. Farming Simulator 22 doesn't like it if your logs are over the marked limit for logs. I had a bunch of short logs on one of the driveable log grapples and was driving down the highway and the logs started wiggling like mad, meaning the physics calculations had started going bananas. I stopped to retension the belts and the second I released the belts a whole stack of logs blew up and flew everywhere!
With that particular head on the excavator you can actually go up to the other side and run it from the top, it will then let you cut the whole tree and get rid of the useless top piece while keeping the trunk and therefore price intact
@@VirtualFarmer Where do they hide the switchable items for the quick switch head? I needed a log grapple for an excavator on a map and ended up getting a mod that had a log grapple that went on the quick switch head. Seems like FS22 devs dropped the ball on that one.
Just a friendly fyi your using the processor backwards the side with the clamps goes toward the top of tree and the wheels and cutter goes toward the base
I recently bought the Platinum Version for $49 of farming simulation 22 all I want to know is how do we refill our tractors when they're running down on fuel I keep going to the service station but nothing's happening so how do I do it
You should be able to refuel by driving to the fuel station on town and pressing 'R' (on PC). Alternatively you can place your own fuel tank, but you may have to fill this first (which you do by standing by the wrench icon and pressing 'R')
Is the measuring tool a mod or a feature in game? If you got a steel mill and a plot of land to set it on you can use the iron ore from the local mine. Would require a dump trailer to tow behind your truck to do and just have it set to sell the steel as it makes it. Would help supplement your income some.
Is it first time logging? I see u struggling with the logging equips, u should do some game play and practice more instead of rushing for a video gameplay, u spend a lease on the volvo and cut the tree with the chainsaw???? 😅 lol
Game jsut looks so dated. The lighting is like a mobile game. And each year its like a cod game, minimal innovation, poor animations, cars that look like wood. Just like train sim, do the miniumum and still get paid..
Having played every version back to back, I disagree. When you do that, the improvements between each version are stark. (Farm Sim also only releases a new game every 3 years at the moment)
If you press LB and down on d pad you can flip the saw on excavator to the up right position to cut trees down ✌🏻

For stumping, get a skidloader because you need to break rocks in the future.
The bobcat on modhub would be perfect.
i hate the stump remover that comes with the skidloaders, forest mulcher works faster and better for me

Your sawmill likes 20 m logs the best. Shorter will be fine but less liters for a log.
I'd also add that the trailer works better with the longer logs as well.

You can get a stump grinder for your excavator just go into combinations and you will get one
Unfortunately I leased the excavator and I don't have the quick switch head on it, so I can't put the stump grinder on it.
