I love making my own vanilla extract. So much cheaper than store bought. I find using bourbon to give a wonderful aroma, but it is more expensive. I put all my vanilla beans in the alcohol bottle. Then once cured for 6-12 months, strain well and decant to smaller bottles. That way you don’t get the bits and pieces (and seeds) falling into your recipes when you go to use it. Love your label!
Hey Yami, just an FYI you can Jump start the process by adding each bottle to a canning jar and putting it in a pressure cooker for an hour., let it sit for a week, shake daily, and it will be ready in a week. My mother jar is 4 years old, I just top it off and add more beans as it gets low. Look into creating a mother jar, it is the richest vanilla you'll ever taste ❤
Thanks so much for the tips! I was aware of the canning process however I haven’t gotten into canning just yet and I only have an instant pot at this time. Hopefully I can test that out in the future. 🥰
@@TheLatinaNextDoorPlease do NOT use the pressure cookers as recommended above. That is really not a good idea since it can be dangerous. If I run low on my homemade vanilla extract, I will mix up a bag of homemade vanilla bean paste.
Hi Yami, I love your videos and everything you make. I am planning to to try making sourdough bread in a very near future. Thank you for the recipe. I had been making my vanilla extract for a while now. This past weekend I made vanilla bean paste and it turned out great. I think you would like it a lot. Beside vodka you can use rum as well and the results are amazing. I just have to say that to make vanilla properly, you need to weight your beans. Not two beans are the same. The ratio should be, 8/1. For every 8 ounces of alcohol it is an ounce of beans. You can do a double fold 8/2 and it gives you a darker richer vanilla. Place in a cool dark place and shake every day.
We had a kitchen reno and contractors wanted to charge us over 1k to put light under or cabinet. My hub found the strip you used and it looks great! We even change colors for fun!
Welcome to Tennessee 🧡 that’s where I am! I’d love to meet you!! Love this video and I’m definitely going to make the vanilla extract and download the printables!!
I always enjoy your videos. I think I may try the vanilla extract and also the bread. Thank you for sharing. Love hearing the baby in the background. God bless 😊
Wow, very nice. Fresh homemade bread is da bomb. Making your own vanilla extract is so extra fabulous. You must have nerves of steel,😅, I’m sure I’ve never been this smart. Hugs beautiful young lady and keep on keeping on. 😊❤
Your bread looks delicious!❤ I love sticker paper as well! I have not used Cricut's sticker paper yet, but fortunately, I have not had any issues with the sticker paper that I use jamming up in my printer.😊 As always, Yami, thank you for sharing your ideas with us! Stay safe, healthy, and positive! God bless you and your family!🙏❤️🇺🇸😊
For a extra touch of love❤️❤️❤️Amazon sells a wax cap kit for keeping a tamper free look for bottles. They are easy to apply. The perfect finish for a gift.
I have been making homemade vanilla for years. In 2005 my husband and I along with several friends did a Caribbean cruise. While at one of the ports of call we went on a tour where vanilla was made. It was there that I purchased pure vanilla for the first time and also learned how simple it was to make it. My friends and family love to ‘return’ their empty bottles with hopes of getting another gift of vanilla lol. Something I started many years ago is to actually just make the vanilla in the vodka bottle. When I need a refill or am ready to bottle for gifting etc I get out my bottles and go from there. It’s one bottle to handle during the months it’s sitting. I usually have a gallon or two going at once. There is nothing like pure homemade vanilla. I love how your labels turned out, thank you for sharing them. Your bread recipe looks amazing as well. I’m preparing to do a new sourdough starter. Mine died 🥴 so when it’s up and going I’ll have to give your recipe a try. A great video as always!
Wow!! You are so industrious and everything you do is with purpose and of course classic style!! Yours is the first vanilla extract tutorial that allowed me to think I could really do this!! Thank you for all of this today ❤ PS, that little stool is adorable. 😊
The light looks so nice, you definitely needed more light! That is a gorgeous loaf of bread, looks delicious! Love the stool and will be very easy to make different covers! I love making my own vanilla, so good and cost effective!❤️❤️
That homemade bread looked delicious!! I had no idea how to make vanilla extract, it’s a waiting game for sure! Thanks for the video Yami, can’t wait to see the house progress!💕💕💕💕🌷🌷🌷
That bread, omg, you make homemade jelly too? My sister makes her vanilla with bourbon instead of vodka, I haven’t tried it. So not sure how good it is
The bread looks so so good. I have made my own vanilla extract before. I don't bake much anymore so I just buy it. My friend made me some almond extract she said it was easy to make. Loved this video. Have a blessed week.

I see you get organic flour from the farmer's storehouse. I am so envious. It is an hour and 10 minutes from us here in Spring City😊.

I need to try almond extract next!
I make my own vanilla because my husband needs gluten-free and it"'s cheaper buying vodka and vanilla beans than buying gluten-free vanilla.
Try using bourbon instead of vodka. I believe it is gluten free…I think.
I want a slice of that bread, toasted with some butter please
The Vanilla Extract would also be great to sale at your local harvest or county fairs.❤
I love that idea! Perhaps I can attempt next year.
❤❤❤❤
