    Just a additional suggestion - you are able to countersink that valve - before poking the small hole all the way through - use a larger bit to waddle out a counter sink pocket - clean it out - then poke through - .

    • @LowenKM
      @LowenKM 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Exactly, much tidier looking, and a refill valve scavenged off a dead torch lighter also works well and tucks nicely into the countersink for a more flush fit.

      The flame is different and I love clippers because you can customize them. Use better flints, springs, wheels. And I found a way to get a bigger flame at all times. I love my mini clipper. Its tiny and blue frosted so you can see through it in the light. It works better than the bigger one.

      Well Bic lighters tend to have flint for days in them.. I have found half inch lengths left in lighters totally empty after daily smoking use. Most refillable here for example are cheap nasty affairs that probably wont see out 2 tanks of butane before they die or... heinously expensive (think Zippo, Douglass etc.)
      And to be honest, of all the disposables I think Bic lighters are the one lighter that is actually worth making refillable.

    It's not that hard to get rid of the remnant plastic pieces, the plastic ball is pretty much the exact size of the drill bit that makes the valve fit and if you chip off the little barrier in tiny pieces with enough shaking you can get it all out. And I would use a better butane, there is sulfur in that shit and if you want the valve that the flame comes out of to last its worth ordering some stuff that's fileted online or they have it at your local cigarette shop.

    • @rafaeltorre1643
      @rafaeltorre1643 ปีที่แล้ว

      If using a BIC its a fixed flame so there’s no sponge or filter so nothing to get clogged. It will degraded before it clogs a hole so will need to be switched out before then. But agree for anything else with an adjustable flame because it will clog it up fast because its filtered to adjust the flame. Which is almost most lighters anyway.

    8 comments and am still too lazy to read them but just incase: if you gonna do a few of these vids then pls consider your more elderly viewers. A close-up or two could be of help to folks like myself who do not see so sharp these days and some clearer audio. Not asking you to film the whole thing through without coughing if you don't want to, son but please would you speak up and a bit more clearly too if you could manage it.
    You might try recording on a couple of cameras, try out some angles and stuff. A separate microphone, perhaps out of shot but at the level and direction you do most of your talking. Of course, if its the editing you want to avoid and i won’t blame you for that because, boy, do people get carried away then you could probably plug an external mike into one or other of your cameras. Infact, if you plug mikes in both cameras and place them right you probably get away with switching shots and not having to overlay audio afterwards. If you happy with the single viewpoint but wanted some zoom shots and better audio then you could try a remote to operate your camera. Both remote and external microphone bound to Bluetooth to your camera somehow these days if you are worried about wires.

      Thats not how lighters work. It’s always the know it all negative commentors that don’t realize how uneducated they are. Do it right and easier. Plus theres way way better glue then anything you can dream up I use for non gasket things in lighters like actual metal that can take glue. Not a refill valve that will leak or eventually explode. There’s pressure in a lighter. Learn before commenting.

    What is the purpose of this? A Bic lighter costs under 1$. Even if you revive it, you need a butane gas bottle, it costs over 10$. Then you must change the filing, it is an additional fuss and cost. Instead of this, buy a NEW BIC! Or buy a cheap gas lighter with the valve and you refill it without any problem. The best are the ones with electronic ignition. They are also more than cheap but they have valves.

    • @rafaeltorre1643

      Butane doesn’t cost $10 unless you are buying the most premium.
