      yeah, he didn’t look great yesterday, but honestly, it feels like ever since those few insane games where he went off and everyone started hyping him up, plus the nba rumors about zalgiris talking to 5 teams, he’s just not fully focused on these games anymore.

      His head is not with the team anymore, I don’t care if he misses shots but his effort and reaction the last 4 Euroleague games he doesn’t look motivated as he did, since Asvel teams know to double team him, and aggressively defend him high up the court, he has eyes like blinkers to not fast pass out either

    Lonnie definately is NBA level talent, and I absolutely loved him on the Lakers. No idea why these fools gave him away. He had some crazy breakout games for them 2-3 years ago. I am just glad he plays for Zalgiris now, so we can watch him some more rather than him sitting on the back of some nba team's bench.

    • @bartow4024
      @bartow4024 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      He did play well a couple of times but was way too inconsistent. He was supposed to be a starter on that Lakers roster and simply couldn’t be relied on. “These fools” probably let him go because he had some market value or to free some cap space 🤷‍♂️

    I don't often disagree completely but I'm absolutely not seeing what you're talking about. Since Alba Berlin on 17th December he's put up 38 pnts at an ave of 9.5, which is his NBA rate. The Lyon game he finished with 0-5... In the last 3 games what I saw was a player failing to execute a pick & roll and walking straight into traffic to lose possession, take an ugly shot, or reset the possession with no advantage gained. Since Alba Berlin he's shooting 31% from the field and 20% from 3. He's also turning the ball over as often as he's getting assists. Does it look like teams have worked him out and are defending him well now? Has he also gone off the boil a bit too? Either way I don't see the NBA knocking, I just want his current team to get on the same page and complete some decent offensive plans and make their shots.

    He could be a NBA 6-man like Monk and Clarkson. He has the talent but needs more consistency. As a Spurs fan, he was on a short leash with Pop. He didn’t get a fair opportunity imo. He needed consistent minutes to grow and develop more confidence in his game.

  • @richwilliams521

    he is in euroleague because 20ppg over there translates to MAYBE 5-10ppg in the NBA if they land in the right role. Personally, I would rather score 20+ ppg and be a star in Europe than be a bench warmer in the NBA (if finances did not matter that is)

    Does this guy even watch Zalgiris? Lonnie has been inefficient with his shot chucking, if he has a shooting slump he's good at nothing and can't defend for anything. The team has gotten worse since we acquired him, should go back to a defense-centric style of play.

      First of all that's not a fact you literally made it up. Secondly America has done more in the last few hundred years (right and wrong) than any country has in world history cut the sh*t 😂. Music, food, movies, fashion, especially technology, art, innovation etc. I would rather be home in the nba making 100x more money than to be somewhere in a foreign country trying to convince myself I'm at the highest level. I'm an American and I played pro overseas for over a decade at the eurocup level and champions league level. I had a cup of tea in the nba my 2nd year pro. I have american friends that play currently at level from the tbl to the nba and current Euro league players for reference. Any player that says they prefer Europe is just doing it for PR or mad because they can't get back in the nba. Behind closed doors I promise you no American player gives af about Europe and can't wait to get out of there when the season is over. There are some nice places but we have everything Europe has with way more people that look like us. Give any player the exact same minutes and touches from a Euroleague team vs an NBA one and I guarantee you they will pick the NBA 10/10 times. Elite American players fall to the Euroleague, they don't choose it. Remember that.

    I’m a lifetime diehard Spurs fan so I’m extremely familiar with Lonnie Sky Walker. Unfortunately the issue with Lonnie is that he’s his own worst enemy which results in inconsistency. Another issue is that in the NBA coaches often force players to kiss ass to the Stars of the team.
    For instance instead of Lonnie taking an open shot on the Lakers, the rule of thumb is give the ball back to Lebron even if Lebron is having an absolute awful night. This often results in players like Lonnie getting cold, rusty and effecting their confidence.

    It's not about being in the top 450 players in the world. If you're not in the top 150 or so, and there's nothing that makes a GM think they can get you to sign a contract that you might significantly overperform, then there's a chance you're out of the league.

    This is first impression its new player and you will see when other teams make homework scouting, he dont do that anymore! In Serbia we have expreession that first born cats throwing in water! Mot meaning something wrong, meaning that realy players make more after more games! You can see that in Zeljko tactics, they play always same system in game in game when player learn they will win, also must recognize. Same situation is with this player, he will be good but when others team find way how to stop hiim everything will be diffrent!

    For NBA win now teams he just hasn't got the defensive effort and knowhow to be an asset. He also may be "too old" for young building teams, which I think is insane because he can be a vet on the team and he isn't even old, lol.
    He is like a DLo someone who can get hot and get buckets, but can also be cold for long stretches and lose focus and confidence. When he isn't able to score he is a liability, which is why teams may have passed on him.
