Stevie, you guys were so underrated. I regularly listen to 'What Comes Around Goes Around' to this day and it still holds up. A fantastic album all around. 'Religious Fix' was pretty good too. Can't wait to see this film and all of you guys from back in the day! Rock on, man!
I wish I grew up in that decade. I absolutely love listening to 80s rock bands like Poison, Quiet Riot, Dokken, Ratt, LA Guns, Motley Crüe, Guns N’ Roses, Cinderella, Van Halen, Bon Jovi, W.A.S.P, Great White, Kix, etc. Also a big flip of the bird to anyone who thought that 80s rock was satanic and bad. It’s freaking awesome music
The 80s to beginning of 90's was the best time to be alive.. so much fun and great music.. Kids today will never experience true music and real rockstars
Sometimes when I look back, I still can't believe that I lived that life as a teenager. It was absolutely insane and I wouldn't trade a single moment of it for anything! 🤘😝🖤
The amount of excitement I have been waiting for something like this to come out!! I was a Jr and Sr in the late 80's when this stuff was at it's peak! BEST TIME EVER to be that age!!!
I grew up listening to glam/hair metal and I'm excited to see someone do a documentary such as this. I can't wait! I'm gonna see some of my favorite bands, both from that era and after it, in this doc and I'm pumped!
Now this is my time and my jam, such an incredible, fun, and raucous time for the bands and the fans. Me and my wife (who also loved this era the most) will watch this. Reminds me of the old VH1 documentaries on bands from the 80s/90s.
Steve Miller Pink Floyd Aldo Nova Iron Maiden Van Halen Metallica Journey Fleetwood Mac watching Stevie on stage at dusk ...wind blowing her hair in a light rain Oakland ..long black dress flowing YES Tom Petty Ozzie, Frampton, the Tubes Ahhhh!!!!!😂🎉❤ 😝🤯👻😻
@@hermajestyqueenmarcia All of the above. Big hair, tight pants, short skirts, high heels, loud guitars, a little Bolivian marching powder, some jack & coke, skateboards, dayglow...80s were NUCKING FUTZ & EFFING' AWESOME! 🤘😝🤘
NONE are Metal though. NONE. You mention bands that were seen as Metal then in the CONSERVATIVE 80s but aren't now, especially Bon Jovi and Aerosmith. This was HARD ROCK or even Pop, not Metal. ACTUAL Metal doesn't "make the top 40" ususally. I was a fan of all those bands but I don't listen much anymore (Van Halen not withstanding!) because they just feel dated now.
I wonder if Hanoi Rocks will have a chapter, cause is one of my favorite bands, and I think they influence another american bands, any way, I really can’t wait to see this docuserie
Paramount+ just made a very good, very similar doc a year ago - "I Wanna Rock: The '80s Metal Dream" - and now it's not on Paramount+ anymore. Some of us want to catch up ahead of this new one!!
I’m pretty sure this will still only touch the surface (and likely be a 3 part / 3 hour look), but I’m in! If you were a teenager at this time you listened to almost nothing else. It was loud, fun and sexy. Especially if you grew up in a working class Northern UK town. It looks as if some of the genres big names won’t appear, but it would be fab to have a few words from the likes of Blackie Lawless, Mark Slaughter or even Michael Sweet!
Great fvcking times!! I was 15 and watched Ratt debut through the front doors of the Roxy in Hollywood. First concert was Heavy Metal day at the US festival, 20 bucks for that day!!
Looks like going to be a great doco series nothing but a good time the uncensored story of 80s hair featuring great popular bands from the 80s streaming September 17th on paramount plus looks interesting to watch
Rock n' roll was always inherently ridiculous. Eighties hair metal just took that aspect and turned it right up to eleven, which is precisely what makes it so appealing even now. Exhibit A, m' lud: Rock You Like A Hurricane by the Scorpions: simultaneously brilliant and preposterous.
I was an 80s kid and the only true, blue metal head in my school. My sixth grade teacher actually had a conversation with me about how dangerous metal music was and how it programmed people into becoming satanic. I was 12 or 13, and the whole time I'm like "WFT are you talking about?"
I've seen plenty of docs about the 80s hair metal scene. They were played a lot in the late 90s and the very early 2000s. This probably is most of the same stuff. But I'm still going to watch it anyway.
It’s funny to me that these documentaries focus on the excess and the darker side of the 80s hair/metal era. As if groupies, drugs and lavish lifestyles didn’t exist for all the proceeding and following musicians over the decades. If you asked the random teenager that grew up at that time, 80s music was simply about a good time and having fun. As in any genre, there are facets and spectrums of the music. However, the overarching message from 80s hair metal was simply about positive loud music that resonated with you. That is why it is still popular to this day for those that grew up with it and those who are discovering it. It’s a formula that will stand the test of time.
Looking forward to this, but you could get your fix on TH-cam watching both VH1s When Metal Ruled The World, and Heavy: The History of Metal Part III, which includes a lot of musicians from the decade. I have a feeling a lot of what those shows covered twenty years will show up in the new doc. I’m disappointed Motley and Ratt didn’t make it in. Hope to see George Lynch.
Epic... can't wait... and yes myself and TUFF are included and we're honored to be a part of this!
Tuff so underated

The 80s and the hard Rock hair metal bands was the best time for my generation! I'm in my 50s now but I still listen to it almost every day 😎🤘
You and me both!

👍🤘🇦🇺
So does this 54 yr old metal-head....ROCK ON my brother!!

"You didn't realise what a Magical time you were in" So well said, It was the Future before the Future...
Who remembers this kind of documentaries made by VH1 ?
"Heavy: The Story of Metal" was so goood!
They were awesome
"The Story Behind the Music" were the best. I think they are still out there, somewhere on the Internet.
Behind the music Ratt and def Leppard were great episodes
It reminds me of the “Behind The Music” too! 😂😂😂
Yesss
The 80s were a f***ing blast!!! Ten dollar concerts, keg parties and the rocker girls were the best 🤘🎸🍺
Oh my, those girls, girls, girls... 😜
The 80s to beginning of 90's was the best time to be alive.. so much fun and great music.. Kids today will never experience true music and real rockstars
I'm 56 now lived and survived those great years , every weekend was a party music still great now
Excellent - the 80s music scene was an era that can only be described as: MAGIC⚡️⚡️
Sometimes when I look back, I still can't believe that I lived that life as a teenager. It was absolutely insane and I wouldn't trade a single moment of it for anything! 🤘😝🖤
So happy to be included in this
The exclusion of Mötley Crüe is just criminal. You can't have '80s Hair-metal excess without the Crüe.
They were excluded? SWEET!!!
It sort of makes sense because they have 'The Dirt' on Netflix
I agree. Its like the Metal Evolution documentaries leaving Pink Floyd out in the prog episode.
Yeah motley, kiss, van halen and Aerosmith should be mentioned glam wouldn’t exist otherwise

I can’t wait to watch it. I love documentaries and I love rock, the perfect combination ❤❤

I'm so freaking glad this was my Era of badass music & gorgeous hairbands that rocked wonderfully & hard!
Can't wait to watch this. I love 80s hard rock! Still rocking it 🎸🤘

I have no idea how so many from your generation listen to rap and pop music auto tune is pure garbage

Who did not want to participate? I’m curious.
I got chills when I saw Steve Riley... 😢 He's dearly missed...
☹️
Can't wait. The book of the same name was amazing.

Don Dokken! Their album "Under Lock and Key" was one of my faves from that time. Will tune in to this, for sure.
