I got back into this game recently and oh my God. The SILENT ATMOSPHERE of waiting in the dark as the kidnapper is outside is one thing I will never forget. It makes my eyes water from fear. Update: I tried again with the mic on. Literally covered my mouth and froze when I heard what sounded like footsteps behind me. The fact that this game is $5 SHOCKS ME.
if you were to look close enough then you would see the kidnapper lacks eye protection an also stalls at yoinking you so he is not only legaly blind when you turn off the light but also suseptable to a quick (no more eyes) moment
no game has made me jump this much (and this isnt even the full thing) its just the sudden turn and sound cue for me. also the suspense. that shit is powerful in any horror game lmao

One of the websites in the sequel especially still disturbs me to think about many years later. It's the diary written by a girl's stalker: you read about him growing more unstable, he kills her, then he falls into a delusion where he believes they're in a happy relationship. Nightmarish stuff. I will never attempt to play this game ever again, though.

It is. 90% of the """""horror""""" comes from the fact that a single mistake can destroy a half hour or longer run, which is exponentially worse in the sequel. I LOVE this game! One of my favorite horror puzzle(?) games. The atmosphere and the area sweeping mixed with trying to delve deeper into the mystery of the dark web is an amazing duality!
The best type of horror i feel is always taking something real, real photos, real concepts, etc. And cranking that ish up. I would like to see an analog horror series based on those old rabies PSAs at some point cause watching one of those was so scary for no real reason except the lack of background noise and the dude's voice

One funny thing about WTTG2 is that the developer can remote into your game to troll you. The game also has an in game browser that can play for example youtube videos, so you may see what this can lead to.

It's a horror game where you have the one guy at the computer finding the codes, and everyone is looking around the house to see if there's shit going down. I think that could be kind of cool because there could be like just enough problems where people have to rotate and look around and can't just look out one window.
