      The PH is forecast to be the slowest recovery in SE Asia Jeff....so that may offer some opportunities for those looking for "deals".

    Great vid Rod👍 I was very surprised to see a classic American 1957 Ford Thunderbird cruising in the other direction when you went past Crossroads 6:47. I would say that is pretty unique for the Philippines, I know there was a great following for the early VW's and FJ40 Landcruisers when I was last there but didn't see many American classics. Thanks again for keeping us informed👍. I am looking forward to returning once the dust has settled from the Winnie the pooh flu.

    Great video as always Rod. So much construction going on there I won’t recognise the place when I get back. Great news that SRRV is back! First I’d heard that. But I suppose you still can’t travel there on that. Oh well, Hong Kong is good for now at least. Have a great day!

    In Indonesia it's only $266 dollars US for an investor visa and it gives you permanent residency.

    Rod, fantastic talk and ride video. I was so into this video, I saw the people on the truck waving and I even waved back myself. So great you will do another video on SRRV retirement. Really need those updates. Cebu, is perfect area for me to retire with the international airport, large hospitals and military veteran stuff too especially since I am age 58 now. Rod, you have great patience too. That is what people in the Philippines appreciate the most with us Americans when we do that as courtesy, having lived there before at Clark Air Base. Wonderful scenes to see on locations in Cebu, so I have a ideal on where everything is at, in my retirement plans in the future. You are on target about everything most likely opening up around Christmas time too. Thanks again for helping us all.

    I think you last year talked about that the city could become more dangerous when more people are losing their jobs etc. Has that been the case, is the city more dangerous now?

    • @AmazingPhilippines1
      @AmazingPhilippines1  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      They claim that crime has gone down Hew, probably because of the control on movement. Most crime statistics around the world are really not that accurate so not sure of the reality. There are more homeless and others on the streets asking for money and food.

    Hi Rod, another interesting video, thanks. I have contacted JRC Visa Consultancy 2 times trying to get information about getting a SRRV but never heard back, I think a police clearance from my home country is need and it must be within 6 months to be good, I'm in America and would like to know if this is true and is there anything other paperwork that I can bring there with me when the Philippine is reopened.

      There are a couple of congressmen here handing out Ivermectin to their citizens and "cases" are reduced substantially Rick. There is $$$ here and around the world trying to prevent an effective, safe, and cheap solution from being used. There is a company somewhere in phase 1 of an ivermectin vaccine showing great results.

    It would be interesting what the Philippines govt will do by Christmas. With the delta variant increasing in 47 states here in the US as of right now. All I know for sure there is no more fiesta gathering in January. It’s probably indefinitely. People don’t know this I was at the hospital In Cebu City on Jan 14th 2020 to visit my father. Covid was already there. The news was just broke out a virus just broke out from wuhan. I went to the hospital front desk staff to process my fathers death certificate and they where talking about 5 Chinese travelers that was just quarantined. I can see worry of their faces and confusion. I didn’t think much about it. Then the largest fiesta (Sinulog) in Cebu City Jan 16th-18th 2020 happened. I bet lots of people got infected in the fiesta then brought it home with them in their respected countries after it was over. By the time I left feb 20th to the US the Filipino taxi drivers was required to wear mask and airports and flying back I had to wear a mask in all flights. the rest is history.

    Tell the Philippines to lift all restrictions or go broke, tourists are not going to jump through crazy hoops just to get ripped off, they will take their money elsewhere.

    • @AmazingPhilippines1
      @AmazingPhilippines1  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I agree Tom. Thailand tried "Special Visas" and such to attract tourists but few are going with restrictions in place.
