I’m very attached to this mall, it’s where I had my first kiss, it’s where I had my first job (Chick Fil a) and it’s where I used to go and walk around when I needed to clear my head. I’m sad to see it go. Thank you for posting this to let me go down memory lane.
Malls are becoming less popular because many of them have a lack of stores. A lot of national retailers are scaling back store count because they feel that they can make up the revenue with online shopping. There also has been more outdoor retail centers that have opened in the last 20 years that have increased competition. But honestly having an indoor mall is a real asset when its raining or freezing outside. I think at some point malls will undergo a renaissance due to practical reasons even if on a smaller scale. Not to mention only certain mall owners such as Simon or Brookfield are successful right now. Greenbrier mall is still in a very busy corridor that would definitely support the mall if it still had a balanced retail mix.

It's crazy. I lived in Chesapeake for the first 7 years of my existence, and it was always packed. Had a lot of great memories there.
A lot has changed. Thanks for watching!
I grew up playing in the arcade here. So many memories
Used to take my kids there all the time
Hello underrated dead mall channel! I’ve subscribed 😄
Thanks! 👍🏾
Realities malls are becoming increasingly unpopular, a thing of the distant past memories so darn sad 😔 ❤

Malls thrive in Japan. Why not here? People don’t want to leave the house and get fresh air?
Watch malls make a comeback in 20 years and we're all pissed we didnt invest.
I went there a few times in 2005, that place was packed then.
I lived in VA at that time. It was like a movie then
Malls were a dying beast before the dread disease sped up the collapse.
Indeed. Thanks for watching 🫡

Use to live in Waterbury CT n went to Greenbrier Mall alot
Can't believe how empty it looks now.
It's sad 😔
With all that space, they could replace the mall with a town center. Chesapeake is behind compared to other cities.
