Absolutely love mine. Got a 6-string GPS Special about 6 months back and it's everything a Thumb BO should be. Suuuuper clean, responsive, the Wenge neck is unbelievably smooth and "fast". Fabulous series and thank you so much Jason for making this happen! Can't wait for my next bass from you (custom, 23 months out).
Mine is Thumb BO 4, with its serial number of 402, 1994 model. It has BEAUTIFUL wenge neck and walnut(!) body. I saw several other thumbs for 5 string candidates but no neck can satisfy me any longer. Need to pay more for Wenge neck!!!

My 2004 wenge necked thumb is my number #1 goto bass - I love that neck.
I had a 2005 thumb nt 5, 8 actually loved the thick neck.

I have that same config on a 1998 Thumb BO 5, probably the last batch around that time with that exact config, and it sounds like a beast :) .
Most definitely! These newer ones have a slimmer profile neck that is just such a dream to play!
@@slapinfunk actually, mine has a slim profile too haha. It’s a pre-baseball bat neck, pretty close to what you can find with Ibanez SDGR models ;) .

Old Wenge-necked Wicks did NOT have chunky necks. The « baseball bat » U shaped neck came with the ovangkol necks in early 2000s.
Yes. Pretty much all the necks in the 2000-2013 time had chunky necks :-/
