I just have to say that though our folk or etno sound is likely the most interesting to foreign ears, we still can't send the same stuff every single year, it would become boring :). So we try to mix things up. Every year send sometihng a bit different from the previous year. But we will always return to that Serbian sound you speak of because that is what we have in abundance in our music industry. No worries, it won't be lost
I can understand when foreigners like Zeljko Joksimovic but his voice is just average kafana voice. there are much more talented people here than him. Marija is great singer but sadly she failed to capitalize on it. Sanja Vucic is pure gold made for music industry. Love her charisma and voice range. Hopefully she will represent us again. Konstrakta doesnt have golden angelic voice as Marija, Sanja, Bojana or Nevena but she is artistic genius and In corpore sano is out of this world both lyricwise and performerwise. Luke Black had great song but I think he failed to get serious and deliver with bang. Serbian J is not English J but Y. Nova Deca had problem with sound and one of the singer was out of her tune which destroyed song. and finally, Serbian musicians debuted in 1961 not with Marija...
