But a man is treated differently or say they are not pin pointed or picked up for things. My point is we must raise our kids equally. A boy should be taught that a house is also his responsibility. We don't want our men to handle kitchen completely or other chores but little initiatives would chip in more happiness and there would be less frustrations - don't you agree?

Sushma!! In olden days people lived in joint families and women helped eachother out for prep work. So it would be over faster and move onto main celebrations.There were exclusions but someone in our ancestor was a sadist n decided to impose instead of giving choice. U DONT HAVE TO DO 'KATIKA UPAVASAM' where u neither eat or drink, if one could they did other has water panakam fruits or milk throughout the day. Also in those days of no electricity women would finish the visits before sunset not after which mean women had time to eat n clean n rest. These days we feel its a burden because no one helps us or tell us the truth about these. For women of those days n maybe even today These are ways to socialise.
