As always, PURE QUALITY.
Fixing one pair at a time ;)
Great video! Have you dispensed with the E6000? Is the Barge Cement better?
Damn that sole is golden piss yellow lol
I really appreciate your videos guys, without you i would be lost!
hi,, i just wanna say that your video helps a lot.,.. and i just wanna ask something if we can use a super glue for air jordan????
I feel like you do everything so easily and professionally. I bought barge cement and attempted to fix sole separation on white black 13s, sample steel 10s, and OG space jams, and it's not working out too well :/
Great Video Guys!!! Keep up the good work!
:D
restoremysneakers I need your help bad! I finally got some columbias 11s got a dela on some for $350in amazing shape. The soles are yellowed so I started restoriing the soles. The 1st 2 days went well. Last night i decided to put the lamp closer to the sole which was a mistake. when i checked this morning the midsole and carbon fiber plate had seperated upward and away from the shoe itself and appeared a bit warped from the heat. i tried to push it back down but the sole and plate wouldnt line up correctly :/ Looks liek they warped upwards and stayed in that position. Have you ever ran into this? wondering if i can use a hair dryer to heat the midsole and plate back up and pus it back down to match up with the shoe itself then glue it.
Great vid, but quick question. You said you recommend letting the shoe sit for a few days. Should I leave them in the box sitting for a few days or in the box with a shoe lace wrapped around it to make sure it secure? Get back please
you can use more than little dabs of barge cement. ( in the process of restoring my 2002 raptor 7s) and watching RetroSnickers really made it just as easier. still a big fan of your work as a subscriber
Great job guys, very informitive and nice editing job too. I look forward to grabbing these at the end of the year.
@JordanRuiz23 It's the edges of the soles that need the most attention. Which is something that can't be attended to if the pressure is just coming from standing on it.
Thanks for the video. Just how hot is it where you are? lol. If I would open up my sneaker box and seen a sole hanging off of my J's, my whole week would be shot. I just picked up some 2011's and those are the only ice sole J's I have. Now I'm scared that one summer morn, I'm going to open the box and ...
Anyway, keep the vids coming. You are taking sneaker upkeep to a whole new level.
how much gaup do you spend on supplies to fix your kicks?? i swear you be doin the most on dese sneakers
my bnds black toe had small sole seps but when i tried pulling a little they seperated easily . Probably the guy i bought them from ,never used aircon or fans/dehumidifiers,i’m on the philippines so it’s hot&humid almost all year ,good thing we have kicksomatic,a sneaker repair shop. They will be fixed by them
very detailed and helpful video.
very impresses bro those are difficult because the sole indeed seperate.
First, great vid as usual! Second, when that sole dropped my eyes bugged out lol. Third is a question... when something like this happens, why dont you remove the entire outsole and then use sea glow to removed yellowing and re apply the sole with the cement? I know itll take a while but would the results be better than doing it the usual way that could eventually cause this? Just curious if its a good idea or more trouble than its worth.
Awesome video, love the production work. Keep it up with the quality videos, peace.
have u tried completely taking the sole off of the 11s and tried to restore them? like boiling them in salt water or say soaking them in sea glow... just curious about other methods
@TopKnotchKicks You'll have to use heat to melt the glue. Heating up the carbon fiber plate with a hair dryer or leaving the shoes outside in the heat for 10-20 minutes will probably work to separate the soles.
great video
First of all, huge fan. I copped some black cat 3s and i was wondering how to restore the greyish tnge to the elephant print.
i think you should re-do the whole sole from scratch! I've tried your method before and ended up doing it anyway!
Can u do a vid of how to take out ankle creases
@jbugzy The effects of Sea Glow is temporary. The yellowing comes back. My Concords only cleared up to a certain point. It never really cleared up all the way when I used Sea Glow on them 3 years ago. My 2000 Space Jams, took 2 days to get really clear back then.
@restoremysneakers - Didnt even think about the soles warping or shrinking... Thanks Bro!
Life saving video! Thanks!!
@reymisterio51 I believe there's a glue thinner that Barge sells to thin out the glue. But I'm sure you would have to cautious using it since it can probably damage the surrounding areas of the 11's.
I would suggest removing the glue and re-gluing it all over again with just the right amount of glue.
i know its just background music but it really fits the video.
@FUNSOLETV Years of yellowing is pretty much it, without getting too much heel drag. When you get heeldrag it exposes the new layer of rubber bringing in the grip, so it won't be shiny.
All clear soles turn yellow no matter what.
Won't the sneakers smell like glue and appear to be fake afterwards? Is there a cement with no smell?
i'm going to try re gluing some separation on my Ginger 16's tonight hopefully this works :,( i'm desperate to fix em
really good stuff guys, i missed your vids lol, feel like its been for ever haha :)
I think I need to get this done with these OG Foams...
I charge 20 bro
KickLounge
Wait....wouldn't it make since just leave the sole's off & seaglow them & them put them back on ???
@airjordanxiv Kind of came to the conclusion that E-6000 would be best for small jobs, but even at that case, Barge works a lot easier and bonds separated areas faster.
if the sole is hanging off,
might it be a good time to completely remove it
then go crazy with the sea glow before regluing it?
could leave them soaking for days
I just want to ask if there is a "starting" sole separation of the Jordan 11, near the carbon fiber. Or on any part of the shoes. How do I deal with it?
Shall I wait for the whole sole to separate from wearing or do I take it out on purpose to re-glue the whole sole back?
Thank you very much!
those look awesome does it work on foamposites
awesome video....
@dairen45 we do it to keep the shoe lookin nice. however some sneakerheads like yellowed soles. and its the combo of the heat from the sun and the chemicals that cause the soles to separate... moreso the sun's heat though
I cant find Barge cement in any store?? Where you get that stuff?
Nice job
@yoitsspiderman make sure that it's a clear color since AJ 11 soles are clear.
Can i use lexel clear glue instead for same results? looks better!
Do you have a vid of fixing sole separation on 12s cuz my OG taxi 12's soles r starting to separate? :(
Can you do a video on how to reattach the sole on the 7s?
@nightwing2303 My brother might respond do this. I actually recommended this to him (because it makes perfect sense) and use a combination of indoor method. However, there might be some type of expansion and contraction on the actual soles that will change it's shape. In other words, will the soles go back on flush after sea glow. Plus, my brother seems fine with the yellow on the soles at this point. - the camera guy
@JMilionair Thank you. I'm glad you appreciate the production quality. It takes 6-8 hours to get these videos completed. - the camera guy
Have you made shoe's professionaly in the past?
before applying the cement i noticed you said clean the sole first. Is there anything specific that to you to clean the sole?
@xNJRx18x Those were basically my claims about the product back in 2007. However, I've had other shoes with no carbon fiber plate separate on me as well. So it's mainly due to overall heat while the shoes are outside.
@xDrTruthx Cleaning in general or getting rid of the yellowing?
have you tried using Gorilla Super Glue? I used it for glue for gluing the upper of my XI's back to the midsole and it doesn't seem to stick that well. Also, I got super glue stains on the patent leather, do you know a way to get the stains out?
whats better to glue soles back on-barge cement or liquid nails?
Do you think it will work well with a goop, too?!
acetone i believe some type of acidic compund that can break down glue
hey i just got some deadstock og bred 11's, should i separate them myself and reglue them to remove any risk of sole separation during wear?
The bottom rubber is coming off my 4s can I use barge cement to fix it?
do u know when will the other concords version release?december 2011?
@moelest We'll see. There is a reason I use the f-stop I'm on, as f16 will require brighter lights and possibly have to up the iso giving us more grain. I'll stop it down a bit next time to increase depth of field. Thanks. - the camera guy
I had a question? If barge cement was used to restore a pair of kobe's that I have, would it be durable enough to take on performance for basketball? Is there any alternative besides barge cement that you would use?
@jordanmilitray4 I've only seen the 95-96 OG version turn to an orange colored tint. I have yet to see it happen to the 2001 or CDP version.
Found a pair of bred 11s with sole separation for 115$.. Should I cop?
i know you made this video in 2011. i have the air jordan 22's. the soles are worn through from playing bball in them. rest of the shoe is in wearable condition. i love this kicks. could you fix my soles for me? how much do you charge?
Hey I got my cool grey XI and I'm wondering if you have any videos or if you have any idea how to fix the squeaking sole it kills me that there brand new and they squeak s much. Please helpme
Air Jordan. Love for the shoes!
@ptaylor7805 Thanks, definitely appreciate it. The glue just weakened over time. So the shoes just separated on their own inside the box.
How do I clamp down the very tip of the 11s the toe box
Because Concord 11's actually look pretty nice with yellowed soles.
hello do you actually offer restoration services? I have a pair of ds cherry 11 lows that has sole seperation
Can I seaglow the soles while it is separated? The sole won't distort past its original form will it?
@restoremysneakers :O cant wait.......cool grey is not my cup of tea and I cant buy space jam and CDP last few years in sneakers shop.....cant wait for concords!
is it ok to use mighty bond on the toe cap? i experience slight sole separation on that area of a ds concords ..pls. help thanks
Which cement did u use....
A little of my midsole is starting to peel... Should i use the same process?
Does it matter if you use Barge Cement INFINITY for the 11 sole separation? or is Barge Cement All-purpose good enough?
How do you get bleach stains or of mesh I applied it and it changes colors hour do I get it back to write please help
What brand is the cement/glue that you used? and where could I get it?
Barge cement glue. Make sure you get the ifinity/green label. Also you can find it at amazon, ebay,
What is the best way to remove the rubber sole?
@Doeboiifreshhh We might try it again during the summer, but with some other shoes. All of my XI's are pretty much maxed out in terms of unyellowing.
For some reason i don't have sole separation. but the patent leather is separating from the midsole. would the barge cement help fix this??
To clean it you would buy something called RIT Whitener Brightener to get the best results.
any tips on how to remove the extra glue from the actually sole ?
@THESNEAKERADDICT glad you liked it. - the camera guy
How can i fix the patent leather. I was cleaning my low top jordan 11's (red bottoms) with alochol and a tooth brush and i damaged the patent leather i was wonder if its fixable. Reply back asap when you see this please.
@iNEEDJORDANS you should use rit cleaner
Where would I be able to buy the bottoms sole
Where can you find this and how much need some to put on the sole of some foamposites
do the bred turn yellow like the space jam or concords?
@GRAND412 There's always a camera trick ;) My brother actually struggled a bit with the clamping part on the Air Jordan 11's. We didn't want to show 20 minutes of clamping so that was removed from the video. - the camera guy
How do you clean the old glue off of the out-sole and mid-sole before gluing?
Sand paper its like fixn a flat tire on a bicycle besides using a blower dryer
If I send you a cool Grey 11 with the sole separation how much would u charge I don't trust myself on doing?
i do it for 50 plus shipping depending on how much is separated
I do it for 20
Matt Shown its just as bad as that one. I got the of cool grey og. it seen better days but I can't see myself not try to fix them up and wear them.
Bomba88x let me get sum information on you pm
@bznraisu appreciate that you like our vids...but the last time I checked...expert village was still using 360p to film their content. I know what you mean about the tutorial style...but these vids are hard enough to film already. Give me an example of someone doing sneaker vids differently (and better) so I can learn from it. If you're looking for an MTV crib kind of look...we don't got the time or budget to do that kind of thing. Find me an example. Thanks!- the camera guy
you just showed us how to do a foamposite sole swap lol... w.o the cutting
Can you use a Size 12 Jordan 11 Sole for a sole swap and put it on a size 11.5?
how would you clean the upper white part of the concords?
hey i have some one selling me some og bred 11s for 150 but it does need work like the soles are comming apart like in this vid and some cleaning what do you think?
It's this glue the same as sae shell glue? Thanks ..
