Been riding since the early 80's. Give me 2 stroke all day, every day. Less maintenance, less engine braking, more BRAAAP. Specifically I ride nothing but 125's now. They've come a long way in terms of power and how that power is used. Light, nimble, doesn't wear me out as much. Oh noes, the shifting! When you've been riding these things for 30+ years you don't even think about the shifting anymore. It's not even a conscious effort to shift more often, it's just natural. I just do not prefer 4 strokes. Tried them, plenty of them, sell them off quickly.
I have a 2023 KTM SX-F 350! I also LOVE YZ's!!! I'd bet anything that Yamaha wouldn't even be able to keep up with demand if they built a YZ350 4 stroke, not sure why they aren't but sadly I've heard many times the odds of one of the Japanese making a 350 is slim to none.
I'm a old Vet Racer. 2 Stroke 250 for me. Pro Circuit Porting, V Force Reeds, PRO Circuit pipe and silencer. Fun as hell to ride, cheap to keep and maintain , Easy to work on. I race in a budget and always have money left iver at the end of the season. Couldn't do that when I had a 450, plus 450 just wasn't Fun. A 350 would be very good but then back into maintenance coats. Porting my smoker made the power very broad and easy to use. And just can't beat he fun factor for me. As far as 4 strokes I think a 350 would be best. 250s are eh unless you spend a tin if money in mids for more power then ya might as well if gotten a 350
"amazing bikes - but not really this one, the new ones - but this is still amazing - i prefer it - but not really, you do need to change and update everything on it, but the chassis still amazing". OK.. I just ordered boots and rest of gear.. 2 bikes inc next week. They will fit nicely into new garage.. government and bank loves me. bankguy is my best friend.
I'm a old pro vet ! And my life is about 500cc 2stroke.... But what I'm riding a RMZ450 dot take me wrong.... That bike is awesome old factory bike and it so sweet it's like ride a 350cc. Smooth but strong motor. And good suspension... But if I had my old SR500 still it would be my second choice. First choice is the 1985 HRC bike so amazing bike👌 But those are not public bike of the floor! Just my input and best regards from Sweden Scandinavia 🇸🇪
I was going close to getting a new generation 250SX-F for the MX track… then I saw they were bringing out a 300SX TBI… so I retired my 300EXC from desert use back to enduro. 😁 Pure track, 250SX-F is a great choice. 😎
My friends advised me to avoid used 250 F's because of the cost and need to rebuild. Even a pro rider moved to 450 class because they cost less to race than 250's. If you are buying new and change your bike before it goes boom a 250 F is a great bike. I would like to see the 125 class return. Nationals could go back to 3 classes. Sadly most Vets can't ride 125's because they are too fat or just don't have the skill.
You’d be surprised my fat ass 195lbs-205lbs get pulled around pretty damn good with the 21 ktm125 it’s insane! They’re so good they definitely need to bring back 125 racing.

I’m an old vet and I prefer the 450. Put the couch in 3rd and let her eat. I’m lazy 😆
Same 💪🏼😆
Big difference in forks with the earlier years. Wish more manufacturers would make 350’s across the board. A little surprised Yamaha hasn’t yet.
Yea Yamaha, hows bout a WR350F, YZ350F or YZ350X. Oh….and could you please make the WR350F street legal? Thank you Yamaguchi

OMG fat thumbed my spelling
I’m 33, ride a TPI 250 2t. 350 4 strokes feel like cheater bikes. Amazingly planted, rev forever and don’t pull your arms out.

I think my old 08 crf450 feels good.
Bike looks great 👍
Nice riding Jay
Everyone should ride big two strokes. Constantly ringing the neck of a 250 4T blows almost as much as WP suspension...

Chain looked a little tight in the still shots. You looked comfortable on the riding segment.
Looking to buy a crf250F. That is a nice R you have built. I want it for my wife and friends new to riding.
Epic bike
Awesome!!!!!!
does going up in the back make it so your not having to shift as much? i like how light the 250f is i just dont like to have to shift constantly lol
I thought you and Rado where diehard 350 guys!
Jay, do you happen to know if the GG tank and shrouds fit the 16-18 KTMs without changing the rear end out also?
Only 2019 and up. Email further questions. Thanks.
@@dirtbiketv1 thank you. Figured, but thought I'd ask someone who's maybe played around with it.
Get a stock yz 450 f and ride it, don't need to splash money on improvements and motor outlast any 250 f. 280 hours here and still running like new.
Wait, why is Rado not riding? Also, sick build as always! Looks incredible!
He hurt / broke his hand I think
@@stevedouglas1654 Ahhhhh ok......this a riding accident I assume?
@@stevedouglas1654 shoulder I think
Ive had everything from 125s to CR500s. What do I ride now?… 23 KX250X 👍🏼👍🏼
Let us know why, please. Thanks!

I thought this was going to be a discussion on why amateurs and vets should ride 250s verse 450s
300 2 strokes are superior
39 in Jan, I got no intention of getting a 250f. I have a yz 250 smoker, my baby, and I'm close to getting a new24 kx45050th! Fk getting old
no, we shoudl all ride 250 or bigger two strokes.
Nope. Cr 500
It sounds so ignorant to say ‘250F’ when you mean ‘250 four stroke.’
Why they’ve been doing it for 20
Years? It’s literally a GASGAS MC 250F by model name lmao.
