I purchased it blind.. I wasn't sure at first and thought I wasted my money (100ml) I just wasn't vibing with it. I went out and got it on impulse late on a Thurs night here in Australia. I tested it on my wrist in the car, before I drove home from the top end department store. It just did not grab me.. It only started to work it's magic the next day. While I was on my way home from work I thought I was imagining a lingering smell in my car.. When I got home from work I sprayed some on my neck and then.... Wow just Wow.. It was absolute magic! I got it.. I understood it.. I appreciated the craft and skill that has gone into the mastery of this creation. It is Pure Class! I'm not going to try to explain the notes/ ingredients of this beauty as I would leave that up to others, but just to say that it is sophisticated.. It is classy.. It has been created by an absolute genius.. A Master Parfum Craftsman! I love it! And I am going to wear it whenever I want!
It’s always been about the dry down with the Dior Homme line. Fragrance community overhyped the IRIS opening as the best part but it’s not. The dry down is what is getting this fragrance off the shelves and into everyone’s collection. The iris is not bad but definitely not the best part of the fragrance!
DHI to me is the greatest perfume of all time. Not much to say other than it's a masterpiece in a bottle, and it is truly a work of art. I will buy this perfume as long as it's produced. Just pure class.
This is one of my favorites. I love powdery & vanilla is my favorite note. Camaro homme intense smells exactly like it. I did a side by side comparison on skin with the original a couple days ago. Camaro homme intense is the 2007 DHI version. It's definitely a cool weather scent.
I was planning on getting camaro homme intense as my budget doesnt allow me too go for DHI , is it similar ? will i get the same vibe as DHI ? @carlostomas1917
I love DHI! DHI is in my top five favorite designer fragrances ever and is on the cusp of being in my top 10 favorite fragrances ever. DHP IS my favorite designer fragrance ever and in my top five favorite fragrances ever.
Not personally my favorite scent. Same with Dior homme parfum IMO. Never really had the nuclear performance on both DHI and DHP. I get max 4-5 hours out of them and projection is an hour and then a skin scent the rest of the time. I can’t tell if my nose is broken or I get super nose blind to this stuff. Your assessment is pretty spot on with my own experience of the fragrance. Another great and honest review. Love the channel!

It reminds me of my childhood, when I used to draw with crayons. I also feel very happy while using it! I don’t know why yet, but there’s something on it that makes me feel confident, sexy, mysterious, empowered and ready to “save the world”! It also embraces myself, making me feel comfortable and safe, ready to put on my pyjamas and drink a delicious hot chocolate! Just bought 9 bottles and this was one of them, also got bleu de Chanel, the one, Layton, jazz club, savauge elixir, by the fireplace, and La Nuit De L'Homme. So far my favorite has always been terra by hermes, it’s so unique I just love it.

@@TrustNoOne88as Gerard said, 5 hours longevity is better for me. DHI last in me 5-7 hours (5 sprays). DHP lasts the same but DHP is bolder (4 sprays) I think the mancera could be an overkill for me. If I go out, or a formal setting:5-6 hours us enough. I am checking the Mancera’s reviews on Fragrantica. It’s potent.

Recently i saw a good deal for Dior Homme Parfum and because it is claimed to be a masterpiece, i bought it. I like it a lot and seeing as i am more into darker stuff i guess this is more my thing then the Intense one.
Not to tell you anything you don't already know, but they ain't that different, bud. Own them both. Intense is simply a bit sweeter with a pear note, parfum has more leather. Legit, only difference. Pissed I even bought the parfum. It is nice, but I paid too much to own almost 2 identical scents..

I’m a big fan of DH Intense and the Parfum. I have decants of both and clones of both of them. I find it easier to wear the Parfum though. The intense I would probably save for something formal / wearing a tie,etc. I have a few from the Gentleman line and I agree that they are more versatile but I think the 2 Diors are better Iris fragrances.
It was October 2010 and I was waiting for the train in the Víctor Hugo station in Paris, and thus black gentleman walk passed me and sat 4 or 5 feet next to me. I could smell the iris and the Virginian cedar and the smoke and the vetiver and the sweet musk and some pear 🍐. He was a big fellow, around 220 pounds. I had to ask him what was the fragrance he was wearing. So I asked him and with a proud smile he said: Dior . On my way back home I spotted a Dior store in the Duty Free at the airports. And I bought a 50 ml bottle of DHI. I only have 20 ml left. And I never wear it however. It’s one of my most precious ones. So moral of the story is that I have one of the very first bottles of the original formula (2011). I think I will purchase a current bottle and enjoy that without paying much attention to the substantial changes in the formulation.

I don't own Homme Intense but have purchased a few samples and love it. I do own Alexandris's Velvet Iris, their inspiration of DHI, which I think is very good and similar. It is, however, longer lasting (as most Alexandria fragrances are). I was able to get 50 ml. of Velvet Iris for $40, which is a great price. When I'm done with the bottle, I'll probably get the Dior but until then, I'm happy.
Gerard. Try to find Dark Door Intense by Maison Alhambra. It’s close to DHI. The opening has vanilla, but powdery. It’s close. DHI has more facets, and that’s why the price/quality but if someone likes the DNA of DHI, and don’t want to break the bank, Dark Door Intense is an alternative.
the new formular for dior intense is allot weaker and doesnt project as much. It broke my heart what they did to this, i used to wear 5 sprays and after 24 hours i could smell it across the room on my top. now its gone in a hour. Also they increased the iris and reduced the violet. it used to be much sweeter and less powdery. i wish they wouldnt change their formulars so much. Now i just wear valentino, but that doesnt last either.
Today I went to the mall and smelled it. The man started telling so much things I thought he was lying, but It was true. It can be applied for day and night and more on that I loved the smelled I just cant stop smelling my self 😂😂

Every year IFRA changes their guidelines as to what aroma chemicals/naturals can be used in fragrance, makeup, body lotion etc. It forces brands to find alternatives thus effecting the final product.

Its not dated and won't be in the near future. It's a very sophisticated scent and the masses cannot appreciate it. But it isn't a mass pleaser. An elegant nose will appreciate it

100%! I'm not a big fan of the Iris in the opening I find it a bit too much, but over time the fragrance gets better and better until the dry down.
My favorite fragrance, complex, very "grownmanish", I feel confident when I wear it.. Top notch iris scent, with that powdery smoked vanilla.

On a side note, Valentino Uomo Intense smells similar but I personally feel that it’s more masculine than DHI
If you are masculine you can wear whatever you want, even roses.

Dhp is good too. If you like that try out Mancera Black pristigium. It’s like a niche beast mode version.

I layer Dior Homme 2011 with Miss Dior EDT, just to give it more refreshing floral to cover the powdery smell.
