Fun fact! The CRWBY has been very particular since V1E1 in making sure that shadows aren’t cast on characters’ eyes and the outlines of their eyebrows are visible through their hair. It’s for the same reason as in anime: it helps people tell what animated characters are feeling. When Ruby finally snaps, they break this rule and have her hair both hide her eyebrows and cast shadows over her eyes.
2:27 I do think they could have taken a moment to talk to Ruby but their not entirely oblivious to it, you can only ask someone if they are ok so many times before you are pushed away and every time they tried to ask her something happened that pulled their attention away or Ruby herself didn't want to talk about it and things are framed in a way for the audience that the characters don't see

There was always something else going on and Ruby was left on the backburner because they only saw their leader who always bounces back, they got used to that and now when Ruby needed them to notice they were too late. I think part of the reason Atlas hit Ruby so hard was because it was all on her, she made the choices ever since Blake said V7 that they'd follow her lead. At Beacon and Haven it wasn't her plan, her responsibility, her fault when things went wrong. But in Atlas she called the shots, and people died and Salem won. And the worst part is what Jaune said to her confirmed what she was already thinking. And that it was Jaune, her first friend at Beacon, her fellow leader, to say it made it even worse. She needs help and everyone is too busy with their own stuff to pay it any mind. Even in combat they just forgot about her completely - only one to see what was going on was Jaune and he drew the wrong conclusions due to his own issues. "Why do I have to be the leader" - this goes back to Vol 1 and the burdens of leadership Ozpin talked about. It also goes back to Vol 2 when Ruby said "Its not just about you anymore" to Jaune. And the biggest pain. Ruby commits suicide looking her friends directly in the eyes. Anyways these two episodes are really good in many ways but yet again the pacing is too sped up to properly land the punches which is unfortunate and a big issue with the whole volume. Looking forward to the finale next week ;) (Then we can all pray Vol 10 gets greenlit)

@@Rykage_ while i'm not in full disagreement Yang has always been there for the longest time she basically raised ruby since they was kids Yang never got to focus on herself and sadly when she did try to focus on herself once Ruby wasn't in the best state of mind so they painted yang as a "bad sister" when that's not entirely the case.
on a side note tho i do love how human the chars feel like they feel like real people that's one of many things the show does so well xD as i said in the past it's not all black and white which i feel shows don't really do much anymore in my own opinion
soo we just saw someone get emontinally destroyed by her past failiures so to say beaten the shit out of saw her kill one of her friends ik it wasnt real but she now has that image permanetley in her memory of killing oscar and then just was talked into basically comitting suicide

Little is somehow linked with Ruby, I think, so they have an advantage over her teammates, who have their own trauma too. Also Ruby thinks since she is the leader she can't be vulnerable, and can't ask for help (wonder who planted it in her head, Ozpin?). I don't think the face change was Neo, it was Ruby's own PTSD acting up.
On insta a lot were saying how they love yang and her relationship finally confirmed but the way she was oblivious too Ruby's mental issues and defending Blake was like a real set off and alot even got angry with yang more than Ruby lashing out....stupid older sister defending her new relation rather keep neutral and help both
the thing about Ruby that i disliked was her thoughts were similar to Jaune during Volume 1 before the Cardin fight. about being the "perfect Hero" in the story..
That's cause it was. The runtime was only like 15 minutes compared to the 17-20 minutes of the other episodes. So we definitely missed out on a few minutes.

Yang, several times, has been trying to comfort ruby throughout this volume. Ruby is to blame for some of this as well. Other people can't just intuit what's wrong with those in pain all the time, and if someone isn't willing to talk about what's wrong with them, then there's not a ton people can do. Also, name ONE time, in the entire series, that Ruby has been there to comfort her own sister. Yang has, since the first episode, said how proud and happy for Ruby she is, to Ruby's face.
I mean one that quickly comes to mind is at the end of Volume 3 after everything that happened when Ruby woke up after talking to Qrow immediately went to Yang's room and ran over to give her a hug to make sure she was okay. It wasn't until Yang told her to go and said that she's not okay that Ruby even left, she even said I love you to her as she left. But that's just from the top of my head. And yeah I agree that Ruby's to blame for some of it as well, no one can really help if you don't ask for it or tell someone but even so
I think Little represented that last spark of hope in Ruby and once Neo literally stomped it out Ruby was done. 😢
