I don't usually comment but I did want to say thank you for your vocal support of Palestinians, and also for your non fiction recs in previous videos-it helped me get into he genre ! also, where is your top from? your look with the makeup is slayinggg
Just so you know I made a comment about how there's literally 0 poc across Alexandria Bellefleur's 3-4 "diverse sapphic" books. And she replied she doesn't want to "appropriate" the space for poc. And then blocked me.
I tried reading Written in the Stars by Alexandria Bellefleur and I only made it through like 20 pages before I quit, I definitely agree with you about her writing
i remember rolling my eyes a lot while reading the fiance farce, but still having fun with it. it was bad but enjoyable to me. i read all her little secrets in spring 2022 so i really don’t remember much of it at all, but i do remember feeling let down by it. it’s really hard to find thrillers with characters that feel real
I do hear you about T. Kingfisher. Recently I read her What Moves the Dead which is my third book by her, and it was here I isolated what I found missing from her books was something about the writing, and it was making the books fall flat for me. I think the tone and the lack of atmosphere in general also contributes. I want to give more chance and I read something that isn't a horror by her. I am thinking either the Raven and the Reindeer or a short story collection. If it doesn't work out then I think it is safe to assume that she is simply not for me.
I'm going to have to check out The Appointment because what you've described sounds at the very least conceptually interesting, and even if it fails to do anything with that concept I'm excited to see just how it fails.
Free Palestine forever ❤ And T Kingfisher is so up and down for me! I've DNFed her books or given 1 star, and then next one I read I give 5 stars and read more than once! It's wild.
I found your channel recently (from your best of 2023 videos ) and im really glad I did. youre so beautiful, so funny, and we have such a similar reading taste. I cant wait for more of your content. Thank you ❤️
my least favourite book last year was a 2.5 star read. it was the never tilting world by rin chupeco. it was just very mid and i lost interest after a bit. and i think it was too YA fantasy for me, despite the fact that i sometimes really like YA fantasy
ok just discovered your channel today (via YT recommending me your 'the problem with lesbian romance' video which was PERFECT) and so now ive just been binging a ton of your videos and i am officially a superfan. your personality is wonderful and you're so intelligent and have impeccable taste...ah. so glad i found you, keep uploading! will listen to your pod before bed tonight x
Hey Sunny! I was wondering if I might be a bit cheeky and make a request. I have written a fantasy book called Descent thats entirely non-binary: written without gendered pronouns, gendered characters or, where possible, words with a gendered root. I would love to send you a free copy if you would like? Hopefully it wouldn't make your 2024 2 star list 😅

Thank you so much! My friend gave it to me years ago, she got it from urban outfitters like over 5 years ago I think

EW 🤮 that's nasty. Wish I knew what she considered "diverse".

Thanks for the second opinion affirmation of her writing hahaha

That’s real!! Sometimes a book is too much of its own genre I get it
“I’m a feminist, i’m a marxist” and I see videos calling attention to Palestine in your recents. Immediate subscribe
You look gorgeous

This is the sweetest message!! Thank you so much 😊 I appreciate you!
Primitives by Erich Krauss was my worst read of 2023. Gave me the ICK in all the ways!
Oof!

Honestly, this was refreshing to listen to.
