- This is how I fixed angle valve on my Boss plow. The blade would swing left everytime I wanted it to go right. Same thing if I wanted it to go up, it would swing all the way to the left, then it went up. So this video will show you how to trouble shoot this problem and fix it.
Great help. Cheers.
Over 30 yrs plowing myself. Always nice to not send equipment in for service.
Thanks for sharing. Haven't had any valve problems with my boss V plow so far, but did burn up a pump motor in April. Also had the power/ground cables weld themselves together. Parts are definitely not cheap.
Great video. If I don’t got a power probe do I just hook one wire to a negative battery terminal and the other wire to the battery positive and then just touch the separate wires to the separate metal prongs on the coils??
thanks just happened as I was moving the truck around tonight to do other work same problem thanks for sharing
Thank you for making this video I'm going to check mine in the morn cause its driving me nuts
Thank you for making this video , it sure answered all my questions
I have a boss v plow when I make the left side into the scoop position and try try to move it back into v position it won't go it stays in scoop position. any thoughts of what it could be? I even topped off the fluid on it
@BlkJ19
That thing would only work once in ahile. A little research led me to that valve. I agee with your comment ,thanx .
I have a Meyer and it would go right, and then you hit the left switch itd go left and get stuck left, Replaced the solenoid on the valve on the pump and it was all corroded underneath, that fixed my problem. I love how fast the Boss is compared to my Meyer
My buddy has a Boss V-plow. The motor went to shit at the end of last season and he had it replaced over the summer. Now you can hear the motor running fine but nothing happens. The plow wont move up or down. The wings wont move in either direction. We pulled a line and tried every control and no fluid pumped out. The reservoir is full and nothing happens. Do you have any idea what the problem could be? Could it be a stuck valve type of issue?
I have the same plow but my plow wont go up!!!! It does everything else but wont go up any idea what it could be?
Thank you ! My Fisher MM2 was doing the same thing !
how do I make my western unimount plow to go up with only the wires and no controller 3 valve what wiers do you cross
Is there any video on how to make plow mounts for the truck and the plow
A Mig my plow got torch off another truck so I cant even use it
How much should one be charging for a drive way 70 feet long by 17 feet wide
I have a 24 series Sno Way plow that will not turn right. I switched the green and red wires from the solenoids and it turned right but not left. I put wires back to the correct places. I flipped solenoids and got the original problem - no right turn. Some times when right toggle is activated plow raises and turns right after getting to the top. Any ideas?
@A Mig I have the same issue with my Meyer plow. Worked fine since I have had it on my truck, then one day I pushed it to go right, since then (Aug), plow will not go left. Looks like I will have to look into the valve.
Great video thank you for sharing. Great info.
thanks. wheres the video how to get valve out? help!
how do i adjust my 3 way valve on my western plow?
so was it the coils or the valve that was wrong?
meyers e47 plow not turning
I have a boss straight plow and it will not do anything but click on the solenoid under the hood .put a new one on and and it still just clicks on the solenoid,i checked the fuses and wiring ,all good ,can someone help
Double check your connections at the truck or the plow plugs into
same problem on my meyers. just gotta get a new one now!
thanks. next time could you show the valve removal.
Very nice video!
Thanks for the insight.
Get a tripod.
Can't see a thing with the camera waving all over the place.
Good man, how did you become educated on the matter? I tell people all the time know your equipment and know what you have. Don’t sell yourself short by trying to make your services affordable. Everyone is not going to be able to buy what you are selling. Help folks out but understand you can’t save someone $220 if (it’s a bad storm) and you’re not covering your cost. On any given rig you'll see it’s a good chance their whole set up is at least $8K for a fair truck and new plow.
Hey thank you so much.
just dropped off my BOSS vplow dxt to the dealer for repair. No hydraulic pressure and cant raise or lower it. Had to run to depot and buy some chain and jack it up just to make to the dealer. Plow is less than 3 months old, and only plowed 5 storms. Today my Boss plow cost me 2500 in lost revenue and a few accounts. Would not recommend. Fisher seems to have better dealers and customer service. My local Boss dealer doesn't even want to take a look at it. I won't buy any more boss equipment and will be buying a fisher spreader instead.
thanks!!!

DO NOT EVEN compare those boss (read JUNK) pieces of sCrap to a Western or even a Meyer or Fischer-no Mr. Wizzard-ALL plows don't use that crap setup. I have plowed snow for 35 years and only use Western plows. Ever wonder why boss changes their design every year? I bet you drive a chevy too!! LOLOUDEST!!!
Relax
Plowing over 35 years myself. Commercial/industrial plowing. Cant knock BOSS ive worked boss 9'2" VBlades for 20 years. Never let me down.
I can almost bet you plow with a strait blade and do DRIVEWAYS for $10.00. Haha.
A wanna be with blue beacon on plowing drives thinking your some real pro contractor. What a idiot !!
I see this post is older but I was surprised. I too have plowed snow for years and prior to my Boss I had a Fisher. I seemed to have more issues with that and it was harder to work on (granted it was older). Before purchasing this last one I had done some research and talked to several friend who plow commercially. Many of them run Boss and were happy with them.
@@jonsatkowiak1542 ive run BOSS on my trucks for years. Went from artic. 8ft strait blades. Yrs b4 were 7.5 strait blades.
Ive never ever had issues with my boss 9.2 vxts . Save so much time with them. They pile amazingly high and full push like nothing with a f350 super duty behind them.
The poster was not a pro plow guy im sure and he likely bought used junk to begin with.
Boss has built my business seeing i dont have plows down during big snow events and customers are never let down !
Glad to hear you have never had issues.
Only issue for myself is the local Boss service/dealer i did business with for 30 yrs closed. I now have to go elsewhere. About a hour away and if i need something serviced they say its 2 weeks to get it in.
My 30 yr service guy would drop everything and get me in asap ! And back out to work.
I guess what makes a company is SERVICE and with out that it doesnt matter what brand of plow a guy is running. Theres allways some minor thing you need service for even tho you do your own service yourself.
Cant do everything yourself.
Cheers.
A long 2018-19 season to its end here in ontario canada.
Have a good summer mate
F350 super duty. 7.3.
F350 6.7
Now you can start drooling !!!!!
Keep your half ton dodge gasser. Lmao
