Initially, my thoughts were like many other Jets fans. 'Come on, ANOTHER first time coach from the defensice side of the ball?' But in the last week I've really startes to warm up to the idea that Aaron could be The Guy. His resume is impressive, he knows how to coach and hold his players feet to the fire when they underperform, and he commands respect among the ranks. If he's hired, it will be critical that he hires a qualified OC and preferably one with a track record of success.
I would prefer aaron glenn and chris spielman or dimitri off and the flores. I just want two dudes that have the same synergy, the same energy, and the same mindset

When you are the HC you are the coach of the entire team, not just one part of it. Jets should hire GM and let the GM hire the HC. Sounds like Jets want to hire HC then pair the HC with whoever wants the GM job.

You do realize that the vast, vast majority of “proven coaches” this cycle are literally has beens? Vrabel was the only exception. McCarthy, the second best “proven coach” pick, hasn’t accomplished anything meaningful in a decade and has essentially tanked what should be a top #5 offense in Dallas. Arthur Smith? God no. Brian Flores? There’s an argument to be made there, I would say, but still far from a perfect no-brainer pick. Glenn has shown he wants to coach for this team (which NOBODY ELSE has done), he has had the defense in Detroit playing its ass off despite being decimated by injuries, he has former scouting experience (w/ the Jets) and he has a no BS approach which this team DESPERATELY needs after four years of Saleh letting this team fly off the handle. No hire goes without risk, but I think Glenn is an excellent choice. Give me Glenn as HC, McCown as OC, and either Borgonzi or Spielman as GM, and I think we’ll be in a good spot moving forward.

As a scout, Aaron Glenn drafted Dee Millener over Xavier Rhodes, Desmond Trufant, Eric Reid, and Darius Slay in 2013. He did draft Sheldon Richardson. In the 2014 Draft he took Calvin Pryor over Ha-Ha Clinton-Dix and Jason Verrett at Safety. I’m sorry, for a former DB, he clearly doesn’t know how to draft for the secondary. I don’t know if I trust his scouting ability on DBs. He screams Rex Ryan 2.0.
