Ed, you really think Jones would have won 4 more games before he was released?! He was 2-8! That's nuts, dude.

Serby (a journalist) keeps saying "convicted" and I can't find any alternate definition:
    adjective: convicted
having been declared guilty of a criminal offense by the verdict of a jury or the decision of a judge.

Thanks Ed for this awesome interview, and all the great content this year! As you and Steve were talking about how Nabers was a dawg, all I could think of was Daboll on Hard Knocks telling Schoen how much he loved Nabers on tape. Hope Daboll watches tape this off season and find us a dawg QB!

Did anyone ask Mara : who made the decision to keep Dabs? Was it a Schoen recommendation to Mara or was it a Mara decision to keep package together ?

Imho, there were 3 factors that made Mara keep Dabes and Shoen-
    1. Winning the Colts game. It showed the owner that the players had not given up on the coach. If they lose that game, they're both gone.
    2. Decent draft this year by Shoen
    3. None of the options for Mara/ Tisch thrilled them enough to pull the trigger. Perhaps, if Belichik or Vrabel were available, then things would have been different. Mara knows if he makes a change, it can't be a "hot" prospect, it has to be a sure thing like TC.
All that being said, I don't think they will survive past next season unless the qb they draft, hits the ground running like Stroud, which with this roster, I just can't see. Especially with the schedule the Giants will have next year.

The Giants will stay a bad to mediocre team no matter who the GM or HC are. Its indisputable, historically proven over the last decade. We all know there is however... a common denominator during that time, and will continue into the future (unfortunately).

Exactly! And his name is John Mara. He’s been the one constant problem

The Vikings aren't going to be trading McCarthy. Darnold did. not look the same at the Lions game. Yhey'll probably keep both and transition McCatrthy into the starting role

I didn't say Jones would have won 4 more games. I said with better quarterback play than Jones gave them they would have won 4 more games. Listening comprehension, people.

Jones was never an “ascending QB” - whatever success they had in 2022 was due to easy schedule & scheming around Daniel’s weaknesses. Extending him rather than tagging him was a disaster. All the escape hatch meant was allowing Jones to destroy 2 seasons rather than 4.
