Monotonous scenery…. Ride across Nebraska and Kansas to give urself a gauge. Every time after that, no matter how monotonous the scenery seems I always remind myself….at least it’s not Nebraska and Kansas.😃 Everything is relative. Love ur content!
I am planning a trip to Alaska next year, I am riding a 2018 Kawasaki Vulcan Voyager 1700 ABS. I love this bike for 2 reasons. It's affordable and reliable. I also really like your videos. After all, I am 72 years old myself!
Enjoying your videos, I traveled to Alaska in 2010 on my Goldwing and travelled some of the same roads, and it brings back good memories. Thanks for sharing.
10:30 with all due respect the costs are because your in a very remote area. It costs a lot to get supplies up there. This is normal and common in northern remote areas of Canada. 🤷🏻♂️ it’s the cost of doing business in the great white north remote areas - gotta pay for the view
One of the things I did in northern B.C. and Yukon is i planned my gas stops on Google and then I phoned each gas station to make sure they would be open. It's a bit extra work but the Army taught me. Time in recce is seldom waisted
Sorry I am late to the party. We are having a bit of a struggle getting back to 'normal.' Craig, as usual I am loving the video. Must have affected your psyche, all those cloudy, rainy, gloomy days ... Ugh! Keep on keepin' on! Ned in SC
@@LivingOffTheSlab Thank you. Where I live in Mauldin, we ONLY had 9" of rain. Asheville and surrounding areas had 30". The charming village of Chimney Rock, NC, was pretty much washed away. Ned
Nice footage and well edited as usual. Those meal and lodging prices you're paying blow my mind. About twice what mine run. I should share this one with my wife for brownie points.
Great episode. Seeing the Royal Enfield Himalayan actually made me think I could ride mine everywhere. It's not a good highway bike above 65mph , which I could put a 16 tooth front gear to lower the rpm . I did get on a low seat Triumph 1200 and with it fully loaded , I could easily ride it at 5'9". Amazing views and boat ride looked fun. I grew up in Springfield Ma. I will have to search your channel to see if any New England adventures. I loved riding my sport bike to the Cape . Thanks for sharing your adventures
I know this video posted late last night, here on the East coast but I'm watching on Sunday morning while eating my breakfast and, lo and behold, I'm having breakfast with Craig right at the start. A satisfying meal and hot cup of coffee goes a long way after the cold and wet. Great segment of your trip, albeit just a tad moist. The Prince Rupert rest day seemed great and that scenery around Bell 2 was very nice even with the weather. Best wishes to the kid on the new Himalayan. I hope he let's you know what he decided to do with his trip and what he thought of the RE.
Another fabulous video. I am enjoying your trip and can’t wait to see all your travels. One thing about the costs of food and gas in B.C. - British COlumbia. To the rest of us in Canada B.C. Stands for bring cash - yep, it is know to be expensive. Stay safe and thanks for sharing
Thank you for sharing your trip. A few years ago I went to Alaska via Canada and did not have time to go to Prince Rupert. You have inspired me to take another trip to see the parts i missed. You are so right about the gas stops. I found that there were several gas stations that were closed. I never ran completely out but came close. Get gas when you can. Good advise!
I took an Alaska cruise several years ago. One of the stops was Prince Rupert. We had really nice weather I guess I was lucky too. Now you have me thinking about a motorcycle trip there. :)
Craig, you're such an inspiration, i just turned 60, but not ready yet for retirement though, a bit different here in Mexico to retire early. I own a motorcycle since 5 years ago, me an my wife have travel more in these 5 years than before. We have enjoyed so much your videos that we started to plan that trip to Alaska, which month was when you reached Prince Rupert?
I rode to Sacramento from SLC yesterday (about 700 miles). I ate nuts and protein drinks along the way that I brought from home. But once I got here I found a “Mahi Wasabi burger”. Hit the spot!
Lots of parallels... We took the ferry up the Inside Passage to Prince Rupert. Also stayed at the Inn on the Harbor. Felt similar frustration at the Kitwanga gasoline station (which we compounded by eating at the restaurant). Stayed at the Bell II Lodge with plans to continue north. Those plans were thwarted by thunderstorms, so we headed back south. I particularly regret it now, having seen your footage. Another parallel, I'm also 5'9", and a few years older than you (69). After BC trip I decided it was time for something lighter and less tall than my 2017 R1200GS. Thinking about a Triumph Tiger 850. But I have to sell the GS first. It's been on the market since August and surprisingly, no takers.
Yes I know what you mean, I stopped at Prince Rupert on our southerly ride. We chose the old Fish Cannery for our attraction. Susquatch is getting a little grey.
A couple of my wife’s distant relatives married a couple of those soldiers working on the Alaska Hwy. The offspring to my knowledge, still live in Texas I believe and I’ve been told the “cousins” of said family remain in touch with their Alberta counterparts.
hey pal, where do you buys your glasses, they are awesome. doy you have the link? I'm new to your channel and I definitely like your content. It inspires me too much to be able to fulfill my dream... it's never too late to achieve it
burgers and fish and chips every day, I can't believe you don't weight 300 pounds! lol, nothing like enjoying your calories on the road! am loving the route you took and may follow that next time!
So i am planning on taking some long distant rides myself this spring. I was wondering which app/ program you use to plan out your ride ? This is all new to me. Great video's by the way !

Bummer about Kathy’s Place. We ate breakfast there also in 2019 on one of our passes through Watson Lake. We stayed and ate also at Andreas, but they weren’t open for breakfast as early as we got up so we walked to Kathy’s.
Thanks Craig for the reply, just checking out the website for your boat trip, looked amazing something we’d like to do. We’re in the UK. Safe riding to you.
I am a guy, so when you said 7 sisters park, and 7 peaks, I am guessing they are two by two as they looked like female breasts. I am a mature man that sees beauty. Those peaks are well worth the memory of this journey. Anyways, this is one heck of a journey and we'll documented. Learning from you 😊
I find it always funny when visitors from USA complain about the price of things in Canada. It s the samething as in USA. You have to do the maths on conversion. A 30 $ burgers is not cheap as McD but it s not so bad because at end it meens you ve paid ...22 $ not enough to complain about from my own point of view.
Must be a regional thing. Here in western WA most Harley riders are rarely seen on the road, but most commonly in clusters at taverns on fair weather days only.
@Robnord1 they stand around with perrier water looking for someone to talk bikes with. It's really sad to watch. They spend their weekends riding to some useless lakeside Cafe to pose around for a few hours
What a great video. Thank you for taking us along. I hope you always stay safe.
Sweet man,, greetings from Iraqi biker.

I think you have more important things to deal with. Looks like a mess down there. Our hearts and go out to you and everyone effected by the storm.

Here in Canada, EVERYTHING is hopelessly expensive now.
@afoolandhismoneychannel Even worse in Alaska where people are being forced out to the lower 48 for economic viability

I didn't see one motorcycle, I saw lots of carbs,
More carbs in a day than I consume in a month or two.
Hi, enjoying your trips, could you tell me what cordless tyre inflator your using please and if you think it’s any good,
Cheers Rich.
Go to the gear page on my website. There is a link to Fanttick. The pump has been great!
Thanks Craig for the reply, just checking out the website for your boat trip, looked amazing something we’d like to do. We’re in the UK. Safe riding to you.
Do you really like your pump? What type is it?
It is a Fanttik and yes I do like it very much. There is a link on my gear page, just click the Fanttik banner.
www.livingofftheslab.com/gear
How many gallons of gas does your motorcycle take, I thought that pump showed 23gallon+.
8. The pump is in liters.
I don’t know how you find space for a bike cover. I never have space for mine. It’s just too big.
Extra bag on the rear saddle.
❤❤❤🎉
