The Dallas Cowboys are a marketing company that just happens to play football on the side.
That’s an interesting and excellent way to state it 😂
Every NFL team is a marketing company. The reason you think the Cowboys are somehow the only one just shows how much better Jerry Jones is at what he does. They've also put together a team that's gone 12-5 three straight yrs so they "just happen to play football" ok as well. They choke every yr but don't hate Jerry for doing his job better than everyone else. Dak and Romo are chokers but Jerry set them up to win.
Gee what an original statement.. Not lmao!
Unfortunately. The way they responded and the bullshit drama is evidence of that
As a life long Cowboys fan i agree
He isn't "all in." That's all talk. They are comfortable. Make a little money, have a little fun, call it a season.
This isn't a serious organization under Jerry the Clown. They don't care about championships.
Thank you
Cowboys won 3/5 of their SBs with Jones as the owner. That just sounds silly.
@@KONEIL1775 what has he done for us in the past 30 years brother. He literally fired the coach that got us two of those back to back
@@KONEIL1775 The early years were a team built by Jimmy Johnson, the same team that won in 1996. Nothing since then, since Jerry ran Jimmy out and took over football operations.
As a 40+ year fan of the Cowboys, I’ve accepted that Jerry Jones is a great salesman who knows how to play/manipulate the fans and media.
As long as they continue to sell out AT&T stadium, nothing will change.
Well said
Seriously. I’m a 45+ year fan and when I listen to Jerry talk I know it’s just marketing BS. It will be the same embarrassment next season.
He said the same crap last season, and was a no show in FA, and the draft. Jerry needs to stay away from Michigan and bosie guys. We had nothing but bad luck with these schools. Jerry needs to add a big NT and address the offensive line. Let Tyler go and sign a big boy that can blast dlineman and LB’s, and bring back Collins to help the line.
@@chrisburns143 Boise State hasn’t been bad for the Cowboys. Even LVE has given them some good years. Tank has been great. Cedric Wilson was good. Tyrone Crawford. Orlando Scandrick. Michigan on the other hand 😂 outside of Lewis it hasn’t been good.
@@dogger37JC tank great ??? Averaging 5-7 sacks a season isn’t great to me. Dude hasn’t had double sight sacks since he got paid. Even with MP on the opposite side he couldn’t get 10 sacks
With all due respect please do not compare Dak to Mahomes.
Dak is just Kirk Cousins's brother from another mother. The only thing those two excel at is extracting more money than they actually deserve from teams that are dumb enough to settle for somewhat-better-than-average.
Seriously, I'm a Cowboys fan, and Rich is talking about Dak as if he's at that level. WTF!
Idk how you can? lol not even in the same stratosphere
But can be like Mahomet if he had what Mohomes has on defense and offense with running
@@MyPENCILHEADand intangibles, wizardry etc. etc.
I'm a Cowboys fan, and Jerry isn't "all in." if he was, he would've fired McCarthy and threw a ton of money at Jim Harbaugh. Jerry wants to win his way. It can't be a coach that pushes back or win with a player he didn't draft (that's why Cooper got traded and Zeke stayed with that horrific contract). Jerry is the new Al Davis, and Dak isn't taking us far either. Just bottom out and try for a top QB for once.
You don't even realize why they gave in to Dak .. You don't get football and should stop watching.. Fake Fan shocker .. 😂
So Jerry hasn’t been “all in” for the last 29 years?
It’s all marketing. They are a deeply unserious team if they don’t get Belichick which they won’t. But Jerry just wants eyes on the team, and for everyone to talk about them.
Honestly no and while I should know better jerry actually never talks “all in” when it comes to the short term because it’s never been his style but after this season and the fans sentiment he essentially has to do it. “ all in” essentially means put your team in long term financial strain for a short term gamble.
@@treysonmcgrady4750Belichick is terrible. He only won FOUR games. He got FIRED for a reason. Stick with McCarthy and trade Dak!
@@treysonmcgrady4750I am not a cowboys fan but there's some deeply moronic stuff going on in the comments here. BB is old and inflexible and can't do anything with his offenses for years now. His drafts have been garbage going back further than that. He doesn't play well with others and hasn't won anything when Tom Brady wasn't under center. This whole "the goat is out there! Go get him or you're not serious" stuff is laughable.
I respect Rich, and don’t get me wrong I like Henry. This team needs an improved OL and a better run scheme before Henry.
I get what you’re saying but I think you need a legit offensive coordinator. I know people will talk about all the stats but I would push back saying that you got at least 4 easy games vs giants and commies. Stat padding on bad teams and getting smoked by good teams is the reality because the offensive scheme is too basic against good teams. Btw. The cowboys got knocked out by the wildcard packers, not the 49ers. So stop the nonsense.
@@mmcintosh78The wildcard Packers outplayed the Niners and should have won that game.
Dan Marino was elite, if you want to win he needs a rookie contract.
Main issues to address, power back, defense that can stop the run, and play calling that is not predictable.
As a Cowboys fan since they became a football team, I love this take from Rich.
Lets go back to the 70's and POUND THE BALL...
So, you're in your 70s?
@@TheOsfania 68
@@TheOsfania 67.. Cowboys fan since 1966... bad outcome Ice Bowl to become a fan but my best memories are of the 70's. Staubach, Duane Thomas, Calvin Hill...pound the ball with some good passing from Staubach. So many close games... other wise a Cowboys decade instead of Steelers.
Really? It’s pretty dumb. I love Rich but he obviously doesn’t have a clue how good teams build a roster.
This is sooo damn funny! Jerry has been "all in, all the time" since 1996. What makes this any different from all his other "all ins" for the past 3 decades? I'll tell ya...NOTH'N!
Fantastic take on going “all in” Rich! Adding Henry and DeAndre would make a HUGE statement to the fans and more importantly the players.
They need to create a feeling sort of like Michael Jordan’s Bulls when they went all in and called it, “The Last Dance”.
It will be interesting to see if Jerry has something like that in mind.
My money is on him not delivering as well as Rich would!
I would not give Daks more years. Suffer through the cap hit and make him prove his worth or let him walk.
Player’s with a year left on his contract should have to play through the contract first. Dak being 59 million crazy.
Not sure they can field a viable team with the cap hit. Agree with the sentiment, though.
If they suffer through it he walks either way. There is only one way to actually take another stab at this season and it’s reducing Dak’s cap hit to sign other players. Not doing so just makes this year a wash, you gonna run it back with last year’s team? No one wants that
@@travisgainey7062yeah run it back with even less. Draft Michael penix draft o linemen and audric estime. Trade whoever for more draft capital. Dak defenders been saying all year that dak is the only reason they are successful so trade whoever while preparing for after dak and let dak olay with scrubs apparently he will still drag them to the playoffs since he’s so good.
Just run it back with Trey this time. See what he's got. Probably nothing, but if he sucks, go get a QB next year in the draft.
If Dak can't handle the pressure, you need a new QB.
It’s not the pressure it’s the reality Dallas doesn’t have a running back that can take pressure off the passing game
Spot on! Rich.
So Rich is saying that Dak need even more weapons and an even better defense because he can’t do it. And is asking to pick up a old Henry, Dak had a young Zeke he could not do it.
Dak was also as young as Zeke. They were drafted together
Don't pay Dak!!!! Draft a future qb.
Same in Miami, Please.
@@bourbontrail565 It's too early. Tua has had a decent coach for two years. Everything before that is irrelevant. That's not to say that you won't turn out to be correct, but this season was better than the last.
You sound like Skip Bayless let's just go with the unknown in roll the dice huh? As much as alot of you want a new Qb it could get alot worse then Dak
Agreed...Cowboys won't win a Super Bowl with him as QB
@@robertclark3789 rolling the dice is what's needed at this point. They've tried everything BUT that. You know what your are. Take a damn risk for once FFS!!!
Elite Elite have you lost your mind rich damn near fell over when you said that Elite smh
Rich has great arguments and takes on the regular. But come on, Dak is elite now?
Not at all! Rich is smoking some serious shite.
I love Rich but this is dumb.
Sure add DH but you better add another OLineman oe 2 to help run
Won’t matter with McFatty calling the plays
As long as we get to laugh in January again and again and again… I don’t care! 😂
Dallas needs to move on from Dak
@001Khy yeah they do.
Who are they gonna get? Jerry doesn't want to rebuild.
Kirk Cousins @@melroze
Please go all in!!!
The Cowboys haven't had a big time QB since Aikman or a legendary one since Stalbach. The only way things turn around for them is if Lance gets on the field and clicks. You can't afford to pay Parsons and Dak. If Dak was cheap, he'd have surplus value. However, he's expensive, making him a slight drag.
Agree on DH, 100%!
It’s that rough time of year where all the talk shows are desperate for content. I feel for y’all.
The amount of “hot takes” we are about to see is gonna be crazy
Good stuff right here
Bro, Derrick Henry should be en route to Dallas as I write this. Like what are we doing?
He’s 30 years old. we’d be better off getting Saquon Barkley.
@@t.k.1319 Saquan wouldn’t work in Dallas that line is made for Henry. If you keep Pollard you could get those Saquan catching reps with him and go vertical with Henry. Now, it’s Dallas and I can only expect nothing happening as usual
NONSENSE. Derrick is too old. Get rid of Dak and bring in a YOUNG running back.
@@hernangonzalez8624You obviously haven’t watched Derrick Henry closely. Yea he’s a big power back but he needs good blocking and holes as much as anyone. He wouldn’t do well with the Cowboys current run blocking and play calling. This whole idea that a running back is going to transform the Cowboys running game is dumb. It’s poor run blocking and poor play design because McFatty is not creative or innovative. Nothing will change unless he does.
If you look back to 2016 when Dak and Zeke were rookies they won 13 games. The reason - Dak and Zeke were on rookie contracts and there was money to put other players around them. San Fran will learn when Purdy's contract is due. They have 4 very good skill position players around him... that will change and so will he. I agree there is a problem with Dak but I believe it can be resolved with proper coaching but Jerry doesn't want to do anything difficult.
I felt during the Zeke draft, when Cowboys had that awesome offensive line, that they needed bruiser RB.
I wanted them to draft Derrick Henry late, and draft some other position with the early pick.
Look now... Where's Zeke?
So if Rich is saying Dak is an elite QB? That would mean he considers him one of the 5 best in the league right now. I ain't buying that one. Joe Flacco came off the couch & took the Browns nearly as deep into the post season as Dallas. Yeah there're a ton of moving parts on both sides off the ball and million ways to lose, but in the end it's like former Raiders owner Al Davis used to say: "Just win baby".
I agree with Rich. But you are limiting your Quarterback to not be the main guy. You shouldn't pay him 60 million if you want him to be a game manager then.
Management made the 59 million for his last year on this contract. Teams need to stop backloading contracts so it sounds P.C.
Good comment. There is a salary at which keeping Dak may make sense. But that salary is lower than what he is stealing from the organization now.
@@bourbontrail565 No, the Cowboys allowed themselves to be bent over the table by Dak's agent. No trade, no franchising, and a cap figure so high for the final year that they have no choice but to extend. The terms are so one-sided that you have to wonder if Jerry just signed a blank contract and let Dak's agent fill it in.
@@bourbontrail565Nope. Just TRADE him. Someone will overpay for a mediocre QB.
Rich you are absolutely right!!!
Yes. This!
Great assessment Rich Eisen!!
Terrible. Trade Dak! Get a NEW QB in the First Round. Get a new Running Back.
Can't get past the Niners and Packers...
Dak isn’t great. He’s not Elite!
@@DavidC-pg6niMahomes is the only elite QB. Like he stated, all of the teams that make it to the end, have a running game!! Period!! As great as Mahomes is, Pacheco has been so key in their current run as their WR sucks and Mahomes numbers aren’t even 300 yards a game. SF loses to GB without MaCaffrey.. Again, great teams have very good running games…
@@MicrosoftWest Nope. Burrow is Elite. He's just injured. That's why he was able to beat Mahomes.
Stafford is also Elite, it's why he won the Super Bowl. Also dealt with injuries. Don't confuse great team play with elite QB play. Mahomes has NOT been elite this year, as he usually is, except part of the playoffs. He said so himself.
It wasn't just dropped passes. Overthrows and other issues from Pat contributed. The KC Defense has kept them it the games more than the offense this year.
I like Rich but some of his takes are BS...he should stick to "Fixing" the JETS problems. Dallas needs a NEW QB. PERIOD. Done with Dak. He Folds like cheap Origami under pressure / in BIG moments. Not a hater...he's a GREAT guy...but third tier against GOOD Teams. Garbage time and Bad Teams don't make him a great QB...only good.
@@davidc2838 If we use the Burrow logic, that means Jimmy G and Colin K are elite since they took their team to the SB. Also Nick Foles must be a HOF since he led PHI to the SB right? Stanford got the benefit of LA literally going “all in” and hopefully Jerry finally uses that blueprint. You said it yourself, as good as Mahomes is, his defense and running game is carrying them this year due to poor WR play. Simply, you can be a bus driver, non elite QB and win the SB but if your parts around you aren’t great (a la SF has the best all around team imo) , you will not make it. Dak is good enough but if the parts stay the same, we will repeat this another 30 years whether Dak is behind center or not.
Dallas needs to start drafting QBs.
Can I just say that I love how everyone abandoned the RB position this last preseason and didn't want to pay them - meanwhile Baltimore lost because they abandoned the run, Detroit broke a 30+ year curse off the success of their 2 backs, CMC is as close as you get to earning the MVP in a league where only QBs are considered, and the solution for Dallas is to go out and pay for a senior playmaker RB.
And the Chiefs are in back to back Super Bowls with a 7th round pick running back.
@@dogger37JC So you're telling me all you need is the #1 QB and #1 TE in the NFL and you can get away with it. Cool. I guess every team should just do that.
@@LordCyler No, not what I’m saying. The Chiefs have repeatedly invested in their o line every season and they have a head coach who understands how to design running plays and blocking schemes. They don’t need a top FA running back but instead can find one in the later rounds of the draft. Just like several other good running teams. The Niners have been a very good running team since Shanahan has been there because of the exact same reasons. They have built a very good offensive line. Shanahan had backs who weren’t high draft picks before CMC who did great in his system. CMC just took them to another level. The Cowboys should have drafted an offensive lineman in the first or second round last year. They should have signed a higher quality free agent instead of bargain bin shopping with Edoga. Unless McCarthy learns how to design run plays for this decade, it’s all pointless because he was atrocious this season. Going after top free agent running back will be a waste of resources that should go towards more important needs.
Dak is definitely NOT worth that kind of money.
Dallas needs to try and trade Dak or just ride out the last year and then watch him not win big games somewhere else.
Jerry... Your Cowboys have been all in since day 1 and cooked nothing but themselves. But continue to be "all in". I need more of Stephen A's trolling
Dak is 2-5 in the playoffs! What more do you need to see!
All the average QBs that could make things even worse.
@@Icien1 Unless you're satisfied with regular season wins and playoff failures, the Cowboys are going to have to face the fact that they may have to get worse before they can get better. Dak is what he is.
Exactly
@@Icien1Draft a First Round QB. Dallas hasn’t done that since Aikman. It also hasn’t succeeded in the postseason since Aikman.
Ravens need D. Henry.
Think there will be quite a few suitors for Henry. Hoping Baltimore Ravens are one of them.
Who’s his QB coach? Who’s really working with him to develop and be ready for those big moments. 🤷🏽♂️
How cn we expect him to get over without that coaching. On top of his own study and practice etc
The Cowboys need to move on from Jerry Jones being the GM.
Dak can't be fixed...he doesn't do well against good teams...he is not a big game or Super Bowl QB
Bills could also use D Henry
It’s not that bold to say what Rich said. CMC is a difference maker.
Yea he is but if he wasn’t surrounded by so much talent the Niners wouldn’t be this good. They have one of the best offensive lines. One of the best tight ends. One of the best wide receiver groups. And they have one of the best and most creative offensive coaches in the league. Adding Henry to the Cowboys won’t change much with how bad their run blocking is and how bad their coaching is with running the ball.
Thank god we got Purdy.
I am reminded of another NFC East team that year after year went "all in" by signing all the blue chip free agents only to end up last in their division. How'd that work out for them?
Hey it's 4th and 20.. were going for it. DC
The most unaccomplished team in the history in the NFL compared to the amount of media coverage they get. It never changes, just like their teams accomplishments since the internet era.
Stephen runs the team now and Cap boy would never do that. He just wants us being talked about. Thats good enough for him.
Exactly
I love how the cowboys are the only franchise with this restriction of moving on from a qb.
All I can say is.......AMEN!!!!
Saquon would be Dallas' CMac. Give Saquon a great offensive line, a great QB, and an elite roster.
Can you IMAGINE Saquon being Dak's checkdown?
Problem is McFatty isn’t Shanahan. Any running back that comes to Dallas will struggle as long as the run blocking, scheme, and play designs are the same garbage that McFatty brought this season.
HES ELITE. HE JUST HASNT SHOWN IT YET 😂. CLOWN
Henry isn't going to fix the run scheme and blocking though
Exactly!!! It’s astonishing that Rich can’t understand this.
Here we go.... 🤣
Lol
Saying Fantasy Football is absurd is like saying Eisen is a Puppet for the NFL.
For God sakes, Rich do not say that Dak Prescott is elite. He is not even a top five quarterback in the NFL. He has never been to a conference championship game much less a Super Bowl. Right now there are two elite quarterbacks in the NFL, and they are playing each other in the Super Bowl.
I’m 55 and Cowboys Fan. It’s not Dak. It’s Jerry Jones. I do not believe he’s all in for 2024. Jerry is great at Marketing.
If he’s all in, Extend Dak, Extend McCarty, sign a competent #2 WR, resign Cooks, draft OL.
I say let CD Lamb go
Draft a RB or get Henry. Resign Pollard. Find a DT and LB
Thats all in !
I pray Henry doesn't go to Dallas.
You can't call a quarterback elite and then worry about taking pressure off of him. Elite quarterbacks compensate for weaknesses, average-to-good quarterbacks need to be compensated for.
Rich is 100% right. Only reason Niners are in the Super Bowl is because of CMC.
I’m 52 and I’m tired of the Jerry Jones Circus. All my life I’ve been a Cowboys fan and I’m just tired of the marygoround! I work too hard, been through so much shyt in this lifetime and supported Jerry’s business. Show me cause I’m done waisting my money on someone who could care less.
When you go higher register on "elite"...enough said. Elite players are tough playoff outs...Dak ain't.
Time retired Tom Brady... Dak didn't retire anyone.
Exactly...he shouldn't use Daks name in the same state as Brady
Doing the same thing but expecting different results... That "Cowboys cycle" meme isn't a meme anymore, it's the truth. Same coach/OC, same DC, same QB equals the same season as the last three, 11-13 wins (mostly against bad teams), hype builds that it's their year and then collapse in the wildcard or divisional round. Bank on it.
Get rid of Dak. He’s proven he can’t make the leap.
Your exactly right cmon cboys get Henry and Hopkins and some LB's
So much of what Rich is saying is driving me nuts. NFL Network needs to replace this guy.
Extended contract for Less pay for Dak and Extending Cap Debt. Wow.
"All-in" is completely meaningless verbiage. "This year's THE year" just heaps even more pressure on Prescott..
😒 Yeah right
Listen closely to what Jerry said.
"All in" referring to contracts that have to be addressed.
He did NOT say "all in" in free agency, "all in" with free agency, trades, moving up or down the board in the draft, etc
Where is Suh? That guy has been in almost every superbowl the last 5 years
I'd say top 3 dream goals (I'm not a Cowboys fan, this is just my recommendation):
1. Acquire Derrick Henry
2. Acquire another starting caliber receiver i.e. Jerry Jeudy, Tee Higgins, etc.
3. Draft a corner in round 1
Saquon over Henry imo
would be cool @@coreyallen6041
No no.1 Fire McCarthy and Hire Belichick. No.2 Sign Henry
cause you can sign Henry but you need a coach that aint gonna abandon the run which Belichick isn't gonna do! For 20 years in New England with Brady they ran the ball whether the run was working or not cause Bill keeps the defense honest and opens up the passing game with play action!
OL is way more important right now than a corner

He won’t go to a SB with the Cowboys 😂
As niners fan we love it go all in buddy and deal with fall for next 7 years. Cowboys will make the playoff at 6 seed
Come on you’re lower the intelligence level of Niner fans. Going all in doesn’t kill a franchise for long these days. It’s not that hard to recover from if a team is smart. Just look at the Rams. They did something the Niners haven’t been able to do in 30 years by going all in and giving up a bunch of 1st round picks. Yet they’re back because they traded Ramsey and drafted well later in the draft.
Elite 😂
Paying your QB 60 mill requires him to be a one-man army like a Mahomes, Marino, elway, etc. Those were actually elite QBs! Dak is not a one-man army much less part of a squadron that he can carry. Even with all the right pieces in place including coaches he doesn't have the intangibles to get you over the hump and win in big games. Beating up on bad teams and losing to good teams while choking in the playoffs isn't my definition of elite Rich
The funny part... The Jones family is proof anyone can run an NFL franchise.
Wide right
They had the players necessary to win it all. They don't have a coaching culture for winning. They have a coaching culture for flattering the owner. This has been true since Jimmy Johnson was shown the door. Parcells wasn't able to coach and put energy into Jones too, especially at his age, so he moved on. McCarthy is perfect for making Jones feel good. However he barely understands the QB position, much less the 22 moving pieces on every play.
TWO INTERCEPTZ AND A PIK 6 IS DAK!🤨🤬
I get the sense that if God came down from heaven and offered GM Rich Eisen a QB that would go 17-0 every regular season but never get past the first game of the playoffs, he'd jump at the chance. The only difference between the Cowboys season and the Commanders season from the fan's perspective is _hope_ . Commanders fans have it. Cowboys fans don't. The Commanders have a chance to draft a difference-making QB and sign free agents with their massive cap space. Cowboy fans have to pray that their playoff games are all against teams with aging 45 year old QBs who can't get it done any longer. Seriously, you're concerned about blowing things up? Are you afraid of breaking the streak of 28 years of futility? It's been EIGHT years of Dak Prescott. We know who he is. If the Cowboys have to get worse before they can get better, so be it.
I think the difference in How Dak and Cousins are discussed are hilarious. With Kirk it's "you have to find another qb because he gets huge numbers but doesnt show up in big games" 😂😂😂. Dak is now 2-5 in the playoffs, but yes build around him
Derek Henry is 30 years old. Saquon Barkley is 26. It’s obvious who we should bring in.
A rookie RB. Don’t overpay for that position.
Giants aren’t going to trade their best player to a division rival
I totally agree Rich, though the Jerry that we knew from the past is gone. He's no longer the risk taker we had known him to be. In my opinion Stephen Jones is the one now calling the shots no ands ifs or buts, just like Biden, someone else is whispering into his ear in what to say lol 😅
if the Chargers, Chargered, the Cowboys, Cowboyed, the Bills, buffaloed.
Jerry is “all in” for himself!!
I been saying as much as I’m gone hate to see him go,I said that it’s 2 teams that should sign him,Ravens or Cowboys
If he’s smart he goes to the Ravens. He goes to the Cowboys he won’t do as well.
Just a thought. If Dallas goes all in on Derrick Henry, wouldn't it be ironic if it backfires as similar to Vikes back in the day?!!?? I do realize different circumstances, but would be interesting just the same.
Cowboys can not run block as well as they could years ago.
It’s McFatty
McCaffrey was an enormous difference maker, who's to say the 49ers would have been as successful with Garapolo AND McCaffrey ? Purdy IS good, McCaffrey is a difference maker.
Missing receivers down field isn't Dak??? Really?? That's exactly Dak. As a long suffering Cowboy's fan I'd be good watching Dak go they're not gonna win with him. He proves this year after year. How many times do we have to see it happen for people to ignore his regular season stats? I don't care what he does during the season because he's just gonna throww two quick picks early in the first quarter if their first playoff game. He does it every year.
Derrick He ray is the answer. Let’s be clear, you aren’t getting Derrick Henry from 3 years ago. He’s not gonna rush for 2000 yards, but Dallas doesn’t need that. Henry still has a lot left in the tank, and him and Pollard could recreate what they used to have with Pollard and Zeke. Jerry is foolish not to get him unless he wants too much money
Yall the only ones saying this. I get tired of all the smoke dak gets but other media outlets let the coaches and defense of the hook. That defense was sorry against the packers.coaches didn't have a clue
As “Dirty Harry” said, “A man’s got to know his limitations.” JJ, you’re a really good owner and a really bad GM.
