Imagine if Jor-El was Superman instead of Kal-El. He's a scientist, a genius and an expert in the art of fighting (he destroyed Zod easily on 1v1). He would have been unstoppable.
But he lacked one important thing that Kal had: Kal was raised as a human by loving human parents and his love for Earth was built into him from infancy. He falls in love with a human woman. He isn't corruptible in the way an adult would be coming to earth as a god, and he can't be bought to sell out those he loves. Jor loved Krypton. Jor would have come to earth as a fully grown adult. Unless we're assuming Jor was a perfect Krypton with no ability to sin or do harm, as an adult on earth he would have been susceptible to corruption by the things any adult can be corrupted by. Power, ambition, or sometimes the best of intentions warping into tyranny. Perhaps he would have come to earth benevolent but he would have witnessed how cruel humans can be without seeing what Clarke felt and saw from birth: the love that humans can show. And if Jor saw the evils of humanity, perhaps he would conclude the same as Zod: that earth was worth saving for a more noble species worthy of Earth. Jor could have easily become Zod if on Earth. Perhaps this is why Jor's digital projection tells Clarke he had to stay and go down with Krypton, because Earth wouldn't even be safe from Jor.

On krypton, you saw how they suffered from genetically coding their babies, people born without choice and no opposition. To run out of resources and exhaust all energy supplies without changing their ways, kal el bloodline was the most human family on Krypton, humans in this movie for the most part are displayed as kind and selfless creatures, his non genetic parents, lois, the compliance of the military, the daily planet staff helping on another, the soldiers defending their leader to their life. It shows you what we can be when the good of humanity is compared to the alien evil that is normally hidden.
@@inserttext7415 the most modern depictions of krypton shown today , had the background of essencially centuries and maybe even millenia of war between different factions, until a new order was born from the despair of this wars, when the population was almost destroyed by the lack of resources, the genetics were the base of the new order, imagine a war so brutal, their own fears so profounds, that their genetics went from experimental to full knowledge cause they were marrying their own families just to survive, i assume that why what we end up seeing is the result of all that , the result of losing almost their mos basic selves in violence and try to rebuild from that, trying to be better regarding what happened, before, and then you have the 2 options; a new civil war leaded by zod, cause the warrior cast were losing political power in a time of peace, versus the scientific cast trying to rebuild civilization almost from scratch using their most advanced technologies to survive and give hope to people. that give us brainiac; the codex, and some probable lose colonies lost in space that even today may not know tha krypton were lost, or now lack the technologies to even investigate what happened.

The Krypton prologue was the closest thing we had to DUNE, before Denis Villeneuve.
