  • Today's topic is all about do's and don't for baby room decor!
    One of the most relaxing places in your home should be your baby's nursery. Especially if you're expecting a baby! Duh. I mean if you're not expecting, then focus on your bedroom. That should be very relaxing. But otherwise your baby's first room should be relaxing and comfortable and most importantly happy. You'll be spending lots of precious time in there so you want it to be rather special.
    So here's my list of Do's & Don'ts for your baby's room!

    I was pleasantly surprised at how helpful this video was. A lot of good topics were covered, with a great balance between practicality and aesthetic appeal! One thing I would add is the necessity to secure large furniture (such as dressers and bookshelves) to the wall, to ensure that they don't topple down on the child. And even with that safety measure in place, I would also add the advice not to place heavier items on taller shelves, because baby might try to reach and pull the item down upon themself... (Of course, it's important to always supervise them, but also children can be quick, even when you're standing right there next to them!) Overall a very thorough and helpful video!

    I am not a mom or even a women. But i liked many baby rooms, which look comforting and joyful welcoming. Came here to know what all thought goes while making room as such.
    Definitely tips are helpful, keeping heavy items on ground 👍👍👍

    Great video! Wish I had these tips when I was preparing my baby room or to share with my daughters when they prepared theirs. Helpful, practical (love the simple idea of putting the crib close to the door! Would have avoided many stubbed toes.) and safety conscious. Thank you again.

    What do you think of those hanging princess canopy tents made of tulle or lace? Every other post of a little girl's nursery has one of those hanging against the baby's crib. They look so fun and adorable, but I can only imagine the baby grabbing right for it as soon as she can stand

      Sometimes safety over aesthetics! I think those would be dangerous. But they do look very serene!

      True, much better safe than sorry. I'll just have to hope she'd like one when we redecorate her room when she's ready for a big bed ☺ thank you

      I wonder if you could hang it from above a corner, and then attach the two side draping pieces to the two walls instead of letting them fall directly around the crib? That way, you would still make a lovely canopy, but none of the ends of the fabric would be anywhere near the edges of the crib. (I wish I could attach a photo here of what I'm trying to describe. Hope this makes sense!) In addition, to ensure that they can't reach it at all from anywhere in the room, keep the drapery short enough that the ends are above the level of their grasp even if they are standing close to the wall. The way I envision it, this would not sacrifice aesthetics appeal at all, but would eliminate any risk of grabbing and pulling at the fabric, ensuring that your cute canopy stays intact and baby/toddler stays safe! I hope this idea is helpful!! I'm always so determined to find a way to keep pretty things balanced with practicality, haha! I want you to get the baby nursery style of your dreams, without worry!

    I painted my baby room a hot pink, what colors goes well with it?

    • @thepolkkids4558
      @thepolkkids4558 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I always thought a light teal color goes well with that. Those are my favorite colors to pair together. Whenever i paint a picture and im painting the clothes i choose hot pick and light teal most kf the time.

      I agree teal. But also gold or white or even a light grey

    What about when renting? There's only so much we can do

    • @deondrak8977
      @deondrak8977 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      You can fix holes in the wall from mounting things, and even paint the walls back before you move out!! Home Depot has a color match software you can bring a chip off the wall and they can mix up that exact color or close.

      @@daimelo8773 well it obviously depends on your circumstances, space and the age of the baby. I think that's universal.

      I know there are a lot of reasons to keep baby in the same room as the parents for at least the first year, but what about after that? Does the older child still share a room with parents in your country? This makes me very curious... In America we do like to prepare a room especially for the new child, so that they have their own space to keep their clothing, necessities, toys, etc. For example, our master bedroom is barely large enough for our own adult bed. We do have room for a small baby crib beside the bed, but beyond that, it would be far too cramped and become a dangerous tripping hazard if I tried to cram in more furniture items to hold baby's belongings. And what about when more children come? So for me, it just makes more sense to designate a separate room for the child/children right away, that they can continue to use as they grow older. I see no reason to keep that other room empty and force everyone into one small space. I'm curious to hear more about your perspective based on your own cultural norms. The idea of putting the whole family into one single bedroom doesn't sound practical or feasible, but maybe I'm not understanding correctly.
