    Bummer about the boresight shift, but great that you showed it anyway. Keeps things real and reminds folks that even experienced folks are subject to damage and errors.

    I've had this exact thing happen during a hunt in Illinois. Cost me the largest whitetail I'd ever seen in person. Also, as a suggestion for future content, I love hearing your opinions on gear and seeing you putting that gear through it's paces both as a shooter and a hunter. So I personally would love to see more of that.

    • @THLR
      @THLR  ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry to hear that, but at least you have the memory. There will be some gear review this season, but only the gear I have used and essentially why I ended up with that particular model (logistics & availability is usually a determining factor).

    Always bitter when it does not quite work out as planed…
    At least it was off fare enough to not harm the stag…
    I know it does not make it any better but I guess it is true, that it can happen to everyone. Thanks for sharing that even you, a seasoned pro can draw once in a while the short straw…
    Thanks Mike

      No problem Mike, glad you took the time. A clean miss is my consolation too. Sam is a nice dog, but I sincerely doubt he is sharp enough to hold a wounded sika. So all in all a fortunate outcome.

      @@THLR awesome Thomas !
      I recently bought a Blaser r8 in 6,5x55, I’m from Portugal and it’s not a common caliber here, but definitely it’s a excellent caliber.
      I used a 308 and a 300 win mag for big game, wild boar and red stag.
      I as afraid I made a mistake because it was a “small” bullet. But with right shot placement and good shooting fundamentals, like you teach on your videos,is a very deadly cartridge.
      I’m using the Hornady SST 140 gr factory ammo at 830 m/s. Also I’m awaiting for some sako power blade 120 grain.
      Keep up the good work Thomas ! 🔥

      @@THLR after the humiliation of five missed in a row I have only sympathy. The last time, only one miss, was entirely my fault. I knew the rife had been bumped but I succumbed to the guides pressure and was rewarded with a missed Roebuck. Learning to be methodical is very hard for me.
